Claude has enabled me to make apps for personal use and its kinda scary

I took a Java course in college, so I understand the basics of coding and can generally follow how it works. I also have some experience with Python. For example, on my YouTube channel, I transcribe videos and feed the transcripts into AI to generate descriptions for videos in a playlist. I used to run faster-whisper through the terminal, but that became annoying. So now, I created my own whisper transcription app using Claude Code.

Claude Code is surprisingly impressive because it can test things in the background and analyze how they actually work. It can even say, almost like a human, "I didn’t like the way that worked; let me try something different." The ability to manipulate the environment and build sandboxes before deployment is incredibly useful. If you have a working system and an idea for improvement, Claude Code recreates it in a sandbox, applies the update, and tests it before deploying to production. That way, if something breaks, it doesn’t affect the real system.

This is pure magic. Truly amazing.

Broke 100k Marker, Very Proud

What's funny is just a few years ago if you told me it was possible to even be worth $0, I wouldn't have believed you. But I changed myself and my attitude and decided to take my finances seriously, and over the last 5 years, I went from a negative net worth to $0 and then just accumulating from there. I'm not rich, and I don't make a lot of money, but using my brain and being smart about money has completely changed my life. I bought my first house at 30 (closed last week), and I'm very excited. If you see this and are feeling like it's not possible, it is possible. It's hard. Very hard. But totally worth it. And yes, this includes my house and the mortgage.

Arena 9's Audio Channel Routing Issues

Has anyone found a fix for the channel routing issues? I was playing last night and it was worse than usual. It would route all sound to the rear only, then no audio at all for a few minutes then it would play out the front left for a bit then full surround and then back to rear only. I've had this issue since I got them but it wasn't chronic. It makes it very difficult to enjoy when it does this. Im hoping someone else found a fix for this?

Seller is asking 15% more than the last sale 3 years ago on an 840 sqft condo with no updates and end-of-life mechanicals. Am I crazy for thinking this is overpriced?

First time buyer. Looking at an 840 sqft 2BD/1BA listed at $189,900. Love the location but the numbers aren't adding up.

This exact unit sold in August 2023 for $165,000. That listing had an actual updated kitchen and bath. This one claims the same thing but the "update" is a wood shelf over the washer/dryer. Fridge and dishwasher are original to the 1973 build (i think I couldn't find the sticker as the dishwasher was running and the fridge was completely full) but they looked old.

Dug into the mechanicals:

AC: ~2004

Furnace: 2008

Water heater: 2023 (only new thing)

HVAC replacement is $8-14k. Redfin has it at $168k.

They want $25k more than it sold for 3 years ago, less updated, with end of life mechanicals. Coming in at $165-168k with all this documented — reasonable or will the market just laugh at me?

Update: to answer some of the questions:

No offers after 5 days on market with offers due today in 1 hour. Only 2 showings (me included). HOA is $330/mo in a desirable location where people want to live and properties go fast. This one was listed for $189,900 where the two other ones I offered on and lost were listed for $149,900 and $169,000 which had updates and looked WAY better.

Update 20:17pm: Seller got no offers and is unwilling to negotiate. I am not putting in an offer unless seller is willing to negotiate but seems they are set on this price and thus im not interested. Oh well. There will be more!!!

My first attempt at doing pets

I knew about pets and have known about them for a long time but just could not be bothered to engage with it at all doing pet minigames and hatching and re-hatching a million times just did not seem worth it.

Here's my first attempt at getting an actual pet going. What do you think? And my stats overall.

What's funny to me is that at level 80, I have just ~30 damage less than my 130s as an ICE WIZARD.

Death - 102
Storm - 112
Fire - 94
