Angela was a terrible person for hiding Philip from Dwight.

I understand people give Angela a pass on this because she was "protecting her marriage" to the Senator and the scandal would have ruined their life - A selfish reason but a reason nonetheless.

This fails to be a valid excuse once her divorce with Senator Lipton was finalized. Through the second half of The Office, we know how important family and the concept of an heir is to Dwight. She knew Philip's father was Dwight and yet she deprived them both of each other for much longer than her cover allowed.

It's so clear that the writers were trying to show how Angela was being somewhat selfless for not telling Dwight about it after her divorce because he was with someone else and was suddenly so successful, and she was on the verge of homelessness.

Even after she gets back on her feet she doesn't tell him about Philip being his son. Why did she only want to tell him IF he was going to ditch Esther Bruegger who it turns out was much more loyal to Dwight than Angela ever was. So if Dwight didn't want to be with Angela she NEVER would have told him and Philip would grow up without a dad. Why does Angela feel like Dwight can't have a relationship with their son if he isn't in a relationship with her!?

Honestly, she was extremely narcissistic, rude, super hypocritical, selfish and all-round terrible human being for the majority of the show.

I will never understand why they cut this banger from the show.

I found this on Youtube under the office page @theoffice and I just had to share this gem with as many people as possible.

This is probably the most horrifying thing in Dying Light.. [SPOILER]

The CHASING PAST quest is so unlike any other quest in the game..

This was my first time ever attempting this quest as I am not one for side quests, I only did this for the God Hammer blueprint.

The eerie black and white as Lyle investigates the building for clues, finding out that Mike is a dog and the freak is a cannibal who killed and ate the kid and killed his dog. I genuinely don't get scared easily but this quest scarred me and is scary and unique compared to killing goons or toads or Rais's men.

If Elon Musk lived to be 120 years old

He's already 55. Say he retired on his 55th Birthday not to earn another dollar in his life, and manages to live to the ripe old age of 120 y/o :-

He could spend $42M+ USD every single day till he died and still be left with around $150K USD at the time of his death. (Still far more of a net worth than most people see their entire lives.)

That really puts into perspective just how successful he is.

DISCLAIMER - I know the majority of his NW comes from SpaceX stocks/ownership (~70%) and some from Tesla (~15%) and a small portion from X. It's just crazy to me that someone worth THAT much happened during the time I was alive, i thought trillionairs were pretty far off in the future.

I just finished ATLA and LoK

I thought they were both fantastic shows, but ATLA was definitely better. I am new to the fandom and I don't understand all the memes about Korra being the worst avatar ever. Could someone list all her mediocrities/failures or defend her so I understand why there's so much hate or if its unfounded?

Who?

This is a painting by the Russian artist Nikolay Kasatkin in 1897, depicting a tense domestic scenewhere a soldier returns from long military deployment to see his wife with a child that isn't his.

A very interesting game my friends and I play over the weekend is we display one painting each that we haven't seen before and interpret it in our own way.

None of us know anything about art but initially when we were talking about this one, I thought of this as just a veteran coming home to find his wife had found comfort through another man who had left her after he found out she was pregnant and she was raising her child alone without him. Then her husband came home - too worn out to fight about it, so he just looks at her to explain herself.

After I found out what it actually portrayed and what the title meant, I feel like I was projecting some of my insecurities and fears into my interpeting of the painting. I'm curious what those of you who have never seen this paintint before think about it?

Ghost Rider (2007) & Sequel are much better than they get credit for.

Nic Cage was the perfect cast for Johnny Blaze. A lot of people mock it, but I feel like it was a deliberate choice for him to be a jittery, eccentric daredevil cursed with a 'demon' inside him rather than a stoic man. It was a much riskier take than the overdone and tired writing of the "haunted hero" thing that almost all superhero movies attempt these days.

The movie itself occupies a sincere but fun type of space where it's not a parody but it's also not a copy-paste of source material. While most die-hard fans won't like that, I thought it was pretty cool and there were plenty of amazing scenes and a mix of CGI and practical fire effects that marvel just can't seem to replicate these days.

I am a huge fan of the Wild West + Gothic aesthetic throughout the movies and I think it just overall deserves more love for such a solid early-marvel film.

I also think that since it came out during the Nolan Batman- Reimi Spiderman days, it got overshadowed and never got to be it's own thing.

What species is this egg? [South India]

Opened the door to my garage after coming home from a week long vacation to see a small bird fly away from one of my plants. I looked closer and saw this cute little thumbnail-sized egg! There are a few questions I need answering for the safety of the bird and its egg.

  1. What species is the bird most likely?

  2. I am moving into this house tomorrow, and the stairs are the only way up to the house so I'll have to move this plant temporarily. Will this cause the bird to abandon its child?

  3. Should I worry about other animals hunting the bird and its chick? The nest is in the garage which is semi-open so a cat could definitely get in.

Why didn't the Demon King use any cool forbidden magic in his final battle against the Sins?

I feel like his playbook got old very fast. Possess his kids and fight them spiritually within their own body while also not using any significant magic other than The Ruler. I understand he's done some remarkable things before, but when he had all 10 commandments with him he repeatedly lied to zeldris and wasn't affected by his own commandment. We know that he didnt simply dismantle the commandments and absorb them, because they were floating around after he died. And did none of the seven deadly sins break even one commandments rules during the fight? It might have just gone over my head but it didnt't 100% make sense to me.

Hawk's & Wild's relationship and story is the best in 7DS lore

Hawk provides most of the comic relief in the anime, being the Captain of Scraps Disposal and Captain of the Boar Hat tavern, but to me his arc became the most powerful one in the show. Underneath the humour, he carries the crippling insecurity and ultimately realisation that he was never strong enough to protect the people he loves.

This finally breaks open in the Dragon's Judgement season episode 13 - when he spends the whole day avoiding the seven deadly sins and when Ban and Meliodas find him, he tells them that he was 'utterly useless' in the Holy War and that Elizabeth and Ban had to keep saving him over and over again. "The truth is, I realised somewhere along the way that I'm really just a pathetic, no-good weakling. And that started to make me wonder if I deserved to hang around with heroes like you guys."

Despite that, Hawk kept putting his life on the line for his friends, knowing that he wasn't anywhere powerful enough to put up a fight against monsters like Hendrickson and the reincarnated Demon King.

The other thing that really gets me is Wild's search for Hawk, who was abducted to spy on Meliodas. Even though 16 years is a long time in Britannia, it was about 8 million years in purgatory. In that time, Wild fought the Demon King 12,000 times just for a chance to find his younger brother. That's kind of what makes their reunion land so hard for me and makes me genuinely feel like they were the most under-rated and well written characters in the anime.

You have to choose a host for the zombie apocalypse, but you want humanity to win. What animal do you pick?

A new, rabies-based virus is guarenteed to emerge. It can spread to humans through bites, saliva, blood, and most importantly - through the food chain (like eating the animal/eating the animal that ate it). You must choose an animal species to be Patient Zero. Remember your goal is to give humanity the highest chance of survival.

Rules :

  1. It must be an existing thriving animal species - not extinct, critically endangered, or mythical.

  2. Every living individual of said species will be immediately infected with the virus. The chosen animal must be a part of a food chain where they CAN infact reach humans, not a creature like anglerfish which cannot realistically reach humans through the food chain.

  3. If the animal you chose goes extinct due to human culling or any other reason, humanity must live with the ecological consequences of that. Ex : If you choose bees, global agriculture would collapse by their extinction.

  4. The virus will not change the behaviour of any of the infected species. It looks, acts, and tastes completely normal until it reaches a human host.

  5. Humans infected with the virus will be asymptomatic for 30 days after contracting it but will become highly contagious after 48 hours of infection.

  6. Once you pick an animal, you'll forget you ever had to pick a species to infect with this virus - You'll be a completely normal human being with no knowledge of this beforehand.

Why didn't Estarossa die when he killed Meliodas?

In Episode 23 of season 3 (on Netflix), Grayroad reveals she is the Commandment of Pacifism and anyone who commits murder in front of her has 'all their time' stolen from them. So why doesn't Estarossa die when he killed Meliodas in her presence when all the commandments gang up on Meliodas?

I know he can't die permanently due to the curse of the Demon King and is always revived, but he definitely has to 'die' for that to happen and as per all other commandments, there aren't any loopholes to their powers. They must even follow their own commandments, like how Galand was turned to stone while trying to run away from Escanor.

Is my SIM cloned or is someone attempting to steal from me?

So this happened about 10 minutes ago around 2 am for me. I got three random login OTPs within a minute, one of them was for a loan website. I'm really worried someone is trying to steal from me and I don't know what to do. I am not knowledgeable about any of this so swift responses on next steps would be appreciated.

Michael Scott's competence was structurally undersold in the show

This might be an unpopular opinion, but after rewatching the office a few times now, I understand that a real-life boss like him is highly improbable. He has zero personal boundaries in the workplace, emotionally needy of his underlings, conflict avoidant, and reckless with how he lets everyone under him act.

However, he is extremely competent as a branch manager :

  1. He has consistently been the No.2 salesman in the company despite running a branch of DM, and has been the branch manager of the most consistently profitable branch in DM history.

  2. Jan and corporate repeatedly rely on him for numbers (like the shareholders meeting when DM was almost insolvent) despite not liking him on a personal level. David Wallace even asked Michael to share his methods with him when times were tough.

  3. He's excellent one-on-one with clients. His sales pitches the few times they show are warm, attentive, effective, and to the point. He builds real rapport with clients and remembers personal details.

  4. He's unusually good at reading people emotionally (even though he is remarkably bad at reading rooms). He acted like a father figure to Erin when she needed it, and kept Pam's art dreams alive at a critical point when no one believed in her. Most of his personal and professional issues stem from wanting too much of a bond with his coworkers. He wanted to be well-liked, included, a father figure, and a friend all at once to everyone, which made him a very funny, flawed and needy character at first glance.

I think he ages very well on rewatches, because these subtle things are difficult to catch when you're just trying to laugh at a decent sitcom.

You obtain a One Wish Willow right now.

But here's the catch - the moment you make a wish, everyone else in the world automatically gets their own.

  1. The willow will only grant wishes that are physically possible or enforcable. For example - You can't just wish to erase death, the willow just won't break to grant your wish.

  2. Any wish that contradicts another wish - no matter when it was made will cause both wishes to fail/reverse.

  3. If you choose not to make a wish, then no one else would ever get one. You are the global trigger to the ensuing chaos.

  4. The wish will work within any constraints you say, but also will try to make your wish come true in a way you'll end up regretting. For example - If you wish to be the best basketball player on your school team, everyone else might die in a bus crash or get various injuries that would make them worse than you.

If you could impose one rule upon every human on earth that they must abide by, what would it be?

  1. The rule enforces itself instantly and without any visible mechanism. No instant death, no divine punishment, nothing - It's just physically impossible to violate.

  2. The rule can't reference you, your loved ones, your property, or anything personal. It must apply blindly to every human in a way thats blind to identity.

  3. This rule will apply to every human currently alive, and to every human ever born henceforth.

  4. The rule is permanent and cannot be undone by anyone or anything, even if it has devastating consequences.

  5. The rule is interpreted precisely the way a reasonable person would understand your exact wording. No malicious literalism or generous 'spirit of the law' vs 'word of the law' interpretations.

  6. You are exempt from the rule entirely. Nobody else knows this but by acting contrary to the rule you risk exposing this knowledge to the world.

Curry Barker [Obession] is a genius director for these subtle easter eggs.

Now that Obsession has crossed the $400 million mark, I wanted to talk about some easter eggs and things we may have missed, that make such a fantastic low budget film even better. For basic context \[SPOILER ALERT\]

I will refer to Nikki as Wish Nikki whenever I mean the entity possessing and controlling Nikki.

  1. Wish Nikki is not obsessed with Bear in any human way at all. It is an entity who's sole purpose is to love bear and make sure he loves her unconditionally. It has no grasp of the realities or logic of human love. In the first 2/3rds of the movie, Wish Nikki knows that Bear loves his cat, and in an attempt to gain his love emulates cat like behaviours and movements.

For example - In the 3:45 AM scene where she was watching bear sleep, she moves like a cat. Some people have pointed out that she waits by the door for bear to come back home, literally not moving for hours while he was at work. In her vomit, you can see undigested cat kibble.

  1. Throughout the movie, Barker amply hints that Bear has a true connection with Sarah, one that he never had with either Nikki or Wish Nikki. After Wish Nikki murdered Sarah and was supposed to dump the body, she scalps Sarahs hair and tattoos and wears it to try and win Bear's affection by literally 'becoming' her.

  2. Throughout the movie, Nikki always appears on the right of Bear and Sarah is always on his left. This subtle easter egg became super obvious when Sarah says "You were supposed to kiss me, because I was on your left".

  3. Nikki's last name was Freeman. Ironic since she spent most of the movie a slave to Bear's obsession with her and what he forced her to endure even when he knew it wasn't her.

  4. The creepy Hansel and Gretel inspired monologue by Wish Nikki was Nikki's way of trying to reach out to Bear and her friends by trying to convey that she thought of Bear as a brother and was being twisted and controlled as the verses progressed to be about incestuous, obsessive sexual relationship.

  5. During a brief bedroom scene right after Bear makes his wish, we can see the clock shows 16:55. This wouldn't make sense considering the lighting did not reflect any time similar to that. However, 1655 was the year of the first judicial ruling that legally recognised a person as property for life. It shows up on screen right when Nikki permanently loses herself to Bear's possessiveness.

  6. The customer service worker for the One Wish Willow is actually voiced by Curry Barker himself.
