Can this blend of 3D and pixel art work? Looking for advice.
I think the tile on the back with the village looks the best, and the tile with the trees the worst. I can't put my finger on why. Looking for any advice

TFTD Disruptor Pulse Launcher when attacking colony
I've had a crew wiped during a colony assault so I trained a new one with better gear. It all went flawlessly until I had two disruptor shots land on my relatively spread out team. 10 soldiers were killed instantly, and I had to abandon the mission. This felt incredibly unfair, I played extremely cautiously and successfully fended the aliens up until this point. Is there anything I can do other than just making sure my soldiers are even more spread out? Can rushing armor save them?
