Recurrent Enterococcus faecalis UTI — where does this keep coming from?Ureaplasma?

I’m honestly at my wits’ end and wondering if anyone has dealt with something similar.

I keep having urinary/urethral symptoms and Enterococcus faecalis has shown up on my urine cultures more than once. My most recent clean-catch culture grew 10,000–49,999 CFU/mL of Enterococcus faecalis. I had already had a positive strep b test in July which lead to me getting tested for ureaplasma and treated with doxycycline.

What makes me even more confused is that a few weeks ago a week AFTER being treated for the strep b, I had a catheterized urine sample that showed no growth at all. So if my bladder was clear then, where is the Enterococcus coming from now? Is this linked to ureaplasma? I was treated with a 7 day doxycycline treatment and symptoms went away and then came back. They have FINALLY agreed to give me another week of doxycycline while I wait for my results , but I haven’t even done anything sexual in the past few days so I have no idea where the uti came from. This is so frustrating. I’m just trying to figure out if it could be related to ureaplasma and if it’s even worth treating ureaplasma anymore ? I just feel like I’m gonna be stuck like this. I just to get all these infections from sexual activity but I stopped in March and only stuck to masturbation maybe once a week. I started getting infections (uti,bv,yeast)out of nowhere in July and they haven’t stopped even with ureaplasma treatment with doxycycline . It’s just not making sense. Any advice would really help . I’ve been trying vaginal probiotics and boric acid but I’m not sure they are doing my ch.

Constant urge to pee

Hey guys! So I tested positive for Ureaplasma and Strep b about a month ago and talk all antibiotics. I was having some sharp stomach pain and urinary symptoms with my infection. The doxycycline pretty much masked the symptoms while I was on it and when I stopped the treatment the symptoms came back back. Now that I’m done, I’ve tried metromodinazle for BV which made it a bit better than I took 2 dilfucan which completely got rid of the abdominal pain. But I’m still running to the bathroom every 2 hours which is really annoying. It just feels noticeably heavier. I got a catheterized urine sample and a UTI isn’t the issue here. I go to the gynecologist Monday and am wondering what I should make sure she tests for? Just because I know they skip over things sometimes. I mean I would’ve still been in pain had I not read up on yeast and bv causing the worst of the symptoms. Is there anything I should make sure is tested for/ has anyone had any luck getting rid of this urinary urgency? Thanks guys for all your help so far. It really has gotten better but I want to try to kick this thing completely.

Ureaplasma and strep B

Hey guys! So when I got tested not long ago it came back positive for strep b and ureaplasma. I took the augmentin and now I’m taking the doxycycline. The doxycycline honestly has helped with a lot of the stomach/lower abdominal pain. The ammonia smell I was experienced has also went away 70%. The issue is the stomach pain has come back a few days later. I have 2 days left of doxycycline. Could this be the strep B causing this problem? They already put me on cipro before the augmentin as well before they got the actual results so I’ve basically taken 2 antibiotics and still having the same irritation. It’s not nearly as bad as before but it still hurts pretty bad before I urinate and there’s more urgency than usual. Any advice would help. Thanks !

Moving back to WPB

Hey guys. I’m planning to move back to west palm beach in November. I lived in wpb for a few years and moved away. As far as getting a job and securing an apartment, I’m worried because many employers seem to prefer local applicants, but I also know many apartment complexes want proof of income.

For those who have relocated to South Florida: Did you get the job first or the apartment first? Is it worth using a realtor to find an apartment in West Palm Beach?

Thanks:))))

Could Ureaplasma parvum have been causing this for 5 years?

For the past 5 years, almost every single time I have sex, within a couple of days I end up with BV, a yeast infection, UTI symptoms, or some combination of all three. It happens regardless of the partner, and when I’m not sexually active I rarely have these issues. My urine cultures are often negative even though I have burning, urgency, and pelvic discomfort. It really did suck especially because I’m in my younger 20s and I had never experienced anything like this.Last week I got a UTI and I actually haven’t been sexually active in a year, so that one came out of nowhere. Reddit had been saying to test for ureaplasma and mycoplasma so I went ahead.

Could Ureaplasma parvum have been causing this for 5 years?

I just got my PCR results back: • Ureaplasma parvum: Positive • Ureaplasma urealyticum: Negative • Mycoplasma: Still pending

I’m honestly wondering if this has been the missing piece.

Did treating it stop the cycle of getting BV/yeast infections and UTI-like symptoms after sex?

I’m just trying to figure out if this positive result could finally explain what’s been happening to me for years. Very grateful for this thread because I would’ve never gone to get tested if I hadn’t seen it.

Vent

Hey guys. Just pretty much here to vent. So basically 2 years ago I had a LO that took me at least 1.5 years to get over. We even slept together a few times. . Here I am 2 years later over her and she adds me on social media. It really sucked because I hadn’t thought about her at all and then she added me. I was fine until I decided to add her back which I knew was gonna be a bad decision. Now I find myself looking at her profile everyday and ruminating again. At least she lives far away so I can’t see her in person but still. I wish I never added her because now she’s on my mind all day:(. I hate it.

Mustang window and door issue

Hey guys! I have a 2020 Mustang convertible. My driver’s side window has started moving/bouncing up and down while I’m driving and the passenger side was already doing it when I bought the car but randomly stopped. It’s not going all the way down ,it’s going down as much as it would when I open and close the door.

On top of that, my passenger door actually popped open while I was driving. It has been going this once a week.

Has anyone experienced both of these issues at the same time? Could this be a bad window regulator/motor, a door module/electrical issue, or just two unrelated problems? About how much did it cost you to fix?

Qualification based on education

For those of you who have been hired for federal jobs based primarily on education, how related was your degree to the position?

I have a bachelor's degree in Film and was found eligible for a few federal positions, but I'm worried because my degree isn't directly related to the job.

I'm interested in GS-5 and GS-7 positions where education was used to qualify.

Hiring based on education

I’m curious to hear from people who were hired into a federal position based on their education qualifications, with little or no work experience.

What position did you get hired for? What degree did you have? Did you qualify based on GPA or your degree alone? How long did the hiring process take from application to final offer?

I haven’t had much luck in the past with getting referred but here I am trying again a year later and hoping for a better result.

Invalid test results

I recently went in for an ADHD/neuropsychological evaluation because I've struggled with attention, focus, daydreaming, forgetfulness, and hyperfixation for most of my life. During the initial interview, the psychologist told me that effort during testing would be measured and that validity measures are used to determine whether test results can be interpreted.

The problem is that I genuinely felt like I was trying my best. I wasn't intentionally trying to fail anything, exaggerate symptoms, or game the test. I answered honestly and did the tasks as instructed. Reading the email was honestly upsetting because it feels like I'm being accused of faking or exaggerating difficulties that I've struggled with for years.

Has anyone else experienced something like this during ADHD or neuropsychological testing?

I'd appreciate any insight from people who have been through something similar.

The email says:

Your testing appointment was discontinued by my assistant at my direction due to a validity issue with testing. You may recall me telling you at the interview that during testing it is important that you give best effort, and that effort is measured as a professional standard within our field when cognitive testing is administered. This standard allows us to reliably interpret test results as valid, and to reliably interpret any deficits/impairments/weaknesses as a brain-related process and not attributable to something like motivation/effort. When failures occur on these validity measures, we must stop testing, as any test results obtained would be deemed invalid. Moreover, such low performances on this measure are specific to underperformance/suboptimal effort given, or exaggeration of cognitive problems.
