It’s our dog’s gotcha date today! Anywhere we can walk him in the evening to get a pup cup (his favorite)

We adopted our boy 9 years ago from Wags and Walks and his favorite thing in the world is to walk into a shop and get a pup cup. I know Lei’d Cookies provides pup cups in the evening, but is there anywhere else that does this?

E-bikes give kids too much freedom

Elder millennial here and I know i’m gonna sound like an old man yelling at the sky…but how in the hell is it a good idea to give 12-year olds motorized vehicles that let them effortlessly go up to 20mph on sidewalks and roads?

Obviously there are exceptions like dirt bikes on actual trails, and yes a little part of me is just jealous that I didn’t have this opportunity when I was a kid.

But just thinking if me and my idiot buddies had these e-bikes as kids, we would’ve been way too reckless in where we go and how we get there.

It’s reckless to let kids travel so fast and far.

Kumo Kitchen - a small takeout sushi spot in Mid-City with affordable, high quality sushi

I’m gonna glaze tf out of this place. I had heard good things about this spot from mid city locals and I had yet to find my “go-to” sushi joint in the area.

In a small corner store of a strip mall on Pico, you’ll see a few small tables outside and a few stool seats inside. Most people are picking up. We placed a few orders and ate outside.

WTF - this sushi was SO damn fresh, flavorful, vibrantly colored and velvety textured. It’s luxury sushi made fresh to order that’s about the same price as the takeout sushi at whole foods - the prices i thought were absolutely fair. I spoke with the owner before leaving and turns out he worked at nobu for years before starting this place.

Left really happy because it’s not everyday you find your go-to local sushi joint!

Hidden gem sites for pickups?

Just curious what are some of the lesser known sites that you all are using. All good if you don’t wanna share but thought I’d ask.

I’ll drop two that I regularly go to:

What type of animal did this to my roof?

sorry if this isn’t the right sub, but sometimes I hear scurrying on my roof (assumed they were squirrels or cats). I also saw a crow around this same spot. Can anyone help ID what this could be?

First time visitor: what types of food does Denver do better than anywhere?

Doing a quick trip in mid June for concert at Red Rocks. 4 guys, all first timers to Denver visiting from LA.

Would love your thoughts on what types of cuisines we should target. Like if anyone visited LA, I’d insist they get Mexican, Korean, breakfast burritos…things i know we do top tier compared to the rest of the country (i’m not opening the can of worms and saying we’re the best at anything though lol).

Been crawling this sub for suggestions, much appreciated!

Franzl’s Franks at Smorgasborg: a juicy, snappy, cheesy jumbo Vienna sausage served in a closed, pillowy bolillo.

I really appreciated how the bolillo was hallowed out and not cut open so you can walk around eating with one hand no problem. Hallowing out a bolillo is simple genius, as it’s basically soft french bread that’s super easy to bite through while holding the juices, ketchup and mustard.

Definite hidden gem at Smorgasborg! Plus the owner is a former opera singer who did drag so he’ll belt out opera at any time which is kinda hilarious.

Aday Mara is 7’3” and a 7’7” wingspan. This video shows his exceptional court vision and you could see him hitting cutters all day in Kerr’s system.

Offense: shot 75% in half court offense. Extremely soft touch with great hook shots and angles. Excellent offensive rebounder. Court vision you can’t teach. Universally viewed as a very high IQ skilled offensive player.

Defense: Strong rim protector averaging over 2.5 bpg.

Cons: no range, bad free throw shooter. Cannot defend on the perimeter (naturally). Needs to get stronger with better conditioning.

Player comps: less physical Zach Edey, Donavan Clingan who can’t shoot.

Fit for the Warriors: this team loves high IQ players and Mara is exactly that. His passing will fit like a glove in Kerr’s system, and when he’s in the game teams won’t kill us with offensive rebounds and flying to the rim.

He won’t be a 35mpg player for a few years (if he ever is), but you can see how he could be immediately useful for 15mpg with the ability to change the momentum of games when he’s in.

I’ve always been enamored with centers, and Mara seems uniquely fitted to the Warriors needs and strengths.
