How do you counter Johanna and Abathur?

This combo keeps coming up and it just makes johanna borderline unkillable + have enough damage output to murder pretty much anything. All the while abathur can sit in lane untargetable all game as per usual. Abathurs recent changes are especially gross in QM, he needs a nerf asap.

Can someone please argue for the value of CPD requirement’s for chartership within the British Geological Society? Seems like a con.

TLDR: I agree with the premise of having the BGS for networking and professional validation, but not that they require you to do almost 2 years of unpaid work over the course of a career to maintain your chartership. And that they can revoke your chartership if you don’t do it.

For background I’m an all round geo with 8 years of consulting experience in multiple countries. The biggest issue I have with the BGS is the ongoing requirements for continued professional development (CPD).

As part of their requirements for chartership you’re required to do 90 hours of CPD per year. If anyone asks a professional outside the UK for 90 hours a year of their time, you can bet they’re going to charge for that time.

However if you don’t do it then the BGS can hold your career to ransom by pulling your chartership, regardless of how much experience or your qualifications within the field. Most jobs roles in the uk at or above senior require you to be chartered anyway.

I understand the value in having a professional body to validate other professionals and act as a networking hub. But over a full professional career of 40 years it equates to 3600 hours, or close to 2 full years of unpaid work (after you’ve spent however many tens of thousands of pounds getting your degrees).

I’ve not mentioned the membership fee as it’s part of running/maintaining the organisation, and agree it is needed. And most companies pay for it anyway.

Also a personal gripe, they need to get their act together and put up to date salary ranges on their website. As a professional body it should be aiming to encourage university students to study geology, and posting starting salaries on their website that are below current minimum wage is incredibly stupid/easy to fix.

Anyone worked at Simandou (FIFO from London)

Anyone ever worked out there for Rio? Shifts are 4:2 but not much precise info online about expected annual pay.

My wife and I need help.

It’s our first, cute daughter who’s currently 5 months old. We got the sleep regression at 4 months and thought we’d got past it using (through trial and error) Ferber/CIO but now we are having the worst time of our lives. A few days ago she’s started waking up every 40 minutes like clockwork through the night.

If we were both not working we could manage with sleep shifts but I have a very demanding job that’s going to require me to be away for a week soon, and wife exclusively breast feeds. We are still using cio at night + routine of bath, milk then bed.

The more scary thing is my wife wants 3 of these Guantanamo torture devices in the future, but I’m about ready to launch my boys into the nearest nuclear reactor as I’m the most miserable I’ve ever been.

I’m trying to help my wife as much as possible during the days and nights, but after rocking baby after each wake for 20 minutes im then be greeted with open eyes and crying, no matter how smoothly I put her down. I get so frustrated I kinda scare myself, and need to leave the room.

I appreciate most posts on here give sympathies and reassurances but I really just need potential solutions at this point.

For wake windows we try to follow huckleberry at this point (4 naps, 2/2.25/2.25/2.5) but baby is sleeping like crap in naps too so a 1 hour nap is often only 30 mins.

Can someone please definitively explain what is a "Threatening Rival" vs a "Rival"? The in game descriptions are garbage and don't give me any hard numbers. As Byz, why is France not a threatening rival despite being 50% more wealthy and double my army size? While the Mamluks are threatening??

No one has CB's on each other either. This system makes 0 sense.

How the hell does imperius q work? The hitbox shown on the ground is ridiculous

Played 2 games with him so far and genuinely confused how you’re meant to get anything done. I swear the projected hitbox just lies about how far he’s lunging? Also if you lunge in a line past a target they don’t get hit?

Is it literally just a point and click on target? Given how many hyper mobile heroes there are I’m a bit confused how you’re meant to hit anything. And if you miss you’re just caught with your dick in your hand and you die?

Would appreciate any advice if someone’s been through a similar situation. I’m currently on a 482 and it’s still valid for another 11 months.

I’d requested 186 sponsorship from my previous employer. However, 9 days after being eligible for 186 I was told I was being made redundant.

My occupation is on the skills shortage list and I have another employer lined up willing to take on the sponsorship.

Can the new employer nominate me for 186 immediately or do I need to work a further 2 years with the new employer to be eligible?

Thanks in advance for any help.
