Decided to reanimate this one because the original version wasn’t really good in my opinion.

Sphinx (Anthro Sapien) - The main species of Memento Mori, they’re this world’s version of humans and can often resemble a variety of different animals.

Flesh Demon (Caro Peccatrix) - Enraged spirits who have undergone reanimation as a means to create a physical body for them to inhabit. Unlike Sphinxes, they‘re almost entirely hostile and often experience extreme cannibalistic tendencies.

They act very similar to wild predators and have similar brain activity to those undergoing necrotic brain damage. They can also peel off their own skin to reveal their true appearance, resembling that of a velociraptor comprised entirely out of flesh and bone.

On rare occasions it is possible to befriend a flesh demon by feeding them raw meat.

A concept I never really explored when it comes to my version of Mal0 is how the thing even works in the first place, but I‘ve finally came up with an idea on how this version of Mal0 would work theoretically!

It’s starts with the victim downloading the Mal0 app. First the app bricks the user’s phone, causing the device to be entirely unusable. For the first few days the victim will think that they downloaded a virus and simply moves on with their life, gets a new phone, and things go on as normal. But little do they know, the app they downloaded isn’t just the usual malware. In reality, it was simply a gateway to allow Mal0 to enter into the real world. Beginning the first stage of the hunt.

Stage 1 - The victim will begin to get messages from an unknown number with pictures of places the victim had visited with Mal0 hiding somewhere in the image. The victim receiving these messages will think this is just an elaborate joke and block the person, only for the person to keep sending messages to them. In reality this isn’t a regular person at all, it’s just Mal0 messing with their victim.

Stage 2 - The victim will begin to get strange phone calls from the same number sending them the pictures of Mal0. Whenever the victim picks up the phone, all they’ll hear is either garbled noise or distorted laughter. At this point, the victim may start to catch onto the fact that someone or something is stalking them. But they unfortunately can’t do anything except dealing with it.

Stage 3 - At this point, Mal0 has begun to start manifesting into the reality and will do whatever it takes to keep their victim constantly paranoid. At first the victim will start seeing the apparition of Mal0 in the darkest places of their house, but whenever they turn to look at them they simply vanish. Then the victim will start to see Mal0 in pictures they taken themselves and on rare occasions Mal0 can even appear in recordings. Eventually the victim starts to hear growling and barking in the dark rooms of their house, causing the victim to avoid those spaces entirely.

Stage 4 - After a month of constantly tormenting their victim, Mal0 has fully manifested into reality, taking the appearance of a large black wolf with an exposed skull. In the darkest hours of the night, Mal0 will begin to stalk their prey who is most likely still awake due to insomnia caused by the entity. Once Mal0 has found them, they immediately pounce on their prey. But unlike usual predators who begin to rip and tear at their prey to consume them, instead they simply hold their prey in place on the ground as they begin to suffer a fatal seizure or heart attack due to coming into contact with Mal0. After the victim has perished, Mal0 then collects the victim’s soul and returns back to the digital realm.
