Sahar Hashmi's Acting

Despite my bias against her, I've actually found Sahar's acting decent in most of the scenes in Zanjeerain and even in the few clips I saw of Shaidai. I think Sahar brings that sheltered and pampered vibe to Bano and it fits. In fact, in a couple of her scenes with Danyal I found her better than him too. Mainly coz of Danyal's tendency to overdo hand gestures.

I'm not saying she has been great but she hasn't been bad either. I know those are very low standards but what can you do! As long as she doesn't ruin my viewing experience, I'm happy I guess.

What do you guys think?

Are the fans of the newer actors actually holding them back?

There's a trend I've been noticing more and more in ptv and it's starting to genuinely frustrate me. I'm not gonna name names coz I've noticed it in fans of both the newer male and female stars. But these fans take all criticism as invalid hate, even when some of the criticism is constructive.

I'm not saying these actors don't receive unnecessary hate as well. But bhai, if your fave is being called out for 5 things, not all 5 of them will be invalid or conspiracies 😭😭😭

This tendency is visible in some of the older fds too but it's more apparent in the newer ones. You'll atleast see some of the fans of the older actors trolling them or calling them out openly for their actions, but not in the younger lot at all. Maybe it's coz of the age range also as younger actors might mean younger fans?

What they don't seem to realize is that when a fd creates a bubble where no criticism is allowed to land, the artist inside that bubble stops getting real feedback and they stop growing or evolving. It's bad for their fave in the long term only.

Aaaand that's an end to my ted talk.

Sanam Saeed to pay tribute to Shamim Ara at Cannes

I don't really know much about Shamim Ara but know that she's an icon. But I'm curious how this tribute will happen. Anyone has any idea how do they usually pay tributes to icons in Cannes?

Dananeer thinks Devdas dying of alcoholism is glamorizing it

Came across this vid on twitter just now and my mind just can't take it.

I'm someone who's read the original Saratchandra novel and seen both original Bengali version and the Dilip Kumar version, and have my complaints about the SLB version myself, but excuse tf out of me?

She could've just said that the movie is overrated coz I also think it is. But Devdas at its core is a story that questions social classism and the fickle nature of human ego. And while SLB's version seemed more focused on the sets, clothes and scale, it also captured these things albeit not in the best way. So I'm surprised how someone as smart as Dananeer could say such things about the story.

Also, for her to question the story and saying it glamorizes alcoholism when it literally shows the man dying of alcoholism?

This is just disappointing as a literature and devdas fan.

Zanjeerain Episode 6 - Favorite episode so far

Loved loved this episode! Top favorite scene was between Mudassir and Biya which actually addresses all our doubts about the marriage track being rushed. Love Biya being honest and communicative with him. Second favorite scene was between Sherdil and his wife. They're such a beautiful couple. It hurts me knowing that they will have a tragic end. Third favorite was Biya's scene with her family talking about closing the dhaba. I was afraid they'd proceed with ignoring the Biya's kitchen. Huge relief there. Also, the episode ending on a semi cliffhanger makes me even more excited for the next week.

Only found the Bano Buland scene a little underwhelming. Wasn't impressed with Danny's acting tbh.

But overall, the drama is finally finding its groove and I can finally see the classic traces of Farhat Ishtiaq!

Hassan and Aamna make sense here

Now we know why Aamna had that expression during the interview coz she also, like us, felt that explanation was pointless. Hassan later goes on to criticize Fahad too for his shorts and justification.

Zanjeerain Ep 5 Review

I found today's episode to be more balanced in terms of plot progression and focus on the main characters. I guess it helped that we got minimal Bano. But Ahsan, Adnan and Sajal getting enough screentime did it for me.

I do feel that the Biya Mudassir track is being rushed a little, especially from Mudassir's angle. And we are slowly seeing Torsam's descent to darkness which I'm enjoying. But can Sherdil just go and get himself checked?! His and Torsam's confrontation scene was too good. Ahsan Khan was pitch perfect! Zafran Khan's track is fascinating too. I really liked the Mama's acting too.

Anyhow, it was a good episode and has me curious about what's coming next

Fahad Mustafa thinks he can wear shorts now because he wore in in 6th Standard

I don't know where to start about how problematic his justification is.

There are some girls who wore shorts in 6th standard. Should they also wear shorts to media interviews?

Could Fahad himself show this attitude 5-10 years ago? Would he be able to casually wear shorts to interviews then and then excuse it that easily? Just because he's reached the ranks of the biggest stars in the industry, he thinks he can do anything?

So disappointed.

Bilal pls get your beard back!

I still haven't forgiven him for his no beard look for Kuch Ankahi... Atleast he had stubble there. But Pls I can't bear the thought of him doing a drama like this 😭

Meri Lyari gets a disastrous opening

I think the opening is because of all the awful reviews the movie has been getting. What do you guys think? Has anyone here gone to watch the film yet?

u/Admirable_Fig_3023 — 11 days ago

WTF is he wearing 😭😭😭

Aamna Isani is interviewing Mehwish Hawat and Fahad Mustafa today and would you look at his outfit? I'm sorry but he doesn't even have the legs to flaunt!

IMO we don't shame the male celebs enough for their fashion and overdo it for the female celebs

This BTS makes you appreciate the scene even more

Its difficult to shoot in actual rain and Sajal had to deliver those impactful expressions and dialogues while looking up at Usman too. She was even barefoot in a couple of the takes. Love her no-nonsense attitude!

I have not enough words to describe how much I loved the third ep. Sophia is proving to be the best written FL from any ptv show I've ever seen.

To quote someone - "The details they've added to her character like her over-accessorizing, messy buns, uneven styling, chapped lips, nail paint peeling off her nails bec of her biting on them aggressively, the strap of her bag having its leather scratched from where she holds it, dark circles, dark lips" - the attention to details to show what a chaotic girl she is. She's so confused and overwhelmed with everything happening to her.

Her confession to her friend about how she wants Sameer's mom to not know her and her breakdown infront of both Omer gave us a glimpse of what lies underneath her.

Sania Saeed and Sajal's scenes were so funny. Them spying on each other and Sophia's paranoia when it comes to Neelum.

Also, that last scene? Sajal and Wahaj's chemistry is SO BUZZY. I loved the scene too much and sharing it here. I feel like this scene was symbolic to equate the distance between their offices to themselves.
