Honestly it's probably legit the best way to play OG snes star fox for me.

Even if you don't overclock the FX chip it has a 30fps mode, allows you to use ALL the chips from Star fox 2 and Command, lets you use different blasters and shots. And lets you both play the original levels and new levels too.

The only thing I warn you about is that the game is prone to crashes in the OG levels if you raise the FPS and there are a few glitches due to it. (So save often)

But other than that its a real joy to play.

Star Fox 64 is quite interesting, because compared to other rail shooters it is actually quite slow. But the game overall tends to make up for it for having a lot variety in both its level concepts and gameplay types.

Was playing a lot of different types of rail shooters since the announcement just to vary my platter a bit. Between aerial and non aerial ones.

But one thing I noticed after playing a few of them is... Star Fox 64 is actually pretty slow and not a ton of stuff going on in the levels.

Like speaking STRICTLY on rail stuff. I'd actually consider games like Panzer Dragoon Zwei (Not the remake) and After burner Climax to do the rail shooting parts better than 64.

But 64 makes up for it for being longer and more varied. It has all range mode for both bosses and full levels, it has two different type of vehicles, and actually really good bosses.

64 very much feels like a sum of all of its parts. While other games can do individual components better. (rogue squadron tends to do the free flight levels better for example)

No game really combines them all together and does every element pretty good and well.

So while 64 isn't like the be all end all for strictly railshooters, if I'm short on time and want to do a quick level or two I tend to lean toward other games. But if I got the full hour to kill I feel star fox 64 from beginning to end is kind of one of a kind.

I do wonder if maybe, shorter, smaller star fox games, but cheaper priced might be better for the series going forward than trying to squeeze a 7-8 hour experience into a genre not really made for them.

I've been thinking about it, with the price of game dev and playing a lot of smaller/indie games in the rail-shooter genre, and I started to wonder. Do we NEED star fox to have these super long games.

Would a star fox game made on a smaller budget, with 8-9 stages but for $20-30 might be best for the series. And maybe every console generation we get a massive one.

I mostly just got the idea after playing a bit of After Burner Climax. Which is a game you can legit see every level of in about an hour including alternate routes.

Just a thought, I'd rather get smaller star fox games for the e-shop that don't take long to produce and make, maybe even reusing assets than a super padded game.

Kind of shocked there is so little buzz about MHS3 compared to MHS2 considering they REALLY pushed for advertisement for 3 with streamers ect compared to the second.

I do really wonder if the lack of MP really actually did hurt the game somewhat combined with the lack of super hard end game activities at launch.

I think people really underestimate the use of build guides and PVP/ END game PVE guides for keeping people talking about the games. That and the idea of playing with or against your friends and trying to optimize builds can also help.

Not saying they'd get MILLIONS of sales from that. Just something I was thinking about since this game had a far bigger marketing push compared to the other two.

I remember thinking Yoshida was about to pull out some weird crazy transformation or something then I realized (He he just died...)

100% don't know how to feel. He wasn't likeable enough for his death to be sting. And it feels like he was just kind of rushed out of the story because he just needed to be gotten rid of.

I'm not even angry about it. Even in universe there were probably better ways to getting Denji to turn into chainsaw man.

Even if the ending could have used a few more chapters. It really felt like Gege was having a bit of fun. Even after it ended, the sheer amount of art and collabs he did with Yuji for the volumes was really nice.

It was really cool he didn't end the series/franchise on a sour note with being sick and in back pain ect.

Contrast with Fujimoto who probably doesn't want to touch chainsaw man with a 10 foot pole right now.

Even the fandom, despite saying the ending wasn't perfect, seem to be pretty positive over all.

I like him, but not only was the crew already pretty much complete. But even if the straw hats needed a member, he himself feels like he had already finished his character arc.

He really doesn't seem to have any wants or desires being on the quest would give him. And all the arcs since he joined seem to struggle to find him things to actually do.

I don't think he even got into a fight SINCE he joined.

(To be fair, I also think there is a reason my most long running stories tend to limit the main cast between 4-6 main cast members with others only jumping in now and then)
