I recently finished working on Beta 3.1. During development, it turned out that the worlds built for the Tiktaaliks way of life aren’t like ours, but in the end, the Tiktaaliks learned to use the physics of their world in a way that probably seemed cooler to them than just walking in the direction they were looking; they began moving toward cells with greater resistance so that they would be launched in the opposite direction, like from a slingshot. And this happened repeatedly across many runs. Right now, I’m developing an MM model called Acanthostega, which is a preset of mechanisms that allows us to explore not only the immortal psyche of the Tiktaaliks, but also the Acanthostega, who possess the Tiktaalik psyche; but Acanthostega will be able to be born, reproduce, die, and pass on genes and experience to their offspring—if, of course, they develop any thoughts about caring for them. I don’t know what will happen🤷🏻♂️, but the very possibility of exploring this is already quite motivating.
The world now has structured terrain, resources are distributed across different areas, and environmental forces affect how the creatures move.
There’s also a new Undercover mode. The researcher can enter the same world using a separate physical body, move around and interact with the creatures directly.

This is Mechanistic Mind, a project created by my husband.

I want more people to know about it.
What is it?
It is a virtual creature living in an artificial environment. The environment affects it, and the creature receives simple signals from it and reacts in some way — for example, by moving or waiting.
Inside, the creature has simple mechanisms: it senses its environment, remembers a little of its past experience, notices recurring patterns, tries to predict what will happen next, and based on that, chooses an action.
After it acts, things change, it receives new information, and the cycle repeats.
At the same time, it was not given predefined emotions, desires, or fears.
The purpose of this project is to see whether these simple mechanisms, together with the creature’s accumulated experience, can produce more complex behavior that begins to resemble individual elements of learning and intelligence.
My husband has posted about this project before, but he used AI to help create the text and description. People were rude to him because of that.
So I decided to write about it myself.
The only thing I am asking AI to do here is translate my own text into English.
