Is it rude to leave a note to neighbours?

My partner and I live in an apartment block. No one below us and a couple above us.

Obviously it’s summer and obviously we all have our windows open.

The couple upstairs are, um, intimate maybe 5-10 times a week. How do I know this?
Well, the lady shouts and screams in what can only be described as a manner only seen and heard on VPN accessible sites. Times range from afternoons, evenings, before bed and most weekday mornings at around 0700.

To be honest I am sick and tired of hearing it.

So, would it be rude to leave an anonymous note advising we can hear it and to kindly shut the fuck up?

Or can we complain to the letting agent?

Rejection

If, like me, you’ve had bad news today keep your head up.

I’m absolutely gutted and feel pretty shit but will try again next year. Hopefully see some of you back at Waterside then.. 😢

Thought after Waterside… Eagle Test

How did everyone find the Eagle Test?

For me, I feel it went pretty poorly and I feel very disappointed in myself.

I’d practiced a bit on PASS with around 95% scores but I honestly feel I’ll be lucky if I got half of that. Gonna take a bit of time to get over the rejection I’m honestly assuming will follow.

PASS or Skytest?

I have PASS for the Eagle Test and I’ve gotten to the point where I’m averaging 95%

Is SkyTest more accurate and better to practice with?
Or is PASS sufficient enough?

Thanks! This AC has been playing on my mind for weeks!!

Query for BA Pilots

Hi there,

I’m currently in the application process for the BA Speedbird Academy and I’ve made it through to an assessment centre at Waterside later this month.

Part of the assessment day will be the Eagle Test. Can anyone who has done the Eagle Test tell me what to expect?

I’ve been practicing on Pilot Assessments - PASS and it has the maths calculations as calibration rate of descent with dividing by 500 or 1000 mostly, which is fine.

I’m just looking for some pointers on any other maths that will need to be done, if the divide by x are manageable like 500 or 1000 or slightly harder and any general advice.

Thank you :)

Emailing Skyborne

Anyone had to email Skyborne relating to issues doing the tests?

I’ve emailed the support email this morning and not had a response about a big issue (to me) I had during one of my tests that has impacted results)

I know the deadline is today and I haven’t heard back at all.

Scores on the doors

Reaction speed: 1 wrong

Multi tasking: 2 wrong shapes, no incorrect maths or plane craches

Monitoring: maybe 9 or 10 wrong, was getting that and 95% ish on PASS so who knows

Sense of direction: 1 wrong

Complex control: 1 crash and 120 ish passed

Applied Numeracy: answered all

Numerical Reasoning: 14 answered

Whilst I feel they’re somewhat decent results, I really don’t know. The standard must be so high!!

Good luck everyone, hope you get the results you want. These tests have completely taken over my mind for the past couple of weeks since getting the invite to them. What will be will be, but damn I want to pass!!

Reaction Speed Test

Someone beeped their horn right outside my window and it made me jump because I was so concentrated 😂😭 it made me accidentally misclick on one of the sets of shapes. No other mistakes though.

Let’s hope 100% isn’t needed for that test!

Career change into accounting advice

Hi all,

I’m seriously thinking about a career change into accounting. I’m 28 and currently a Police Officer and have been for four years but hopefully soon starting a role with a local authority just to get me out of policing for now.

I’ve read that it isn’t necessary to complete an Accounting and Finance degree, but I’m wondering what the best route in would be?

I’ve been told / looked at doing AAT levels 2, 3 and 4 to start. I have, however, read that it’s possible to start from level 3.

What sort of roles could I get once I complete level 4?
I’d plan to have my current job as long as possible whilst doing AAT to keep my pay. I’m currently on around £40k.
What salary can I get expect from entry level accounting roles (or even what roles!) and how long will pay progression take?

What would be the best route after this?

Some have suggested getting into fraud investigations and / or forensic accountancy with a policing background.

I have GCSEs, A Levels and a Level 4 (first year) uni qualification that I got whilst doing a Policing degree when I joined the police on the degree apparent ship route, but I stopped after the first year as my force decided it was no longer mandatory.

Career change help

Best degrees of courses for someone looking for a career change.

Im late 20s and my background is primarily in policing for the past four years.

I’ve thought about Project Management, Accounting, investigator type roles. I’m not limited to these. Basically I hate the police job and can’t do it for the rest of my working life.

I can’t lie, I’m quite money orientated at this point. I want something that I can earn well in to live comfortably.

I’d like to think there’s some transferable skills in policing to something out there, I’m just at a loss as to what.

I’m reasonably intelligent and don’t mind numbers. Don’t want a physical trade.

What degree or courses could I do?

Ive wondered if accounting & finance could be a good one but I really don’t know.

What degree to do

I’m late 20s and unsure what degree to do

I’ve been a police officer for 4 years but I’m done with it. I want out and I want a new career.

I’d say I’m reasonably intelligent but haven’t done anything relatively academic since A Levels, which I have in Economics, Eng Lang and Psychology.

I’m wondering what degrees lead to good job opportunities? I’m also quite money driven at this point in life.

Project management has been a consideration as a future job. But I’m also not discounting accountancy or similar.

Thoughts?

Hi all,

I’ve been skiing twice, both times in France.

The first time was La Plagne which we loved, it was just a bit quiet on the apres side.

The second time was this year, in Tignes. Stayed in Val Claret. Being the second time skiing, I feel I progressed quite well. I was doing reds from Day 2 onward and my favourites were Double M, OK and Orange. I found the blues in Tignes quite a bit steeper than those in La Plagne.
We loved Tignes for the apres and liked that it had a bit more of a buzz.

Am now thinking of next year’s trip.

Where would good recommendations be with the following:

- decent red and blue coverage
- good apres
- around 3-4 hrs max transfer time
- similar cost range (or cheaper) than France

We’re currently thinking Andorra but not sure.

I don’t want to get my hopes up and think this means I’ve passed the interview stage, as I’m fully expecting to still get a rejection email!

u/AbsolutelyWingingIt — 4 months ago

Wondering if anyone has heard back after their interview, be it a rejection or good news?

I know the end of test said we’ll hear within two weeks of submission, but wondering if the two week mark will be this week for anyone?
