Elfscape: Ancestors (platformer with metroidvania elements) — Is this fair or too punishing?
Game Title: Elfscape: Ancestors

Platform: Steam (PC)
Description:
Two health points and a double jump — that's all you need!
Descend into the underground and become a true platforming master! You’ll face large, complex formations of moving obstacles across long levels with occasional checkpoints and health orbs, all meticulously crafted over 7 years. Can you survive? Choose from three difficulty levels — from a relaxed journey to a true test of skill.
The Guardian’s Story
Deep in the underground temple, the Guardian sleeps, awaiting the foretold arrival of the Chosen One. Suddenly, she awakens — determined to join him in the fight against the darkness and fulfill the prophecy. But the temple’s servants speak a language she doesn’t understand, the main servant looks afraid and can’t hold eye contact, and the Chosen One is nowhere to be found. What’s going on? She must find the Chosen One as quickly as possible, since her battery is draining fast, and only he has the means to recharge it.
Two Adventures in One
During your exploration of the surroundings of the city, you’ll come across headless statues of Lahmu, the two-headed god of the Underworld. Reunite the statues with their lost heads to unlock comic pages. These pages tell the story of two local hunters — devout, anxious Jachan and cheerful Agol — as they venture beyond the safety of the Temple City.
Explore the Underground World
By collecting Lahmu heads, you will also upgrade your map and unlock new navigation abilities. As you progress in collecting, the map evolves to assist you with new features such as a compass, fast travel, and completion indicators.
A Changing City
Decorate the Temple City by purchasing useful items for the townsfolk with coins collected in levels. As the city grows, its streets come alive with the sounds of a harp, school lessons, and children at play. You can also unlock new outfits for the Guardian, inspired by the environments of the levels you’ve completed. The choice is yours!
Free to Play Status: Demo/Key available
Involvement: I am the lead developer
How does the difficulty feel to you? Would love to hear your thoughts! Thanks! :)

Looking for feedback on default keyboard controls for a precision platformer
Hi all,
I’m currently working on a PC precision platformer game and I’m thinking about the default keyboard layout. I usually play games on a gamepad, so I don’t have much experience with keyboard controls.
The core actions I need to map are:
• movement
• jump
• crouch
• inventory
• menu
What key bindings feel the most natural to you for these actions?
Thanks for any input!
