Non-Runners - how far could you run?
I read an interesting set of statistics, and I’m curious to hear from people who don’t run as a hobby or part of a regular training regime - how far do you think you’d be able to run before you’d have to stop and walk? Have you been in a situation where you’ve had to run? Any guesses or anecdotes in time or distance accepted!
Putting down others during Trail event. Should i Report?
Hey everyone hopefully this is allowed here but on the weekend i had participated and completed a 21k through the mountains at a trail event (Ultras aswel) YouYangs Trail in Victoria Australia
Day was perfect conditions and body was in great shape! I had a great time but something didnt sit right with me
There was about a 300-400m walk from the carpark to the event village, i was getting ready near my car filling my vest, snacking on a banana etc
About three cars over two guys get out, loud and obnoxious as! Now mind you its 8am, i thought ok their coffee has kicked in way too much
But i was about 5 meters behind them walking to the event village and they were giving it to people who were coming back to their cars to put jumpers, bags etc after bib collection
I heard “look at this guy all the gear for the most mid 21k youll ever see”
“What is he wearing”
“She wont run it”
As well as typical “Bro” comments trying to look impressive to his friend acting like they are the king of the world and everyone else is a peasent
Fast forward to bib collection. They got in line first i was behind, i got one guys full name also memorised his bib number to which i confirmed on the race results all matched up
Fast forward again to race start, we start and its a big ascending trail with big steps to top of the peak, some ran some hiked, about 3 quarters of the way up he was on the descent
To which i heard his loud remarks again
“Look at these losers still going up coming through” followed by a very cringe “Hoo Hoo Hoo” like the noises the American college football team makes
I just thought to myself and probably others thought too you absolute f*** head putting others down
Im not fast and im short my legs are already in overdrive, i dont care about pace etc, but i couldnt help think of others who may be doing this for a different cause (depression, grief, struggling, cancer etc)
I never wanted a man to slip on the descent more in my life
Should i report this to the organisers i think its a no brainer but i want to hear others thoughts or any similar experiences
I absolutely love the trails it brings me peace and i like trees and being curious at looking at things i find
And to Trails+ you hosted an amazing event and experience as well as the volunteers thank you so much!
Again sorry if this is not the place to post
Forget metric Vs imperial, this is the measurement standard I want
I ran to every street in/near my town with a bird in its name
I think it was worth it
Just took the bins out and now I look like I've just ran 10k
My entire face is glistening with sweat from the simple task of putting the bins out. It's not even Summer yet, why are UK heatwaves like this
shin pain
Hello! I feel pain in the place where I put my finger. The pain starts to appear after 12-15km of running, it is not unbearable pain. It is felt when touching that point or if I press on my heel. The pain is felt in the bone, in the upper part of the tibia
Please hep me!
Multiple people have probably beaten Usain Bolt's speed record while running for their lives
It just wasn't being recorded
