Did anyone attend IFA 2026 and see an up close of the new W2 machines? Or does anyone have inside info or work for Miele?
I am asking because from the glimpse I saw, (when I watched the Miele Press conference and paused the video on a moment of showing the drum washing in animation) they have VERY quietly put the paddles back into the washing drums. I note that they also didn’t mention anything to do with Ai wash rhythm or the revised honeycomb drum that they were so proud of in 2024. They also said that they didn’t have time to mention the technologies that came down from the Nova (which felt like a nice way to avoid any controversy over releasing what is quite the failed product)
I took a still of the machine showing a wash cycle @ 33:38 in the link below and it definitely appears to be the case.
If they have done this and the new machines are foundationally W1 machines back with full glass fronted doors, bigger openings, higher load carrying capacity, quieter drums/springs, revised dosing system and the reliable digital motor - they may have convinced me to stay when my W1/T1 machines are worn out.
The new classes are defined by the classic metals naming systems too - so Platinum, Gold, Silver are the “normal” range and I suspect the Nova edition will be quietly replaced with a paddle version and then re named to Diamond which appears to be their flagship name.
Not sure what tags to put and from what I've heard a car crashed into the Travel money Oz and that the car was a Mercedes.
Was parking for a meeting, hunting for a bay, the Norse Gods opened this one up behind a cute EX30. For reference, mine is XC60 Polestar Engineered.
Managed to find and be found each weekend. Trying for that lucky third this weekend…
*i consider an EX30 the successor to what I assumed was going to be an EX40 (named the Polestar 2 instead)
The front gate completely fell off. Obviously it was well out of its environment which is why it was jettisoned.
Mine is a MY’22, different rims on the other so I am guessing MY’24 (forgot to look at the lower door sticker)
