Looking for work in or around North Phoenix

Hey everyone! I moved to North Phoenix about 5 weeks ago and am new to Arizona. Unfortunately, I was recently let go from the job I took after moving here, so I’m looking for a new opportunity.

I have 10 years of experience at Apple and 5 years at Nike, with a strong background in customer service, technical support, troubleshooting, and sales. I also have a year of security experience.

I’m looking for a stable career with stable income and I am open to IT support, customer service, sales, or similar roles.

If anyone knows of companies hiring in the North Phoenix/Phoenix area, I’d really appreciate any leads. Thanks!

Damaged new LG TV screen — what are my options?

Bought an LG TV today with home delivery. I thought the screen had a protective film, tried peeling the corner, then realized it wasn’t a screen protector and stopped.
Now I notice a yellow glow in the top-left corner when the screen is black. I’m assuming the pressure caused it.

Can Best Buy do a home pickup/exchange and deliver a replacement? My car is too small to fit the TV, which is why I had it delivered.

Should I try an exchange, or am I out of luck since I caused it?

Failed SIE — advice for retake?

I was told I had 4 weeks to study, but found out I needed to pass 2 weeks before my start date. I only had 2 weeks and failed yesterday.

I have 30 days until my retake. Should I reread everything, focus on weak areas, or just do practice exams?

I have Achievable and PassPerfect. What worked for those who passed on their second try?

EMT in Phoenix – wait for in-state tuition or start now?

Just moved to Phoenix this week and looking into EMT school (Maricopa near Paradise Valley area).

I found out I’m out-of-state for 1 year, so tuition is about $372/credit. EMT program is ~16–17 credits, so roughly $6K total + materials and etc.

After 1 year, I’d qualify for in-state at about $1.6K total.

Trying to decide:

  • Wait 1 year to save money
  • Start now and pay out-of-state
  • Or look at private EMT programs

If private is an option, are there any good/affordable EMT schools in Phoenix that are worth it? Or is Maricopa still the best route overall?

Appreciate any advice.

Only 14 days to pass the SIE and I'm overwhelmed

I got a job offer that requires me to pass the SIE before I start. I was given about a month, but they want me to take the exam two weeks before my start date, so I realistically only have 14 days to study.

The company provided PassPerfect, but I'm struggling to retain anything I'm reading. I bought Achievable and the SIE For Dummies book, and I've been watching YouTube videos too. Now I feel like I'm jumping between resources and not making progress with any of them.

I have no finance background, and honestly it feels like none of this is sticking.

For those who passed the SIE in a short amount of time, what worked best? Should I focus on Achievable, PassPerfect, practice questions, or something else?

Any advice would be appreciated.

New to North Phoenix (85024) — tips for a first-timer?

Moving to North Phoenix (85024) early July due to a job. Mid-30s, not into downtown/nightlife.

I’ve visited a couple times, but I know that’s not the same as actually living there.

What should I expect day-to-day? Especially with the heat/weather — how do people actually deal with summers?

Also any go-to spots nearby (food, coffee, gyms, hiking, chill stuff) + anything I should watch out for?

Appreciate it 🙏

Vanguard: $5K Bonus… but Only 2 Weeks for the SIE? K

Am I overthinking Vanguard’s SIE timeline?

Got an offer about a month in advance, but they recommend taking the SIE ~2 weeks before the start date to get the $5K bonus.

So realistically… that’s only about 2 weeks to study?

Feels like a lot of material for that timeframe. Is the bonus there because it’s actually hard to pass that fast, or do most people manage it?

Anyone been through this? If so, what was your go to route on studying?

2 weeks to pass the SIE — how should I study?

Hey everyone,

I’ve got about 2 weeks to pass the SIE due to a job deadline and just got an offer. Just started and honestly feel lost.

Should I:
Read + take notes, then quiz?
Or read → quiz → then review what I got wrong?

If you had 2 weeks, what would your study method be?

Thanks in advance 🙏🏼

How are people staying afloat after being unemployed?

How are people actually staying afloat while unemployed for long periods?

I’ve been job hunting for about a year now with no luck, and I genuinely don’t understand how some people are making it work for 1–2+ years.

For me personally, I’ve had to sell off stocks from my previous job and now I’m even dipping into my 401(k) just to cover bills since I live alone. It’s not sustainable long-term, and it’s honestly stressful.

So I’m curious—what are you guys doing to stay afloat? Savings? Family support? Side hustles? Debt? Something else?

Not judging at all, just trying to understand how people are managing in this market.
