im so confused looking at the player count

so the last update came out and everyone just stopped playing all together or were banned, and for 5 days sand lost about 70 or 80% of its player base and now looking they all came back a few days ago ALL OF A SUDDEN, this dosent seem a little "sus" to anyone? i know back when i played it was cheaters and teamers every game. i might get one "decent" fight an hour if i was lucky and i KNOW its not gotten better just reading through the forum and seeing all the complaints, are those just cheaters and teamers coming back from a ban wave because i dont understand how such a mass influx of players unanimously left and returned at the same time without some kind of new content or something dropping, what is that all about?

Add a small fighting pit into lobby

Just a small dirt circle or something to duel. There's always that one guy that takes 20 minutes to do the most miniscule stuff and I don't even feel like playing anymore. This way you can have something to do while you wait. Something small, not to be substituted for the training grounds

ShadowStrix needs a nerf bad

This is coming from someone who mained him the first few days, i got to lvl 12 effectively, i almost never lost a fight against a single person, its just TOO easy, just spam your attacks and stuns and thats it, bam you won. If you want to play the game on easy mode thats it. a monkey could win pvp fights in that class, i will say that pve is a different story though.

Honestly just re enable the capturing so i can kill teamers

EVERY. single game ive played this week i've died to teamers, i dont care if you havent dealt with it as i always see the comment, your probably out avoiding people in voyage. i actively just want to pvp and every single time their buddy comes to help. just let me extract my ship, take theirs and use it to kill their friend, im sure that would piss em off and think "screw this game" cause honestly i dont see to many good people left in the community besides the new guys that you see stopping at boats. Im collectively tired of hearing / talking about this issue, i rather lose my trampler to a no clip exploit then 2 butt buddies that suck so bad they need double the resources as everyone else to compete. (not referencing organic teaming)

first game on, died to 3 teamers within 5 minutes, dies every game last night to teamers.

was playing my new game and thought i wanted to get into a trampler fight, within 5 minutes of logging on, i get demolished by teamers, the only people left are newbs and a bunch of sour losers that got stomped so many times they resort to cheating, then theres the 5% that actually do what is intended. i think that 5 minutes was enough, gl with yalls game. its hard to see but theres another trampler in my smoke in the first pic.

Arena mode

As more people fill out the tech tree their is less looting and more noob stomping, people want to fight.

Arena: 2 players / teams go toe to toe in a severely reduced map size, winner gets the other person's trampler (parts) and anything they brought in with it, they don't have to loot, just kill all players + trampler.

Three tiered matchmaking, you will be placed in the tier with the highest tier compartment on your ship even just one.

There is no lootables around only random ammo crates if you run out.

I could keep going but I think this would solve the pvp itch without ruining people's day and also get more of it as I get tired of roaming miles for an opponent.

I'm sure there is much people could add to this as it's just a rough draft

Every Single Game I Played Tonight, I Died to Teamers

I'm that guy... the game is officially dead.

I did the calculations, and the player base has fallen by about 90% in the first month. Half the remaining player base seems proud that they're cheating because they want to make other people miserable after getting curb-stomped in 1v1s. For weeks it was cheaters, now it's teamers. Most of the legitimate players are just sick of it.

The developers did well for an indie company, but the game is unplayable. It's filled with bugs, exploits, and people abusing every advantage they can find. The craziest part is I've never seen so many people openly proud of cheating. Legitimately proud. I can only imagine what their day-to-day lives are like to have that little self-respect.

I'm sure this post will get downvoted into oblivion because the majority of the people left are exactly who I'm talking about. They all come together to defend this behavior while pretending nothing is wrong.

You can still get a few wins if you avoid everyone, hit one POI, and leave, but in the long run you'll lose more to cheaters than you'll ever gain. That's not fun. I genuinely can't understand how anyone enjoys such a monotonous gameplay loop with so little actual challenge.

I keep trying to come back because I want to like the game, but every single match reminds me why I quit the last time. At this point, I don't even care if the developers eventually fix everything. The damage is already done. Once a game gets a reputation for being overrun with cheaters and exploiters, it's incredibly hard to convince people to come back.

I'll probably play for another day or two just to kill some time, but I'm honestly looking forward to putting this game down. It has attracted some of the grimiest, most toxic people I've ever run into in gaming, and after a while you can feel that negativity rubbing off on you. That's not the kind of community I want to spend my time around.

falling through the floor every 30 seconds

game is still unplayable, there are SO MANY, just dont do that cause the game screws up scenarios, what are we doin here? every time i get off my wheelhouse i just fall straight through the trampler, so whether im running away or chasing. im screwed. EVERY 30 seconds im just running after my trampler till it turns off, 2 people got away that were so close to death just because the game cant keep its head on straight.

screw this game.

everyone in storm in the lobby wants to extract in the last 10 minutes every time, god forbid anyone gets the dreadnought, these guys will hide all game just to do dumb shet like this. i bring in big expensive shet with a black key to do it and im killed by storm because everyone's butt hurt they dont get to go next and keep canceling everyone's exfill, i fight this game. more than i fight actual players. if you scroll through the discord its just a million people saying they died to premeditated teamers, the first MONTH this game was out was plagued by cheats so severe the population dropped by like 80%. I cant WAIT for this other game to drop tomorrow, i keep coming back because there are no good games out right now besides your basic B call of duty or battlefield or whatever. they did good for a small indie company, but it is what it is at this point. my friends refused to even install the game after the cheaters update and honestly they probably made the right choice

Black Box Witness Protection Program

If you've done a decent amount of PvP, you've probably experienced this.

You kill someone, repair a few things, then head over to finish the job. You rush in, kill the player one last time, and... lo and behold, the black box is missing.

It's not the end of the world, but it is a problem.

I get the pettiness behind it, but people are hiding these things really well. I'll spend 10 minutes searching, knowing they didn't have time to run very far from the rig and come back, yet it's nowhere to be found.

Personally, I got over that mentality a long time ago in extraction shooters. If you're hiding your loot because you're mad you lost, why not just let the other player have the win? At least someone gets the loot. It takes a lot of effort to hide it when you're probably going to die anyway, and there's still a pretty good chance it won't even work.

That said, where are people hiding these things to the point that they practically don't exist? Are people glitching them into places where they're unobtainable? Because if that's the case, that's literally the definition of loser behavior.

So come on, guys. What are the crazy MacGyver-level hiding spots you've found that I just can't figure out?

My Cannons Have Entered the Backrooms

I'm sure a lot of you have experienced this. Someone boards your rig and throws your cannons into the dunes. It's becoming a real problem.

I'm fighting for fun, but at this point I'm basically trading a pair of worn cannons for a bucket of chicken and a Natty Daddy. After enough runs, I can't keep doing it. 😂

Even when I win the fight, I look around and the cannons are nowhere to be found. I've spent 10 minutes at a time just walking in circles with my binoculars out, and they never show up.

Maybe after the enemy trampler is destroyed, the cannons could get highlighted or tagged after 30 seconds. The only exception would be if someone is actively carrying one away.

Seriously, people almost never have any loot after they die. It's like 1 out of every 7 players has anything worthwhile, regardless of how big their rig is. I'm mostly looking for pneumatic parts and ship-building materials so I can keep PvPing, but the only way I ever get them is by farming them myself because nobody loots effectively.

I've been purposely running small rigs in Storm Dive and pushing anyone I see into a 1v1. I lose my cannons in about 50% of my matches without even dying. Sure, I throw other people's cannons too, but then we're both just standing there like, "Welp... this is awkward."

I'd really appreciate some kind of utility that lets us find our own cannons after a battle or after a short timer. Having them randomly disappear into the dunes forever makes games stressful for no reason.

How do you calculate the range on weapons?

im very confused as the gun says its a sniper, but the ammo has no range? and vice versa for the other gun, plus others not mentioned

Why Is Everyone in Extraction Shooters So Angry?

I'm just out here having fun. I enjoy the game. It's great. But why do games like these attract so many sissy twinks that cry about everything?

I'm fighting this guy, and he is nonstop, literally berating me the entire time, throwing out insults I haven't heard since middle school, all in a grown man's voice with so much emotion behind it. Like, bruh... I'm just chillin', having a good time. You good?

Deny. Deny. Deny.

Three more minutes of nonstop trash talk and insults without me even responding. It got to the point where I finally told him, "Look, bruh, I'm not even gonna fight back. You can have this stuff. It clearly means more to you than it does to me because the amount of emotion coming out of a grown man over this is honestly astounding. I'll just go back to the lobby, hit three buttons, and make another mech. It's really not that big of a deal."

It's like some people want so badly to be recognized by someone or something, but they have no idea how to go about it.

I don't know if this is a vent, a rant, or just real talk, but it's literally every extraction shooter. You can play almost any other genre and not have to deal with this crap.

I'm honestly not even in the mood to play anymore because people constantly try to pass off aggressive negativity as entertainment. It isn't. It's loser behavior. If you really need to attack someone's character over a video game, go hit a punching bag or something because this isn't going to fix whatever you've got going on.

Why does every fight feel so personal, like I've backhanded their mother or something?

Are people with over 30 hours in this genre even happy? Because I genuinely can't tell by playing with y'all.

I've got enough materials sitting in my inventory to build a bunch of new mechs, and I still don't even feel like logging in. Every other fight turns into someone screaming over proximity chat like their life depends on it. At some point, that just sucks the fun out of the game.

I really dont understand the hitboxes in this game.

ex: mid fight, i try to shotgun turret the other guy on his turret, does nothing but armor damage. he does it to me a half a second later, instant kill. this is how it played out ever. single. time. for like 7 deaths. what on earth equals he hits me but i cant him doing the same exact thing. it makes zero sense, it should either work or it does not. we are upclose, its not a matter if i hit him, it was dead on.

No Good Deed Goes Unpunished

Every single time I try to help someone, they try to kill me.

I saw a guy in a big lifted truck chasing a Grumpy walker that had all its legs destroyed, so I charged in to help. Mid-fight, the Grumpy turned around and teamed up with the guy chasing him just to kill me, then started talking trash.

Why?

If I hadn't shown up, that guy would've stolen your loot. Instead of helping the person trying to help you, you sided with the guy who was already trying to kill you. I'm willing to bet that as soon as he repaired, he turned around and killed you too.

I'm pretty sure they were teaming, though. They weren't talking in proximity chat, so there's a good chance they were already in Discord together.

I actually tried teaming once way back when the game first came out, before everyone knew about it, just to see if it worked. It was easy, first try. We didn't kill anyone because that's loser behavior. Needing to throw away your integrity over a video game just isn't worth it. It reminds me of the kid in high school who only picked on the smaller guy because he couldn't handle a fair fight.

I wouldn't even make this post, but this has happened over and over again.

From now on, I'm done helping new players. If you're getting chased, I'm letting it play out. Too many of you end up turning on the people trying to save you. At this point, you're worse than the guys running you down.

Lesson learned

I finally decided to play a Storm Dive after weeks of doing Voyages. I killed three, maybe four, Tramplers and looted the Dreadnought. There were three minutes left in the match, so I hit exfil, ran back into the ship for one more crate, and some dude had been hiding the ENTIRE time. He canceled the extraction at the last second right before the match ended.

Of all the ways to die...

Anyway, lesson learned. Gotta guard the radio.

My Pristine Cannons Keep Disappearing

I don't know about anyone else, but every. single. time. I bring in a pristine cannon, it just vanishes when I turn around for 20 seconds, and I can't explain it.

I was just in a game. Second fight, same spot. I'm winning. I died, and there's a decent chance he boarded me in those 10 seconds and took it. HOWEVER... it's not on anyone's ship, it's not on the ground anywhere, and he wouldn't have had time to run around with it. I kid you not, both of these Tramplers, as big as they are, only had five food and black boxes. Zilch. Nothing.

Some mysterious person would've had to take it all somehow, but even if it was one of the guys, there's no way he could've run off with two Tramplers' worth of cargo with his bare hands. We fought at Venedig, so after searching for like 15 minutes for my cannon, or literally anything at all, I cut my losses and went into the POI... and even that stuff was gone, with no Tramplers in sight.

The only thing I can think of is someone found a way to stay under the radar with the teleport cheat. Things have actually been really clean since the last update, so I don't know... but this was all too coincidental. The odds of everything being empty, both the players' cargo and the POI, just felt a bit fishy.

So I extracted with like 87 mechanical parts... yay...

I'm telling you, every. single. time. I bring in a pristine cannon, it just randomly disappears at some point during the match.
