which one fits your music tastes better? are you a fan of both?

found this one while in the midst of organizing my collection. I’d describe it as raw Venom inspired blackened thrash. not the most technical stuff but good for when in the mood for something a bit more simplistic and back to the basics. I’m actually not sure I’ve ever listened to it before but I’m digging it.

also I am very annoyed someone put a hole punch right in the cover.

but anyway, one of the best ever.

if you dig power/melodic metal with a healthy dose of cheese and have never heard this album you really need to give it a listen. Also my cat likes power metal too that’s why we’re listening together.

I often can’t really decide what to listen to so sometimes I’ll just pick a theme and today it’s bands who have red band logos.

I think it’s a fairly solid mix of thrash, death, traditional, prog, a bit of doom, stoner.

What would you throw on first out of this?

I was going to attempt rank these but that would break my brain so I’ll just say out of all these I’m probably reaching for Slayer - Show No Mercy first. also really love that Overkill album. Very raw kind of punkish vibe. Blitz sounds amazing on it.

honestly you can’t go wrong with any of these. and quite a few not pictured tbh like my all time favorite thrash debut is probably Testament - The Legacy

Not only do I appreciate the daily adorable/funny cat posts but I just love knowing how many cats out there are living in caring loving homes and that’s so obvious from posts on here. I know this band is primarily only known for Sex & Candy but honestly this entire album is some of my favorite poppy-ish slacker rock. Just very catchy stuff all around. I also heavily associate this one with summer so it’s been on a lot lately. Throw on the first track Poppies and see what you think if you’re into I suppose kind of Weezer-ish power pop?

The Chasm may be my favorite death metal band. Glad to own this one.

Fuzzed out psychedelic blues rock. Glad to finally have this one in my collection.

I have been trying to catalog my collection and I was very hyped to find out I own this album. It’s actually a pretty good listen which I’m grateful for since this album cover deserves some solid music behind it. I’d recommend checking out the track The Parasite. It’s quite Maiden-y.

Vinterland - Welcome My Last Chapter. Swedish black metal from 1996.

This is just a hypnotically beautiful melodic black metal album. I recommend throwing some headphones on in a dark room and just getting lost in it for the duration. This was their only album and they left a hell of a mark with it.

So I decided to dig out the originals and yep, both incredible albums. I hope a lot of people pick them up.
