Back in the game

I have two years of experience teaching PE (grades 5th-8th)…10 years ago. After time working at a family business, I’m back in the PE Teacher role and I’m excited! This is what I WANT to do, so I’m grateful the opportunity to do so presented itself.

This time around I’ll be Elementary (K-6). I do have history of running sports camps for 2nd-5th grade, and now have kids in elementary school myself. I live in Arizona, and it’s HOT so when we can’t be outside during to heat, I’ll be using the cafeteria or MPR.

But my question is, what are some key things I should expect / be ready for after being away from teaching for so long? Any good ideas, sources, etc you’d want to share?

Appreciate it!

Tesla Wall Connector Question

I have ‘21 Model 3, and a wall connector at home. Going from 60% to 80% charging takes about an hour. Is that normal or is there anything to adjust?

In the photo attached I just plugged it in. In Miles charging per hour it’s 35/hr

It just seems…slow? But I know much better than trickle charging because I had to do that for a bit.

I live in Arizona and it’s very hot here now, if that matters.

Happy Fathers Day To All The Gaming Dads Out There!

Had a historic parenting moment today, on Fathers Day of all days.

Playing a round of Mario Kart with my son. Rounding the last corner he’s in first and myself in second. I can hear the excitement in his voice. I’m happy for him.

As we get close to the finish line, I blast him with a red shell. I get first, and he gets 4th.

Not yet, kid.

Anyways, happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there.

What was the last game you purchased for iOS?

Not counting iap’s.

I think mine was Gambonanza, but I haven’t really got hooked by it.

AZ Tesla - Extremely loud

So to preface I live in Arizona. I got this car in December and weather was nice and had no questions. But this is my first summer owning this car (‘21 Model 3). We are in the 100s in heat. Yes I understand that the car is kicking it into high gear cooling itself, the inside, the battery.

I’ll turn the ac on before I go out to my car for my drive, and when I go out to get in the car it’s very loud as far as the fan. It sounds like a jet - ok maybe a bit extreme but you know what I mean. Even when I’m driving if I’m at a stoplight I notice it.

I guess my question is, is this normal? My old car (Kia) did not seem this loud in summers.

What to wear?

I have a few years of PE Teaching experience, but stepped away for a bit. I’m now getting back into the education field.

I had a virtual interview, where I was essentially verbally offered a job the next day. I have not signed any contract as that is still being created through the HR Department. I am going to the school later this week to meet the principal in person (they were on the virtual interview), see the space, etc.

I’m probably over thinking this but what is the appropriate dress code here in this situation? Do I wear as if I’m going in for an interview, or wear more of a PE teacher set up?

2026.14.3 ok now?

I have a 2021 M3 for reference. No self driving or anything fancy.

When the update came out I almost updated then saw a lot of people having issues.

Is it ok to install this now? Or wait until the next update? I know it’s a stupid question, I just can’t afford to not have my car working right now.

Chrono Ark or Knock On The Coffin Lid?

Which should I get from this sale?

Looking for a decent story, good replayability and quality. Both games seem up my alley although they are very different.

Thanks!

What have you picked up from the Steam Deck Builders Fest?

There’s a few on my radar, but curious what people have gotten and are enjoying?

I’m considering: Knock On The Coffin Lid, Chrono Ark, Gambonanza, Death Howl, and/or As We Descend.
