What happens when a patient "fires" you?

Let me preface this by saying that I consider myself a good, conscientious Pediatric hospitalist who has been in practice for 15 years. There has been an, ahem, noticeable shift in my patient population and their attitude towards medicine in general. But the other day I received a call from patient relations saying that "Patient X says you may never care for her 8 year old ever again" because I questioned (politely) why they don't decide to vaccinate said 8 year old. Mind you, this is an unvaccinated 8 year old with HA, neck pain, and fever, so I did mention that her unvaccinated status puts her at higher risk for bacterial meningitis (and thus was tapped by the ER). I was professional in my interactions and didn't push the issue after she answered that it was a "personal family decision".

Patient relations asked to assign a different doctor to this patient. Fine. But what *should* they have done? Stood up for me? Not called me at all? I feel like the bullies are winning 😞

Squeaky bed

this is an old teak bed and the squeaking comes from somewhere in this photo (not the screw you see). But I can’t get how it all attaches together to even tighten it. it’s driving me crazy and forcing husband and I to sleep in separate rooms because every time he moves I wake up. Help!!!

Visiting Lithuania

Hello - We are a Lithuanian-American family of 4 with kids ages 10 and 11 years old, coming to Lithuania from Arizona in July. We will be in Palanga for one week, then have 4 days before we leave the country. Besides Nida (we have been), are there any lakefront hotels or resorts that you can recommend? Esperanza is too expensive for us. We are just looking for something simple and fun where we can canoe, take walks, maybe a sauna. Thank you.

Hi everyone, We are ending a month-long trip with my 2 kids and my elderly mother in June. We unfortunately have to fly into London Stansted from Lithuania, then fly out the next afternoon from LHR back to the US. I'm trying to figure out what to do/where to stay in those <24 hours. Originally I had booked Premier Inn Blackfriar's, but seeing as it will be 45 minutes or more from/to each airport, I'm thinking an airport hotel at LHR might be the best option instead of going all the way into city center. Any advice on whether going into city center for the evening and morning just sounds like too much travel? Thank you.

so I took my first 1 mg shot last night. Today I kept busy after my coffee and had errands to run and all of a sudden…it was 2 pm and I hadn’t eaten. I had maybe a pang of hunger but it was really quiet. I ate when I got home and now I’m a little worried that I won’t eat enough on this stuff. Specifically protein and fiber. Should I track??

Hello - I am taking two kids 11 years old to the Ed Sheeran concert in June. I'm wondering if anyone can comment on the floor seating and whether they will have trouble seeing over people's heads? Would it be better to get upper level seating even though it's further away?
