DETAILED STORY TREATMENT (MINI)

ACT ONE

Ivanovich returns to his village after fifteen years. He is haunted by guilt over his sister Ashvil's disappearance in the forest when they were fifteen. At his aunt's house, he is met with mixed reactions. He encounters Lyudmila, a red-haired girl who speaks in Ashvil's voice and vanishes into the forest.

At the church, Ivanovich meets Givan Petrov, a powerful, charismatic businessman who controls the town. Petrov notices Ivanovich isn't wearing the electric watch everyone in town has. Outside, an Old Woman warns him: "Don't raise your head when the bell tolls." Elena Moroz, a journalist, approaches him with a card.

Ivanovich learns Ashvil's belongings are in the basement but refuses to open the door, too pained by the memory.

ACT TWO

Ivanovich visits Ashvil's grave. The Old Woman urges him to dig. He finds the coffin empty—only a paper reading: "Some secrets must be buried instead of their owners." The bell tolls three times. A voice from the forest—Ashvil's—calls him. Ivanovich confesses to the Old Woman he lied about Ashvil's death: he took her to the forest, she changed, and she told him to run. He ran and never looked back.

Ivanovich meets Elena, who shows him photos of seven missing people—all gifted. They all entered the forest and never returned. He decides to confront Petrov.

At Petrov's palace, Ivanovich demands answers. Petrov takes him to the cemetery, where Ashvil's grave now contains a rotting corpse. Petrov manipulates Ivanovich into doubting his sanity.

Elena sneaks into the basement and finds Ashvil's diary. She reads about the Time Capsule Project—men threatened to take Ivanovich if Ashvil refused. Ashvil sacrificed herself to protect him. The aunt reveals the watches are listening devices. Elena escapes, removes her watch, and flees into the forest.

Lyudmila saves Elena from Petrov's men and reveals Ashvil is alive in a capsule beneath the palace. The tree's roots power the capsules. She sends Elena to stop Ivanovich from burning the tree.

At the oak tree, Ivanovich is about to burn it. Elena arrives with the diary. Ivanovich reads about Ashvil's sacrifice and learns Petrov's truth.

ACT THREE

Lyudmila is injected with Ekolith-X and becomes an entity of pure energy.

Ivanovich and Elena break into the secret lab. They see rows of capsules—each containing a sleeping victim. Ivanovich sees Ashvil alive.

Petrov confronts them, revealing he trades in human minds, extracting cognitive abilities to control the world. He justifies his actions through grief over his wife's death.

Lyudmila arrives, her power destroying everything. Ivanovich stops her, telling her Ashvil is in one of the capsules. She hesitates, then destroys the machines but spares Ashvil. She fades away, whispering: "Save her... save Ashvil."

The capsules open. The victims are alive but stripped of their minds. Ivanovich holds Ashvil—alive, but unresponsive.

ACT FOUR

Weeks pass. Ashvil sleeps. Ivanovich sits by her bedside, holding her hand. Petrov is sentenced to life imprisonment. The family reunites. Ivanovich visits the forest edge and feels Lyudmila's presence.

Ashvil's finger moves slightly. Ivanovich smiles and whispers: "I'll wait for you. However long it takes."

Lyudmila's voice whispers: "It's not over yet... but the timing has not yet come."

---

CENTRAL MYSTERY & CONFLICT

The Mystery: What happened to Ashvil in the forest? Is she dead? And what connects the forest, Givan Petrov, and the missing gifted individuals?

The Conflict: Ivanovich must confront his guilt and uncover the truth about his sister's fate while fighting a powerful, manipulative antagonist. The deeper conflict is between truth and illusion, memory and reality.

Emotional Core: Ivanovich's love for his sister drives him to overcome his guilt and face the painful truth.

---

THEMES

· Guilt and Redemption — Ivanovich's journey from guilt to redemption.

· Memory and Identity — Victims stripped of minds question what makes us human.

· Sacrifice — Ashvil and Lyudmila sacrifice themselves for others.

· Truth vs. Illusion — The town is built on lies; truth is devastating but liberating.

· Power and Control — Petrov uses surveillance and manipulation to control the community.

· Supernatural vs. Science — The forest's mystery alongside scientific experiments.

---

TONE & VISUAL STYLE

Tone: Dark, atmospheric, tense. Slow-burning suspense with psychological depth and supernatural mystery.

Visual Style:

· Color Palette: Cool, desaturated grays, blues, and greens. The forest is dark and foreboding.

· Contrast: Warm, golden light for memories, hope, and supernatural moments.

· Cinematography: Long, slow takes. Close-ups on Ivanovich's haunted face.

· Production Design: Isolated village contrasts with sterile, nightmarish lab.

Influences: Psychological thrillers, supernatural mysteries, science fiction.

---

ENDING

Ivanovich frees Ashvil, but she remains unconscious. Petrov is arrested. The town is liberated. Ashvil's finger moves slightly—hope remains. Ivanovich waits by her side. Lyudmila's voice whispers: "It's not over yet."

The film ends on Ivanovich's hopeful face, sitting beside his sleeping sister.

Thematic Resolution: Ivanovich confronts his guilt, faces the truth, and redeems himself. The cycle of lies is broken, and hope remains.

Open Ending: Lyudmila's final whisper leaves room for interpretation and potential continuation.

A screenwriter who didn't give up until she reached two producers

Hello everyone! I’m back again.

Who said failure means the death of hope?

A new day, a new determination, and a renewed hope that will never end… not until I see my dreams become reality.

But this time, things will be different.

It won’t be a story born entirely from imagination. It won’t be a horror story that makes the audience look over their shoulder. And it certainly won’t be a romance that makes them smile… haha!

This time, my story is inspired by a real case that captured public attention and evolved from a mysterious death into one of the most widely discussed and debated cases.

A young, beautiful, and seemingly ordinary woman who lived her life with dignity, resilience, strength, and determination.

Then, one day, the world woke up to the news of her death.

The initial explanation was suicide.

But does the story end there?

Absolutely not.

Because the question was no longer simply, “What happened?”

It became:

“Was the official explanation the whole truth?”

Questions began to emerge about the circumstances surrounding her death, the evidence, and the investigation itself. As the case spread, public opinion became deeply divided between those who believed the evidence had answered the questions and those who continued to demand clearer answers.

Eventually, the story crossed borders and attracted attention far beyond where it began, becoming a case followed and discussed by people in different countries.

But I didn’t see just a case.

I saw a story.

A story about truth, doubt, memory, unanswered questions, and the things people continue to search for even after a case is officially closed.

Did I believe that the story was simply a suicide?

No.

But I’m not here to prove the opposite.

I want to explore the questions through cinema.

So, where am I going with this?

I want to write this screenplay.

And this time, I believe I can transform a case that raised thousands of questions into a psychological mystery that makes the audience search for the truth alongside the characters.

Wish me luck, my friends.

And I wish you luck with every dream you’re trying to turn into reality.

See you soon. 🎬

I've done a lot to find a producer or a director, but so far I haven't succeeded

Throughout my journey as a screenwriter, I have explored and tried many different ways to reach real opportunities, present my work, and connect with producers, directors, and creative professionals. I did not rely on a single method; instead, I built my path through several approaches, including:

- Creating a professional profile as a screenwriter and preparing introductions about myself, my writing style, and the genres I focus on, such as psychological thriller, mystery, horror, crime, and drama.

- Building my own website to showcase my scripts and creative projects, including summaries and information about works such as ASHEVILLE and other original stories.

- Using screenwriting and filmmaking platforms such as Stage 32, FilmFreeway, Coverfly, The Black List, Script Revolution, and ScriptHop to discover opportunities, connect with industry professionals, and present my work.

- Searching for screenplay competitions, industry opportunities, and production-related programs that allow emerging writers to gain exposure.

- Reaching out directly to producers and directors through Instagram, LinkedIn, Reddit, and email, introducing myself, sharing my projects, and attempting to build professional connections.

- Researching production companies interested in psychological stories, horror, mystery, crime, true stories, and character-driven dramas that match the themes of my writing.

- Communicating with industry professionals and receiving feedback on my work, including producer Juan Loney, who provided notes on my screenplay ASHEVILLE and suggested developing it into a feature-length script.

- Exploring online communities for writers, filmmakers, and producers, including Reddit and writing groups, to find collaboration opportunities and industry connections.

- Looking for platforms similar to Screenwriting Staffing, where writers can connect directly with producers and filmmakers searching for new projects.

- Improving and developing my scripts based on professional feedback, expanding my ideas, and adapting my projects to better fit industry standards.

- Searching for opportunities internationally and reaching out to creative professionals in different markets, including the United States, India, Korea, and other countries, because my goal is to bring my stories to a global audience.

Although the journey has not been easy, I have continued learning, improving, and exploring different paths to enter the film industry. Through this process, I have gained experience in presenting my work, communicating with professionals, and developing my stories while continuing to search for the right opportunity to bring them to the screen.
