UPDATE - being starved

Thank you to everyone who commented on my original post and tried to help. I really appreciate it.

Unfortunately, things have gotten even worse. It has now been 4 days since I last had an actual meal (Thursday 13th).

I’ve been trying to survive on whatever substitute food I can find around the house. It’s not every day, and there genuinely isn’t much. One day I was lucky enough to find some noodles, another day there was some corn, and another day I found cereal. That’s basically all I’ve had.

I’m also going to try selling some of my old things on Vinted just to try and get a little bit of money together for food. My Vinted is nehadhaliwal if anyone is interested in helping by buying something. I’d genuinely appreciate it so much.

being starved - urgent advice

hi guys, i genuinely don’t know what to do anymore and i’m desperate for advice.

i don’t have a good relationship with my family and the situation at home is abusive. it’s been 5 weeks today since my mum has spoken to me, and i’m basically left to fend for myself when it comes to food. the fridge is literally always empty. i don’t know what my mum makes for my brother or where the food goes, but there is genuinely never anything left for me that i can eat.
i’ve been eating ONE meal every 2/3 DAYS. usually literally just frozen nuggets or instant noodles if there happens to be any. i’m so hungry right now and there is genuinely nothing in the house that i can eat. this isn’t me being picky or wanting a certain type of food — i literally have no food.

i don’t have a job because i’m a student and i’ve been applying everywhere, but i obviously need to eat in the meantime. my friends know that i’m not being fed but they don’t really talk about it and kind of avoid the conversation, so i feel completely on my own with this.
school is shut right now too, so i can’t get help from
them and my emails aren’t being answered.

another problem is that i have NO form of transportation. i don’t drive, i don’t have a car, and i live in the suburbs where there isn’t really anything within walking distance. so even if there’s a food bank or somewhere that could give me food, i have no idea how i’m actually supposed to get there.

i’m in the UK. does anyone know of ANY support that could help someone in my situation, especially something that could help?

I&D for HS abscess in May still hasn't healed - what should I do?

Hi everyone,

I had an incision and drainage (I&D) for an HS abscess in my armpit back in May, but the wound has never fully healed. It still has a small opening that drains on and off, and recently I've noticed a red ring around the area
I'm in the UK and have been waiting for a dermatology appointment since July (was meant to be on referral list since 2020 but GP didn’t put me on..) through the NHS, but I still haven't been seen.

I was meant to see my GP today, but after waiting over 30 minutes with really bad period cramps, I ended up leaving before I was called.

I'm starting to wonder if this is more than just a wound that's taking a long time to heal. Could this be a sinus tract/tunnel that needs deroofing or another type of surgery? Has anyone had something similar after an I&D?

Year 12 has been a mess because of health issues. Should I repeat the year or just try to catch up?

I'm currently in Year 12 studying Biology, Chemistry and Maths. My long term goal is to become a maxillofacial surgeon, so I'm aiming for the dentistry/medicine route, which I know is already very competitive..

The reason I'm posting is because I honestly don't know whether I'm overreacting or whether I should seriously consider repeating y12.
This year has been really difficult due to my health. I have a chronic skin condition called hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), which causes painful abscesses and boils. The flare ups can get pretty severe and I've spent a lot of this year dealing with hospital appointments, pain, infections and trying to keep up with school at the same time.

In January, I had to have surgery because one of the abscesses had become very large.
Recovery wasn't exactly quick, and it meant more time away from studying and trying to catch up on content.
Then, during my mock exam period, things got even worse. I ended up needing another operation around the same time as my exams.
On top of that, due to personal circumstances, I was basically homeless for about a week. I was moving around, didn't really have a stable place to stay, and revision was obviously the last thing on my mind because I was just trying to get through each day.

Despite all of that, I sat my mocks and got CAB.
My school is aware of the circumstances surrounding the exams and has said that these factors will be considered, and there is a possibility some grades could increase by a grade boundary.
The thing that's worrying me isn't even the grades themselves.

Now that Year 12 is nearly over, I feel behind. Not necessarily because my grades are awful, but because I don’t feel like I have the solid foundation that other students seem to have going into Year 13.
Any advice?
