6 years in recruitment, running my own recruitment firm

Not really sure how this post will do, but I thought I’d give Reddit a shot.

I have around 6 years of experience in recruitment. Over the years, I’ve worked across product companies, service companies and consulting environments, hiring across different technology and business functions. I’ve pretty much been involved in everything from sourcing and screening to client management, interview coordination and closing candidates.

For the last year, I’ve also been running my own recruitment company. I currently have a 3-member team and we’ve done real hiring and placed candidates, but honestly, the market has become extremely difficult. Requirements aren’t moving, clients are delaying decisions, and right now the business isn’t giving us enough stability.

So I’m making a slightly uncomfortable decision: I’m looking for a full-time recruitment job again.

At this point, I’m looking for something around ₹8–9 LPA. I’m not looking to join for a few months and leave. I want something stable where I can actually contribute, grow and stay for the long term.

The one thing I’m very confident about is recruitment and sourcing.

So rather than asking you to believe everything I’ve written here, here’s my offer:

Give me a difficult requirement.

Let me work on it. Let me source candidates, shortlist them and try to close it. If I’m able to deliver, then you can decide whether you want to hire me full-time.

I still have some financial runway left, but I’d rather use this period productively and prove what I can do instead of just asking someone to take a chance on me.

If anyone in Bangalore is hiring for a recruiter / talent acquisition / recruitment lead role, DM me.

And honestly, even if you’re not hiring, a referral would mean a lot right now.

Anyone here willing to collaborate on Naukri access? (Recruitment startups/agencies)

Hey everyone,

I'm currently helping a friend build a recruitment agency, and we're slowly picking up momentum.

At the moment, we have 2 product companies and 1 service company as clients, and we've managed to close 3 positions in the last month.

The only bottleneck we're facing is access to Naukri.

I know this isn't a conventional ask, but I thought I'd check here since we're all trying to build something.

If you're a recruitment agency or recruiter with a Naukri subscription and have some unused capacity, I'd love to collaborate.

Here's what I'm thinking:

  • I'll pay per profile/resume downloaded (our previous arrangement was around ₹40 per profile).
  • Or, if you'd rather split the monthly Naukri subscription cost, I'm open to that as well.
  • On top of that, if a candidate sourced through your Naukri account gets placed, I'm happy to share 10–15% of the placement fee with you.

I'm not looking for anything one-sided—I genuinely want this to be a win-win for both of us. If we work well together, I'd love to build a long-term relationship.

If this sounds interesting, feel free to comment or send me a DM. Happy to hop on a quick call.

Let's help each other grow.

How much should I realistically budget for branding + marketing for a healthy meal startup?

Hey everyone,

I'm building a healthy meal subscription brand in Bangalore and I'm trying to figure out if my budget is realistic.

For the initial branding, I have around ₹30k–40k in mind. The scope would be:

  • Brand strategy
  • Logo
  • Brand identity
  • Packaging design (meal boxes, stickers, labels)
  • Brand guidelines
  • Social media templates

Then from the following month, I'm planning to spend around ₹40k/month, split like this:

  • ₹20k for the agency/freelancer
  • ₹20k as ad spend (Meta/Google)

Is this a realistic budget for good-quality work, or am I expecting too much?

If you've worked with an agency or freelancer in this budget range and had a good experience, I'd really appreciate recommendations. If you're an agency or freelancer yourself and think you're a good fit, feel free to DM me your portfolio and some past work (especially food, D2C, or startup brands).

Not looking for the cheapest option—just someone who delivers quality work within this budget.

Would love to hear your thoughts.

Looking for a Creative Director (Startup | Equity + Salary)

I'm building a SaaS startup, but I genuinely believe it has the potential to become much more than just a software company.

Right now, I'm looking for a Creative Director who can help shape how the world sees us.

Not just someone who can make things look pretty.

I'm looking for someone who understands:

  • Brand building
  • Storytelling
  • Product positioning
  • Design systems
  • Marketing creativity
  • Community building
  • Turning products into movements

I strongly believe that great products alone don't win. Great products combined with great storytelling do.

You'll work directly with me as one of the earliest people in the company. I'm open to discussing:

  • Equity
  • Salary
  • Long-term role
  • Growth opportunities

If you're the type of person who constantly looks at companies like Apple, Airbnb, Notion, Linear, Stripe, Duolingo, Liquid Death, etc. and thinks about why they feel different, we'll probably get along.

I'm not looking for average.

I want someone who genuinely believes they can build one of the strongest brands in the space.

If that's you, DM me:

  • Your portfolio
  • Projects you've worked on
  • Brands you've helped build
  • Anything you're proud of

Just send me your work and let's talk.

Let's build something people remember.
