What were the clone wars theories like during the IRL time between episode 1 and 2?

So it's pretty well known that the old EU depiction of the clone wars was completely different than what George Lucas went with in episode 2. But I speculate that between episode 1 and 2 there was a time you could theorize the EU deception of the clone wars into the prequel trilogy. Clone masters and all.

So I'm just wondering if there's any surviving theories or speculation of what episode 2, and the trilogy as a whole, would've been during the time between episode 1 and 2.

Does R2-D2 ever get his thrusters back post OT?

Been reading the last command and I'm at the point where they're going through the forest and having trouble moving R2-D2 around, and it made me think of the thrusters he had during the clone wars.

I know the out of universe reason is that the thrusters weren't a thing yet. And the in universe reason is that they were stripped post ROTS. But what I want to know is if he ever got them back. As if I recall R2 never had his memory wiped so it feels like he should mention to Luke or C-3PO "Hey I used to have thrusters on me, can I get new ones" As they were quite useful during his time with Anakin and they would be useful while being the astromech of Luke skywalker.

My favorite part of dark forces rising

My general impression of Luke while reading the original thrawn trilogy is "I have no idea what I'm doing but I'm trying to be very patient about it"

This would go hard for a season/mid-season finale

Thought they might need a guest animator to do this scenario justice

Been reading the thrawn trilogy and I'm surprised how "monk" Luke powers are

It feels like in most modern displays of jedi, at least in visual media, jedi are mostly just telepaths and telekentics. Only really moving stuff around with their mind and moving very fast.

But in the thrawn trilogy Luke is doing all sorts of shit I haven't seen before. Going into a hibernated state for long X-wing journeys, trying to filter out toxins in his blood, and using a technique to scan and recall through his short term memory.

It's so weird to me seeing force powers being displayed in such a utility way. Especially since Luke mentioned that he doesn't know if he can survive a 5 story drop, in contrast to modern Jedi who just don't take fall damage.

Jasper from Steven universe is everything Jax should've been in the finale episode

In Steven universe there's an affliction known as "corruption" which is very similar to abstraction in digital circus. To the point where I wouldn't be surprised if abstraction was inspired by corruption.

In Steven universe we see someone get corrupted on screen, Jasper. And her corruption is handled much better than Jax's abstraction in my opinion. Let me explain.

First of all it was actually shown on screen, we see the painful process of corruption physically happen, it's the finale of the episode with a lot of buildup and shock. Meanwhile Jax's abstraction, HAPPENED OFF SCREEN. I didn't even know it was Jax at first, I thought it was ones from the basement.

Second, Jasper is was more deserving of it than Jax. Not only was Jasper a proper villain and a combatant, it made sense narratively. Jasper prided herself on being the perfect quartz soldier, seeing herself above the planet (earth) she was born on. Now she's falling to the same affliction that was cursed upon her birthplace. Jax abstracting, on the other hand, opens up a whole can of worms about suicide being inevitable.

Third, and probably the most important, she refuses help while corrupting. Steven tries to use his healing spit on Jasper. For while his healing spit hasn't worked on corrupted gems in the past, it might work on someone mid-corruption. But Jasper slaps his hand away and stands her ground. Refusing to accept aid, seeing it as Steven's tactic to turn gems over to his side

THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT, IF YOU WANT TO TELL A CAUTIONARY TALE OF A CHARACTER REFUSING HELP COMMIT TO IT!!! The moment Jax said "I don't want to go" it turns the message of one about how people can only improve if they let themselves be helped, to one where sometimes you really are too far gone to be saved. Which is how suicides happen in real life, where people think there's no way out and their life is a dead end. Sending the message that you're beyond saving, it's awful.

Also Jasper was humanely put in stasis after being corrupted, with their mangled mind being able to rest. Instead we have a lobotomized Jax being kept around as a family pet.

I'm not against Jax being Abstracted, but it should've happened over the course of the finale. We see the decent and Pomni trying to help him, but Jax won't let himself be forgiven. "It won't ever feel like forgiveness"

And don't give me that shit about how it's realistic, realism doesn't automatically equal good story telling. It's good if something is realistic, but it still has to be satisfying. But Jax's fate just feels cheap.

By @papertowel00_ on Twitter, colored by me

By popular demand I learned how to shade and color a manga, turns out the multiply layer is very useful for that task.

Shirt kinda came out ass, but I'm happy with the skin and hair.

Idea. Have predator fish be killable, but doing so will cause a jellyfish bloom if done too much

The dev team state they wanted to discourage players from killing the wildlife, and I get where they're coming from. But making the enemies invincible in a open world survival game is quite un-immersive, especially for smaller fish like Bulletheads. So I think they should be killable, but have consequences for killing too many.

And in my proposal, I think that consequence should be a jellyfish bloom.

If you don't know, a Jellyfish bloom usually happens during the last stage of a ecological collapse. Where the the water is low on oxygen becomes hypoxic, the perfect place for jellyfish to breed. The exact details of this is above my pay grade but the concept is there.

When you first kill a predator your PDA gives out a message "Self defense is natural, but the wildlife is already in a delicate balance. Killing too many may lead to an ecological collapse"

When you've killed up to 20% of predator fish "warning, low amount of predators detected. Continue removal will lead to ecological collapse"

Then at 40% "warning, ecological collapse imminent. any further removal will lead to eco collapse"

Then at 50% the jellyfish bloom starts.

A flood of jellyfish will flood the world and be in nearly every biome. They damage The player and vehicles alike, while clogging up turbines which affect base power. You can kill them, but they just keep respawning. This is a consequence, akin to the old bethesda games where you kill important NPCs and it dooms your world.

But there is a way to fix this, fish breeding. re-implement the eggs and breeding mechanics from subnautica 1 and below zero. Where you can breed predator fish then release them back into the world. You have to fix the environment you messed up.

And if you didn't collect any eggs before you destroyed the environment, there can be a late game area where you can collect eggs from. Like some sort of alien ARK which dispenses renewable eggs.

My idea is ambitious and may be a bit much. But having some sort of consequence for killing fish is a lot better than fish just being invincible.

Any examples of greater demons or c'tan shards being used in void warfare?

These are some of the most powerful units of their respective factions devastating entire armies, but have they ever been used in ship to ship combat before? Like a greater demon or c'tan shard flying up to a battleship and fucking it up.
