17M from Pakistan — Looking for a longterm friendship, not a dry conversation

Hey everyone!

I'm 17 years old and I'm from Pakistan. I'm just looking to meet some genuine people and hopefully make a long-term friend.

A little about me: I'm a trader, I enjoy learning new things, watching random videos, having deep conversations sometimes, and also just talking about everyday life. I'm not looking for anything weird, just someone who's kind, honest, and enjoys chatting.

It would be awesome if you're also from Pakistan since the time zone is similar, but anyone is welcome if you're looking for a real friendship.

If you're around my age (17–21), feel free to send me a message and introduce yourself. Tell me a bit about who you are and what you enjoy doing.

Looking forward to meeting some cool people. :)

The rickshaw driver's son got into uni, where is yours?' – My 80 acres landowner grandfather shames my father but never helps us.

I’m a 17-year-old guy from Pakistan, and I feel like I’m losing my mind.

My grandfather is an 80-acre landowner and a businessman. He’s not struggling. But he has never helped my father—not with rent, not with bills, not even emotionally. Recently, my father asked him for some money to buy an apartment in the city. He flat-out refused. A week later, he sold his car , tractor and bought another plot of land worth 30-40 lakhs for himself.

The worst part? He constantly humiliates my father. Just last week, he called and said, "The rickshaw driver's son got into a top university. Where is your son's result?" (I applied to top local universities this year, didn't make the merit list in a couple of them, and am waiting on the last one.)

He uses me as a weapon to shame my dad, even though he never supports us financially or mentally he dont even care.

My father gets pressured by him, and then he passes that pressure onto me. I’m trying to build myself I’ve been trading for 2.5 years. I’m trying to control emotions, fix my prayer, and stay disciplined. But this environment is cooking me alive.

I don't want to talk to my grandfather ever again. I don't want to see him. He's toxic, and he steals from us.

But in our culture and in Islam, there’s Sila Rahmi—maintaining family ties. How do I maintain ties with someone who actively destroys my father’s mental health and exploits us financially?

Has anyone gone through this with a Pakistani elder? How do you handle a toxic grandfather?

Is it generational trauma or what it is ?

---

TL;DR: Grandfather owns 80 acres but never helps my father, humiliates him daily. How do I survive this?
