My setup, I don't really like to use recipes. I think I can do better in post, or without any processing.

My oreston is the early formula (later ones are the same as a pentacon 50/1.8), and I definitely prefer this lens over anything else I have tried. It's on the camera 80% of the time. It's better than my primoplan, Leica lenses, Helios 44k4 etc.

For wides I use the small tamron 20-40/2.8. I have not needed wider than 20mm.

And I have the 180/4.5 laowa macro, viltrox 85/1.8 as well.

this lens seems huge for what it is. pretty long.

i just serviced the film back, new light seals and cleaned all the gears in there.

so i had a lot of problems figuring out what is compatible.

It was so hard finding a flash that worked with this U2 body (f75) i bought 3 of them, this is the only one that did TTL with this body.

the flashes that work with my nikon ZF are incompatible, and i bought 2 more expensive ones trying things out extremely frustrated. SOOOO apparently this very cheap Sunpak 5000 (who i think is out of business) is pretty much the best one that i could find.

i find the hand strap is best for ergonomics on this body, and in the owners manual nikon said they offered one just for it. (its obsolete and i did not see one for sale)

And i had to get this nice nikon AF-S 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 VR for a complete kit, along with the screw drive Tamron 28-75/2.8 (i do not need vr for those focal lengths.) the Tamron is great, on film. no complaints, and its so much smaller than the equivalent nikon glass.

KMZ APO 135/2.8? it sounds lovely.

if i do a search of russian 135mm i get Tair 11a, or Jupiter 37a, Jupiter 11, so whats the story on this?

older M42 fast 35mm lenses are VERY rare. i did a quick search on this and could not find much. no real examples of its character.

does anyone know about this? it sounds very nice.

it came with a lens hood, i did not use it here.

anyone used it? although the meter works and is accurate, the light seals are shot so i have not been using this body

seems soft and dreamy. This lens is coated but its single coat, factory experimental wartime coating. no scratches on it or cleaning marks though!

its a lens that has to be thought of as unique. swirls like crazy at near (but not closest) to medium distances. actually its stronger at medium than close up like these pics. i included one at min focus, zero swirls.

do you like this bokeh? the helios 44 is far less busy! and this was a more modern lens.

It's about perfect in feel. Why is this pentax lens $60 and the Helios 44 about a hundred dollars more? I had to buy 3 to get a good copy.

here are my 2 other k mount lenses. the vivitar is sharp and all but I have to be in the mood for it's rendering. lots of swirly bokeh

im going to try using the 77/1.8 more. but this one is very satisfying .

so yeah both the body and the lens are cosina made, but it balances so much better on my MX, its really front heavy with this.

This K mount lens is very odd, it has this ring here, i placed it in front of the lens.

the ring is also the filter holder and holds the lens cap.

the lens also came with a special close up filter that is only supposed to work with this lens. it only fits in that ring. While i have the filter, i have never used or needed it.

it really renders a lot like the 77/1.8 and that's no complaint!
