Search engines that actually work?

Whenever I try and use a search engine now I feel like screaming. They just...don't work. Half the time I give up because the results are so unrelated and I can't find what I'm searching for at all. The results are always for products, and if it's not a product, it's very difficult to find.

I feel like I'm going crazy because ever since I was a kid I could find anything, even obscure things using quotes or advanced search bit now nothing works, not even Google competitors, they're just as bad now.

It feels like the internet is being consolidated into a handful of sites and everything else is difficult to access because they don't provide enough "traffic" or revenue. I'm so exhausted with everything becoming so much more shitty and more useless.

Why is store music so incredibly loud??

I don't know why this is so common but so many stores have music so loud it's difficult to hear people speak, it's louder than my noise canceling headphones unless I crank them past the safe volume setting. I work retail and my manager GLUED the volume knob so the music volume can't be lowered, and customers struggle to hear me.

Why? What possible benefit is very loud music? I can't imagine NT people enjoy this either, and if they want to listen to the greatest radio hits of 2010 on a loop loud as fuck they can use their own headphones. I just don't get it.

It just makes stores uncomfortable and feel hostile for no reason and it makes retail even more miserable to work in than it already is.

Art Deco candlestick holder

I can't find any info on this one anywhere, it's really pretty though. I think it's art deco. I got this at a thrift store for basically nothing, can anyone tell me more about it?

And no, before anyone asks, I do not plan on inserting this into any of my orifices even though it has a flared base.

Anti Tank rifle on soldiers feels unsatisfying

Are there mods to make the Anti Tank rifles do way more damage in the killcam? I know that due to the bullet velocity the killcams are probably realistic, but I if I'm shooting someone with a gun that powerful I wish it looked waaaay more grisly its unsatisfying to lug one around just to have not much more effect than any other gun. The first time I used one on a target I was so disappointed it didn't blow his head apart or something.

Frankenboots

My old doc martins (got for free doing warehouse job) boot soles are splitting at the toes, so I improvised with shoe glue and furniture staples. Will this work? It looks sick but idk how long this fix will hold, maybe I'm a genius, maybe not.
