idk if i should drop/swap my arts degree - laws/arts student first year

i might get flamed on here or told to just suck it up, but i have a love/hate relationship with the arts degree. the tutorials are SHIT. everyone on here is like, you have to attend tutorials! your paying x amount for your degree yadayada! but they're genuinely so bad.

last semester i survived because i actually had good tutors, the work was slightly dragged but i ended up doing well (distinctions). that's why i'm nervous to drop the degree as well.

i have to drive 35+ minutes to go to a tutorial. 35+ mins one way, so that's at LEAST an hour driving - so when the tutorials are just some bullshit , it makes me really frustrated. we deadass just sit there doing fluffy stuff for 1h 45mins, then do something that could've easily been done at home for 15 mins. i want to attend tutorials where im actually learning things, doing work . someone's gonna say on here its because i'm not participating enough, but i can't describe it , it's just not good??? 😭 - and i do try to participate/talk to others.

there's no online tutes either, i'm enrolled in parra south campus but now i have to travel to penrith for a tutorial, it's genuinely the only option. and all my other classes are all based in parra south, i don't even have the option to just make everything in kingswood.

i've had to move one of my tutorials for law online too which is annoying, because i actually like in person for law, but my other options was to drive to campus 4 days a week, or do 6-9pm classes.

i'm just thinking, would i have this problem if i did something like business? i'd imagine they'd have more class offerings/online tutorials. or should i just thug it out for the next 3 years? i genuinely feel so hopeless and annoyed and angry, i always feel like i made mistakes when making big life decisions like this. even my parents told me not to do arts but i ignored them.

the only reason why i didn't do business is because i'm definetly better in english than maths, so i was worried i would struggle with it gpa wise.

im reluctant to do straight law as well because it's less time to network, have to get a job quicker, no 'gpa booster' from the other degree, heaps of people say to do a double, and i don't mind studying, i like the uni experience somewhat 😒

basically the problem is that the tutorials have zero flexibility, and it's a waste of time.

i know, i know i'm gonna get a bunch of people saying that's just the uni experience and too bad. but if any other law students have been in my specific situation, dropping arts, thugging it out, switching degrees, please lmk 🥴

i have to travel from parramatta to kingswood via train, it would be around 8am - 1pm. is it safe or better of driving? 19F

i'm a uni student, and i either have the option of catching the train or driving between the campuses. i was originally gonna catch the train to save the drive but people are saying that kingswood train station is a super dodgy area. passes through mt druitt too 😬

i am already paranoid as it is travelling public transport in general, so if its not worth it pls say so

what are tutorials like on zoom call?

first year law student, i was trying to avoid having my tutorials online, especially this class because there's a presentation that needs to be done in a group, and now i'm gonna have to do it online. i feel like it's gonna be so awkward, but the tutorials last sem were bad anyway so i felt like i could've done it online anyway??

just a bit nervous if it's bad lol

i respect how private conan's love life is

tbh it doesn't even pique my curosity which is a bit suprising. i love conan a lot, and i always wished we were friends etc in a cute way but nothing parasocial.. 😟

and he does get pretty specific about the person he's talking about. for all we know it could be multiple people/experiences. i would HATE if i dated a musician, and next minute the entire teenage fanbase of your ex is absolutetly bagging you and giving you a bunch of hate - it's not even about conan's life himself, you've got to consider the impact that it would have on the other person

it makes me mad as well when people comment on his family's socials, but it's always young fans doing it, they just don't know better

im most likely tripping but does anyone else feel like some of the songs on gsil sound a bit 'quiet'? i think i might have a bit of hearing issues

TBF my hearing can be a bit crazy sometimes, but whenever i listen to particuarly the "so in love" part of the album it sounds softer!! my spotify settings are fine, cause other songs sound loud.

i remember when i first listened to the album, it was dead quiet in my house, and i was listening on good quality headphones, and i just felt like i couldn't really hear the music, even the instrumentals just seemed quiet. i turned up the volume as well, but i dont know.

i noticed it in particular with stupid song and u + me = <3. even in my car, all my music and speakers are good but whenever i listen to it i always have to turn up the volume more??? 😭

im fully prepared for people to say im being weird lol

heather day vinyl 2024 - two questions; why is it OG version considered the 5 year anniversary when kid krow was released in 2020, and why is it so much rarer than the 2025 wishbone edition?

i've always been so confused about the anniversary date, even conan said posted in 2024 "it will be the 5th anniversary this year" wouldn't it be 4 years ??? 😭 ... i guess if you count 2020 as a whole year.... ok that lowkey makes sense now - but even kid krow decomposed the 5 year anniversary vinyl was for 2025?

and why is it so rare? im so annoyed i didn't get it i distinctly remember when it was first released i thought it was kind of silly to just have two songs one with the lost verse live one the regular and i have BIG regrets . i bought the 2025 edition (wishbone) and it has nowhere near the same popularity/rarity, its still available at heaps of stores in AU

is working doordash worth it in australia?

not sure if i should try it out. i'm just a bit nervous as well cause im 19F. i'd imagine as a young girl there would be some weird situations/customers. for example, i probably wouldn't feel comfortable having to go into someones apartment block. maybe i am just over thinking it, but i am a anxious person lolll + my parents are still quite protective of me, which is fair enough sometimes.

also, id want to dash during the day. would there even be enough orders to make a decent amount of money?

my job that i have rn requires me to drive a fair bit too, and i drive to uni and back so the dashing would definetly need to cover fuel + a bit of extra pocket money.

my job revolves around school holidays so i don't have work when schools out, which is kind of annoying especially in the summer holidays. hopefully this summer i get a christmas casual job, but its not always a garuntee.

if you've read this far ur probably thinking why not just get another job, and tbh i dont know if i could manage it with uni.

i just want the money for extra cash and savings, im lucky enough to not have any bills/high cost items to pay monthly

anyways, i feel like this whole thing is just describing how this job is probably not for me but if anyone wants to convince me otherwise feel free to do so 😭

had to sell my A reserve ticket for conan :(

i've already posted a story time on here (its deleted now, new account), but in SHORT these girls were really bitchy in high school, im now in university, its been deadass over 6 months not once did they reach out etc.

it just sucks because if it was just one other person of course i would grin and bear it, hell i was even willing to do it with these girls, but girls are MEAN.

so ive put my ticket up for sale 😞 thankfully my cousins are willing to go but now im gonna be sitting closer to the nosebleeds - still haven't bought replacement tickets 🥴 and i was the one who got the artist presale tickets for them for a reserve because i really wanted good seats 😭

anyways, can't really complain because at least i get to go! and thankfully its not with my parent(s) either, they wouldn't let me go alone even though im 19 😒

hopefully someone buys the seat 😬 im sure someone will considering its a really good spot but it is a single one so

my opinion: wishbone deluxe clears conan’s whole discovery

this might be a insanely hot take but i personally think wishbone deluxe is the best song writing and musically sounding he's ever had - which is hard to do because i genuinely love ALL of conan’s albums (including found heaven 👀).

idk it’s so hard with conan to even pick what sounds the best (cheeky reference) i feel like he’s genuinely never had a bad album/song including fake sorry😭

wishbone deluxe genuinely sounds like the premium person of wishbone, which is very rare because most deluxe albums are usually just songs that didn’t make the setlist

chefs kiss

edit: i meant that do i dare, house that always rains, door, moths and the best are his best songs in his discovery

- i always associated the deluxe album as just these songs but technically deluxe albums do include the original songs too lolllllll

travel between parra south and kingswood campus?

i have a class at kingswood from 9am - 12pm, and on the same day i have a class 2pm parra south.

is there any reliable public transport which could get me between these campuses? im not too familiar with the buses and the light rail/train in the area, and im 99% sure theres no shuttle bus which goes between those campuses. it would be very nice if it did though 😞

otherwise my other option is to just drive between the campuses, which i dont mind if i have to, not like i have a choice really lol

alt covers for the CDs superache and kid krow?

it would probably be impossible to find, but was there ever in production alt covers for kid krow (not the anniversary vinyls) and superache?

i dont even think there was an alt cover in general for these two albums?

i like collecting the original cover on vinyl but i like collecting alt covers for cds

id really want to see the feedback on how i did and what i did good/bad etc

is the cd EXACTLY the same streaming as spotify etc?

you guys have probably seen that the vinyls have been cut shorter + sound different to streaming the original 🥲

i was just wondering if you guys think it’s worth it to buy the CD?

i love physical media because it’s the exact copy of how they originally released it, so if an artist ever does alter / remove their music off streaming, at least i have the original 😭.

and at least CDs are a lot more affordable than records so i don’t mind buying the CD only if it’s exactly the same as streaming lol

[wanted] exclusive preorder vinyl - should i order it now?

edit: i originally posted this to r/oliviarodrigo but it wouldn’t let me and recommended this subreddit instead

i don’t think i can add photos , not sure how, but it’s the

“you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love - exclusive ‘sticky sweet‘ hot pink vinyl”

i also think it’s a AUS/NZ exclusive vinyl.

im not the type to preorder vinyls at all, just incase the album sucks, but ive also been wanting to try collect vinyls that will potentially become a bit more rare, and im also in love with the cover art and the colour !!

the cure and begged and drop dead are so good too and i really like sour and guts so i reckon it will be a safe buy.

im just asking because im worried it will be taken off the market once the album comes out fully. do you guys reckon i should preorder it now? thanks !
