North coast trail - water situation

Hey y'all!

I'm curious if anyone's hiked San Josef/Cape Scott/North coast recently? I've been hearing that there's an awful stomach bug going on up there and people are being helivaced out, even when they filter/boil their water.

Anyone do it recently and can confirm? Is there anything I should know about the water sources to avoid getting sick? Just doing cape scott and back.

Thanks!

Everyone made fun of me for bringing a TV and N64 to our cabin trip until I set it up on the porch.

It's not fair that I have to wear noise cancelling headphones all day

The old man upstairs watches loud TV from 6am-10pm basically all day. I get that he's alone and it's probably background noise, but I can't enjoy a single moment at home without his stupid TV droning. The walls are thin so there's nothing we can do, and I can't afford to move, so I just have to wear my noise cancelling headphones all day. I just want to bitch. Fuck this place, fuck tv's, and fuck misophonia.

Does anyone not feel like an adult because they don't have kids?

I'm 36 and single without kids (by choice.)

I love my life, but sometimes I look at my friends and brothers and feel... immature because I don't have a kid.

They have real responsibilities. They have to wake up and deal with a living breathing thing. They have to work for their kid, not just themselves. They can't just drop everything and leave. They have something looking up to them for guidance and support. They have a wife to support and love who also relies on them (and they rely on their wife.)

I wake up every day and realize I could probably just quit my job and travel if I wanted to, play videogames all day if I wanted to, sleep around if I wanted to, or just literally do whatever. I love my life, but I feel like a child.

How do you feel like an adult with kids and a wife/husband/partner?

Are busses just not on time anymore?

ive found recently that busses either don’t show up for their scheduled time half of the time or are horribly late now. this is incredibly frustrating when trying to get to work or appointments on time.

This wasn’t the case even a few months ago but now it’s so common.

Anyone else experiencing this? What gives?

it worked a week ago but now it’s not? we are away on vacation so I can’t try new cables. hoping there’s a fix I’m unaware of

[PC][2000's] Medieval fantasy action game comparing itself to Zelda on the box

There was a PC game from the early 2000's that I never played but saw in the store all the time and the box compared itself directly to Legend of Zelda a lot (the next zelda! as good as zelda!)

I'm sure the game sucked ass but I'm so curious as to what it was called because I want to look up a let's play or something of it.

It almost had playmobil-looking characters in it, def 3rd person, looked like shovelware probably.

▲ 26 r/acting

I'm new to trying to get in to acting and responded to a few instagram calls for extras for a few movies. I figured if they can't tell me what the project is, it's not real? Also why would they text me so much? Surely no production company is this desparate lol

As the title states, I'm the only designer at my company and I work on a team that has me, 6 developers and a PM.

My PM is going on mat leave for a year, and rather than backfill my boss/ceo has decided that I will be filling in for her.

They sent me a link to a new claude integration and said I can use AI to do a lot of the tasks the PM would do, and he wants me to shadow the PM for a few weeks before she leaves so I can figure out what she does on a day to day.

Keep in mind I'll still be doing my design work, and won't get any kind of pay raise etc.

In my last 1:1 I was scrutinized for "not doing PM work enough" in the last sprint because I was tasked with making a Q3 plan for what to work on and didn't really do it.

I don't know how to PM at all.

Has anyone else deal with this/any advice?
