Has any other major movie/tv franchise basically discarded its main character the way Star Wars has Luke Skywalker?

Let's set aside qualitative judgements of on-screen post-OT Star Wars, which movies are good, which movies are bad, which shows are worth anything, etc. etc. This how the protagonist of one of the great American film trilogies has been treated in the ensuing 50 years:

-A trilogy of prequels was made, which only featured him in the final scenes as a baby

-A trilogy of sequels was made, where he only appears in one film alive where he's a curmudgeonly master to the new protagonist who dies at the end

-None of the cartoons are about him

-None of the videogames that don't directly adapt movie content are about him either

-He only appears sporadically in a couple of the live action shows as a deepfake puppet whose biggest accomplishment is aura farming in the last episode of Mando Season 2

All of this is objectively completely insane. Again, the original trilogy is still considered one of the defining landmarks of western cinema and via some utterly bizarre sequence of events its lead has just been ignored for half a century of his universe exploding in scope far beyond what George Lucas could've begun to imagine in the deserts of Tunisia in 1977.

Of course, there is an obvious retort and giant asterisk to all this: the books and comics, especially those from the pre-Disney Expanded Universe. But the cold, unfortunate truth is that other than maybe Heir to the Empire nobody that isn't totally immersed in the hardcore Star Wars fandom bubble has read those things. Please do not try to pretend that anybody in the general public knows who Mara Jade or Doctor Aphra are and what Luke did in his adventures with them. As I said the print media is a series of products for the 98th percentile of Star Wars nerd. As far as everyone else is concerned, the above sequence of bullet points is what has become of one of the great sci-fi heroes.

In the Daima continuity, Goku stands still and cycles through all his forms against an enemy from the Demon Realm twice in the span of a year

Ever since I first read The Sentry this page has always stuck with me. There's something hauntingly beautiful about it

The best part about this DLC is that people who don't play Dragon Ball Legends are finally learning about Richard Horvitz Chilled, the most unreasonably perfect casting in the history of anime tie-in videogames

It's just so good, frankly way beyond what this character from a Japan-only short to shill Super Saiyan Bardock fanservice slop deserves. I always found his design interesting in how it conveyed a more primitive, less refined and lethal member of Freeza's clan and so who could possibly be a better pick than the guy most well known for being the comedically sinister cartoon alien

Hitler and Pol Pot in hell when the Funimation executive in the 90s who ordered Tamashi tai Tamashi replaced with godawful techno sludge finally arrives

Everybody understandably wonders where LR Kid Buu is but almost as bizarre imo is the lack of an LR Namek Final Form Freeza

This has been bugging me for a while. Recall that our two current Namek Freeza LRs are for his Full Power state, but not his most immediately recognizable form.

It's crazy because his kit is so obvious: Just give him his recovery from the Spirit Bomb as a revival and his execution of Kuririn as a Finish Skill. Also his battle motion would be his iconic "one foot in front of the other while spreading his arms to either side of him" pose

My last post about Autobot leaders besides Optimus was moderately successful so time for the logical follow-up: Who's your favorite non-Megatron Decepticon leader/main antagonist? (No derivatives like Galvatron or the Beast Wars Megatrons)

Once again as Victory's strongest soldier I am obligated to choose Deathsaurus

Who is your favorite non-Optimus Autobot leader/protagonist?

For this discussion I'm excluding Optimus lookalikes such as Ginrai and the Beast Wars Maximal leaders, I'm talking characters like those pictured above (and anyone else you can think of) that are completely visually distinct.

As for me, Victory is my second favorite Transformers show so yeah of course I'm going with best dad Star Saber. That said, Rexblade looks very cool.....

It is July 2, 1991. You are a Tokyo resident, and you just read the latest Dragon Ball chapter fresh off today's Weekly Shonen Jump. What is your theory as to the identity of this mysterious sword-wielding Super Saiyan?

Recall that it won't be until a few weeks later that Trunks' name will be revealed. All you've seen is this guy with a Capsule Corp jacket become a Super Saiyan and annihilate Freeza over the course of a single chapter.

By the way a "METEOR" DLC down the road is basically confirmed now since there are a handful of OG DB characters from BT3 still missing

Reminder that when Raditz said he was gonna take Gohan it was the only time I can think of where Goku threatened to kill someone without any of his friends having actually been grievously harmed. But yes of course he's a bad father who doesn't care about his son amirite guys

DBZA and its consequences

In Chapter 41, Yamcha asks if Jackie Chun is Master Roshi. This is a subtle hint that he is a complete moron, as everyone knows that Jackie Chun is actually the Roaring Knight
