People who have replaced lawns with native grass, what did you go with?

Have about 3500 sq ft of lawn that looks wonderful during the winter/spring but awful during summer since I don't bother to water.

Looking to go with a native grass replacement and there seem to be different options like bentgrass, buffalograss, etc. Any other suggestions for replacement would be helpful too.

Looking for volunteering opps during weekdays

Looking for something low committal I can do for a few hours during the daytime throughout the week.

Would mainly be interested in meeting new wonderful people since I'm a hermit mostly, something like Meals on Wheels seems appealing but open to most things!

Anyone remember this list from 1999 "You know you live in the Bay Area when..."

Time is a flat circle

  • You make $100,000 a year (today: ~$203,000) and you still can't afford to buy a house.
  • You make six figures but can only afford to drive a baseline Honda Civic.
  • Your commute time is 45 minutes and you only live eight miles away from work.
  • You see more millionaires driving beat-up Volvos than sports cars.
  • Your real estate agent asks if you can pay your down payment in stock options.
  • You pass a billboard on Highway 101 that says "HTTP://WWW.YOUR_EMPLOYER.COM" instead of showing an actual consumer product.
  • You go to a high-end restaurant and absolutely everyone is wearing shorts, t-shirts, and flip-flops.
  • Your two-year-old child has their own website and an assigned tech support team.
  • You have never met anyone who was actually born in the local area.
  • You think a "Fixer-Upper" is a 900-square-foot house with a cracked foundation priced at $650,000 (today: ~$1.3 Million).
  • You have used "IPO" as a verb in casual, everyday conversation.
  • You have a friend who became a paper millionaire at age 23, and went completely broke again by age 24.
  • Your favorite coffee shop requires an understanding of Java—both the beverage and the programming language.
  • You measure your net worth in unvested options rather than your actual bank account balances.
  • You have ever pitched a business plan to a venture capitalist while waiting in line at a movie theater.
  • You believe that "Casual Friday" simply means you can wear your good t-shirt.
  • You have a Category-5 ethernet cable running through your dining room to connect your kitchen table to the internet.
  • You talk about "burn rates" when discussing your monthly household grocery budget.

What would be the NBA equivalent of Tarik Skubal getting traded to the Dodgers

The Dodgers who've won back to back World Series and were already heavy favorites to 3-peat just picked up the winner of the last two Cy Youngs.

KD to Warriors comes to mind but this is almost more like the Warriors getting Embiid in 2019.

Who was the most disappointing/underachieving team of the 2010s?

It was a decade defined by big 3s, with LeBron and the Heatles joining together to start the decade. They fell well short of their goal of 19 NBA finals before disbanding.

The lob city Clippers who were among the most exciting teams of the era notably never made it past the 2nd round.

The other LA team had a paper stacked roster of guys not far removed from their championship days with a lineup of Kobe, Nash, Pau, and Dwight.

Houston.

OKC.

Final shout-out to the bubble Clippers at the tail end of the decade who with Kawhi and PG had the best odds of winning the Finals entering the season and blew a 3-1 lead in the playoffs.

The world cup reminds me of high school

Scoring is so rare that when it happens a bunch of guys high five each other while the other side has huge looks of disappointment on their faces.
