“Bunuel & Dali’s Un Chien Andalou (1929) is not ‘meaningless’ in the conventional sense.” Discuss
Obviously it’s made by Bunuel & Dali and is therefore full of surrealistic dream imagery and seemingly disconnected scenes but, at about the fourth time of watching last year (each time separated by many years), it seemed like a relatively straightforward representation of the various stages of a long relationship. Admittedly ‘relatively’ is doing a lot of work but still… it made a sort of sense I hadn’t really noticed before, one I’m not even convinced the directors / writers were aware of. Thoughts?
