Hydrolysed dog food recommendations

Hi, my pup is currently undergoing some investigations to find out why she refuses to eat. On the mean time the vet has advised I start a hydrolysed dog food as one thing we are sure of is she is reacting to all proteins shortly after being introduced to them.

She recommended Purina HA but my pup won’t touch it, not even a sniff. She was already extremely fussy, we think this may be due to the fact she associates food with feeling unwell.

I need a food with a strong scent or slightly more palatable than a soya recipe.

Does anyone have any recommendations of a hydrolysed chicken recipe that is more suited for a picky eater

I am uk based

Many thanks

Puppy with anal gland issues

Hi, just after some advice really on what the issue may be. So my pup is 6 month old toy Cavapoo. She has allergies to chicken/turkey/beef and white fish. She came with Giardia which took a toll on her gut. However she is doing well for the most part and has probiotics to help strengthen her immune and gut after Giardia.

Every so often she scoots her bum, I can feel a lump under the skin at the very top of her bum, just under her tail. I took her vets a couple of weeks ago and one was quite full, she emptied it and didn’t seem concerned about anything else. However she still continued to scoot, google tells me this could be a food allergy causing inflammation and that they are not necessarily full. However she’s doing so well on the food she’s on (different dog uk fresh food) her teary eyes cleared up, not much itching, and her hot ears have gone to normal. So I really don’t think this could be a food allergy like google suggests.

Her poops have always been firm, I would say perfect poops! So I have no idea what the problem could be?

Could it be another food allergy even with no other symptoms?

Also is there a duct at the top of the bum? I thought that were 4 & 8 o’clock position?

I she is female 6 months old.
No diarrhoea or sickness
Slight itching but nothing too bad

Hope this all makes sense

Thanks

6 month old Cavapoo malting

Hi, my 6 month old Cavapoo never malted before, iv just brushed her and there’s a lot of hair in the brush. She’s bathed by the groomers monthly.

Could this be her puppy coat coming away? Is that even a thing?

Many thanks

Puppy with Giardia

Hi all, my puppy has been off her food for many weeks now and it’s getting increasing worse. She always seems like she has an upset tummy like licking her lips and yawning a lot. Low energy but nothing too worrying, I think this is more lack of food because when she does finally eat a little she’s full of energy for while.

Her stools are fine, always firm, but I decided to order a Giardia test off amazon. It immediately came back positive, I went straight to the vets and she just prescribed panacur for 5 days. I had done lots of googling before hand and noticed a lot of people say it only clears with the antibiotics along side, I mentioned this and my vet said they very rarely prescribe antibiotics for Giardia as it doesn’t kill the Giardia. Is this correct?

My vet also advised we do an in lab stool sample screen as she doesn’t trust the amazon test. Can these give false positives?
