So, good news: I bought a new DSi and it looks adorable (pictured here with cover) but because I'm a nervous Nelly I'm wondering how long its battery can last - I've heard some can last for years and some batteries can bloat and explode and whatnot if left for too long.

I turned the Wifi off like a chicken was burning in the oven after I looked and saw that it drains it faster, so can someone calm my anxiety before future me worries about explosions?
