Northern Illinois [details in post]

Saw three of these falcon or harrier shaped birds at dusk earlier. The size was hard to tell, as they were VERY high up, but likely around coopers hawk size? maybe smaller, maybe falcon size, really can't tell. The shape seemed like a northern harrier, with the thinner V type wings, however I read that harriers fly low looking for rodents. These birds were flying high and extremely erratically, very fast flapping and quick directional changes. If any bird fits this shape and behavioral description and can be found in northern illinois, I'd love to know.

What do you call the World Cup “suit” in your language?

Did you notice that Duolingo calls its World Cup outfits "suits"?

We should note that the costume is NOT just the shirt; it also includes shorts, glasses with lenses showing the country flag, and face paint. It’s a full-body thing!

In the gaming world, I think this would be called a skin?

I think Duolingo calls it a “suit" because it's like the hot dog suit: it’s what Duolingo calls any costume that your avatar wears.

I think in British English, it might be called a “football kit”?

What do you call it in your language?

What’s this seabird?

I saw these at the beach when I was in California a while back, but they’re less common than the usual all-white gulls around. They make a sort of high pitched honking noise and sometimes throw their heads up which always makes me laugh.

Love for Duolingo (consistency 💪)

The biggest thing with any habit formation or learning is consistency. Teaching your brain that “this is what we do every day”. Language learning, working out . . . whatever it might be. Duolingo does this better than anything I’ve ever seen, in almost 50 years of self improvement! 😍🦉
