Raspberry Pi 3b+ Questions

Building a device heavily based on the Video Looper from videolooper.de and I have a couple questions.

I'm going to build it as is from the site, but with a couple addons. I want to add, in order of importance:

- a fan to run in the enclosure. I'm gonna get a 5v one from adafruit, which is where I am getting the board from. I'm also gonna pick up a small heatsink from them and a 5v 2.5A switching supply.

- a small color display, not touch, that will be mounted to the case I'm going to 3d print for the device. I would like this display to be as cheap as possible as it is just for monitoring video feed. I will be putting the device into Analogue mode to use the audio jack as a video output.

- a handful of buttons added to the case for powering down and the minimal functionality the device has about 4 or 5 functions: skip, stop/start, esc, and power. In the code these are set to keystrokes for a keyboard.

For the first, I already know how I'm going to set these up. The fan would go into the two 5v ports on the pin array. The questions I have are about the screen and the keys.

For the monitor, which screen should I get and how would I hook it up to the board? Would I need to add or change any of the code to get it working?

For the keys would it be fairly easy to just set up some simple electronics buttons or should I make a small 5 key keyboard that plugs into the device when I need it, which wouldn't be too often.

If anyone is willing to skim over the project details on the site I linked above and give me their thoughts and opinions I would greatly appreciate it. This is my first Raspberry Pi project, so I want to make sure so do things right. For reference I do have a soldering setup and have assembled custom boards before, like the CHA/V, VGA4EVA, and the feedback device from LofiFuture. It's just that coding makes me miserable so I want to get this device working as well as I can without having to do too much coding.

Finally have a little extra cash, was gonna pick up a camera from Freedom Enterprise but it seems the site is down? It was up and running last week. Does anyone know what's going on with the site?

[MF4A] 36M 34F Looking to branch out in ATL

Afternoon all. My wife and I have been having some deep, very new discussions about our sex life and have decided to slowly start opening up to others.

She has been getting into and reading a lot of spicy romance books as of late, and it has brought about many new and exciting conversations between us. What started as "I hope you aren't mad I picture other men and myself when reading these books" has quickly turned into "I want to watch you with another person."

For reference, I am bisexual/hetero romantic and she is heterosexual with an openness and desire to include other women. We are very, very strong in our marriage and will be spending the rest of our lives together, and want to state emphatically that this is a soft opening to include others, nothing more.

If any other couples or individuals want to message me and chat about it, my DMs are open!

Unpopular Opinion: Stop Making TCGs

I know I'm about to be down voted into oblivion for that title, but hear me out.

EDIT: I have realized I failed to make a very specific point clear, and I want to make it here. I am in no way saying don't make TCGs. I love them. All I am saying is that I want to see more card games that aren't TCGs. Games like Bohnanza, FLUXX, Coup, Cards Against Humanity. There's so many awesome, original ideas out there for us to just all make reskined YuGiOh or MTG. There is so much more to this hobby than that, so get creative!

I see so, so, so many people here making their very first game, and it's always a TCG. I get that you love TCGs, I love Magic and Pokemon myself. But what y'all aren't taking into account is that TCGs are made by massive companies with hundreds to thousands of employees for a reason.

TCGs have thousands of cards, if not tens of thousands. You don't just design the cards, but also the art. That involves hiring artists. You need designers to design the packaging. You need a print shop to print and cut the cards, and not just a print shop that does posters for your church. You need one that prints and cuts and will package the cards for you randomly to create the need for players to open packs in the first place. Then there's distribution.

On top of all that, the market is absolutely flooded with TCGs right now. One Piece, Star Wars, Disney Animation, Gundam, and a slew of a hundred others. Fucking Godzilla has a TCG.

Look, I don't want to discourage anyone from pursuing their dream. I made a card game myself. But once the rules were set and play tests with junk cards had been done, THEN THE HARD PART STARTED. And my game isn't a TCG. It's a single package complete game with 155 cards in it. I still have to find an artist willing to do that many pieces. Even if I find an artist that will do them for 10$ a piece, I'm still looking at over 1000$ just for the art. Let's say I do the art myself, I've done about 6 of the cards so far. One, I don't really like my art and the style doesn't fit, but two each one takes about 2 to 3 days in the evenings after work. That's a year and a half just to get the art done. I still have to design the boxes, get everything printed, then package them and THEN I can take it to local stores to try to convince them to sell them on a rack surrounded by about 20 other card games.

Again, I really hate myself right now for discouraging anyone from making a cool thing. Maybe your TCG will be a massive hit, what the fuck do I know. But for all of you new designers out there, I just suggest you come up with a self contained game that's very very simple as your first. Don't try to build a Ferrari for your first car, try to build a bicycle. There's so much that goes into production of a physical game.

Finally Got A CRT

And my art has never looked better! All of the blue screens, the refreshes, the issues I was having using a projector are gone. I happened to be at a thrift store with the wife and I found a beautiful Sony Trinitron KV-27TS20. All of the trials and tribulations of making my own analogue gear evaporated the first time I booted up everything on the CRT.

Equipment: LoFi Future GBS8100, VGA/RCA converter feedback loop, and a Chroma Corruptor.

Components Worth Keeping?

Have had these old speakers for a while, they stopped working after a power surge. Are there any components in here worth keeping? I eventually would like to make a small device that simply converts a 3.5mm audio jack into multiple 4mm patch jacks, so if there's components I should keep from these before throwing them out lmk.

For reference, they were 25$ speakers when brand new, so I don't really care if they get trashed.

Edit: Forgot to add the model number:

Print Error I've Never Gotten Before

Printer: Mars 5 Ultra

Resin: SunLu ABS-Like.

Slicer: Chitubox v1.2.1

Been having this print failure lately. Apologies for the crude diagram, I print minis in clear resin so the print error is hard to see in photos. The red represents the print error. I also included a screengrab of the sliced model (reopened in Chitubox) as well as some photos of the error after taking supports off, if those are at all helpful.

I have had the print error where the first layer bends under its own weight, and that kind of error I know how to fix. But this is a new one where its like the printer is overexposing around the supports. and its worse where supports are close together. Notice in my shit diagram how the error has the supports in it, not an error of the first layer of the model. I know its not the resin as it hasn't expired and this error happens worse with my opaque black than with my transparent blue.t expired and this error happens worse with my opaque black than with my transparent blue.

Another interesting quirk: When i print things supported, the error happens at the place where the supports touch the model. When i print things with flat faces against the build plate, the error is where the model meets the build plate and is actually *worse*.

This is a new thing that has only recently shown up. The printer is only like 5 months old and when I first got it it was printing 1000x better than my OG Mars did with the current settings and resin.

Any help or insight would be appreciated.

Chitubox Not Auto Naming Sliced Exports?

Been struggling to get Chitubox to actually auto name sliced exports. I think I have the setting turned on correctly, but it just puts the [insert data] version into the name and I still have to fill it out by hand. Not the end of the world, but I miss old Chitubox doing it for me, and it is a bit tedious.

I tried googling this issue, but had no luck finding any information.

The settings in Chitubox

This is what it \"autonames\" to
