Rendili Skunkworks: Disco Core Ship

Y'know what the Star Wars galaxy needs? No more war, nah. A stable non-corrupt government, not that either. It needs DISCO BABY!! And to do that we're going to take the biggest ball shaped ship in the galaxy and cover it in composite beam laser panels. Yes you heard me right, every square inch of this thing is going to be covered with composite beam laser projectors.

To do this we're gonna have to do a couple of things first. Firstly we're gonna remove those two towers that are getting in the way of space for more lasers and we're going to move the bridge that was once housed there and put it at the top pole of the sphere. Second we're gonna have to do some math. Luckily we have the dimensions for this thing so we can calculate the surface area since it's a simple sphere. Going off of the width we get a diameter of 696m, and a radius of 352m. Now plugging that into the formula for the surface area of a sphere, 4pi(352)^2 we get a surface area of 1,557,023 square meters. Now if we assume that each composite beam projector is going to be 2 square meters in area that means we can get a maximum of 778,511 composite beam projectors. Now that's going to consume a lot of power, which is why we're replacing the reactor with a Praetor Battlecruiser reactor which should fit if we do some internal re-arranging.

The way these weapons will work is like the system I proposed for the Victory composite beam laser refit. Each beam will be free to combine with as many other beams as it can to form a larger beam. And since these are on every side of this magnificent Disco Ball we will be able to disintegrate anything that comes into range.

Rendili Skunkworks: Planet Defender Recusant

Today on Rendili Skunkworks we're going to be covering a ship that isn't Rendili sadly but we will make it batshit insane nonetheless!

This is the Recusant. It's a fine ship if a bit spindly, but you know what would make it better?

A Giant Fuck-off Ion Cannon!

Yes that's right we're going to strap a v-150 Planet Defender to the Recusant. To accomodate this we're going to have to remove most of the heavy turbolasers from the ship. I'd guess we'd have to remove 5 of the prow heavy turbolasers and downgrade the other 11 to Double Light Turblasers. Since the Recusant already has a great power supply of 73 × 10^(23) Watts we don't have to remove as much weaponry as we otherwise would have.

The 'Enterprise' was the last of the Six Inexpugnable Class vessels built for the Mandolorian Wars but as it was not yet complete by the time of the Battle of Malachor V, it was spared the carnage wrought by the Mass Shadow Generator on the Republic Fleet. During the Jedi Civil War the Early Sith Wars the 'Enterprise' held the Core Worlds from the onslaught of Sith Interdictor Cruisers. During the Dark Wars it led the fleet that recaptured Korriban for the Republic. It remained as a prominent command ship at the head of the Republic's 7th Fleet during the Great Galactic War where it aided in the successful recapture of the northern regions of the Galaxy from the Sith, notably destroying the Sith 18th Fleet at the Battle of Munillist. After the Great Galactic War the 'Enterprise' was converted into a gigantic museum ship that toured the core worlds. That was until when in 2000 BBY Darth Ruin began what would come to be known as the New Sith Wars. The Inexpugnable was forced back into service and held off the Sith, until a Sith plot to hack her navicomputer jumped the 'Enterprise' and the entire 7th Fleet out of known space. From that point on the 'Enterprise' became a galactic legend akin to the later Katana fleet. Similarly to the Katana Fleet the 'Enterprise' and 7th Fleet would be found by accident. They would be found by Rebels fleeing Imperial capture in 3ABY and although they were not able to crew the fleet immediately, a desperate activation of the Vanjervalis Computer saved the rebels from being destroyed by an Imperial Star Destroyer that had discovered them. The fleet would be jumped to Mon Calamari for refits and crewing. By 8 ABY the ship was once again ready for combat and once again led the 7th Fleet into battle, this time against the Imperial Remnant.

Fleet Building Challenge: The Old Republic

And now we're on to my favorite faction in all of Star Wars, The Old Republic itself. We're going to be going with the the Republic Navy during the Great Galactic War since they have more ships then.

The rules are as follows:

Your fleet can be made up of a total of 25 ships, split amongst the following tiers:

Tier I: Command/Capital Ships. At least 1 is required, with a maximum of 3 allowed.
Options Include:
Inexpugnable Command Ship, Valor-Class Cruiser,

Tier II: Heavy Line Ships. At least 2 are required, with a maximum of 5 allowed.
Options Include:
Stalwart Class Cruiser, Mon Cal Cruiser,

Tier III: Light Warships and Escorts Cruisers. At least 4 are required, with a maximum of 8 allowed.
Options Include:
Hammerhead Cruiser, Axehead Cruiser, Thranta Corvette, Praetorian Class Frigate

Tier IV: Corvettes and Gunboats. At least 4 are required, with a maximum of 12 allowed.
Options include:
Foray Class Blockade Runner, Coruscant Courier, Defender Light Corvette, Dynamic Class Freighter (Combat refit), BT-17 Thunderclap

Tier V: Logistics/Specialized Support. There is no required amount, although the maximum is 5.

Battletech Force Building Challenge: Union Dropship 3025

Here's a new force building challenge for you, but this time it's only company scale. You have one Union-Class Dropship that you can fill with up to 12 Battlemechs and 2 Aerospace fighters.

You have a Maximum BV budget of 15,000 BV for this one, so no you can't do all Assault mechs.

This challenge will also be limited to 3025 and custom units will not be available (Stock variants only).

If you would like to provide some extra fluff feel free to do so.

Fleet Building: Mandolorian Neo-Crusaders

Hello people since Ghost started this little fleetbuilding saga I've been waiting to get to my favorite Era, The Old Republic and after consulting with Ghost I've decided that I'll do it myself. First in this little escapade into the Old Republic is the Mandolorian Neo-Crusaders. These mighty warriors once brought the Republic to its knees and would have succeed if not for the intervention of Revan and his Revanchists.

(Most of this will be based on their Revens Revenge roster so you can check out Cory's video on them to check them out)

The rules are as follows:

Rendili Skunkworks: Magnastar-Class Assault Carrier

Welcome back to Rendili Skunkworks! Today we will be building an assault carrier for the Rebellion/New Republic, and to achieve this we will be collaborating with Incom and Dornean Braha'ket Fleetworks (Notable for their Bra'hatok Gunship) for the Y-4's armored cargo bay design and Braha'ket for help with the design respectively.

This design calls for a large underslung hangar space capable of carrying 3 squadrons of fighters and enough cargo space to fit medium walkers and land vehicles. We will use widened versions of Incom's Y-4 Cargo modules for this task which comes out to about 200m while the rest of the ship accounts for another 250m coming out to about 450m.

Second, the bridge of the ship will be a, as Ghost put it 'Circumcised' Hammerhead with the top part of the hammer removed to make the top a flat surface. Why? So we can mount a fuck ton of laser cannons there! 4 Retractable Quad laser cannons to be exact. We will also mount 4 more dual laser cannons on the 'keel' on the dividers between the Cargo sections.

Thirdly, the Swing wings. These are designed to swing out 10 Proton Torpedo (or concussion missiles on some designs) tubes as well as a Dual medium turbolaser on each end. They can also swing back in case they are needed to broadside an enemy.

Finally at the rear of the ship is the flight control tower, the engines and six batteries of dual light turbolasers. The flight control tower is the main command center for fighter operations as well as ground operations when landed. The engines will need to be enough to propel the ship to 58 MGLT to keep up with it's CR90 Escorts if a little behind. For this we will use 4 of the Rendili home designed RSD-88D-II Brightstar engines (The Sphyrna Engines) and 2 RSD-200D-III Starcracker Ion Drive engines (Homebrew)

Rendili Skunkworks: Victory-II Composite Beam Laser Variant

Hello people it's me again, I have yet another batshit ship modification for you. And since I seem to be doing this quite a lot I thought it would be fitting to give my mad ramblings an official name; Rendili Skunkworks.

Now onto the business of strapping 8 naval scale composite lasers to this thing. Taking advantage of the weapon hardpoints in the Victory's side winglets I will put in 10 Composite Beam projectors on each side for a total of 20 projectors. This will require the removal of all 20 ion cannons but the power freed up by these should suffice to meet the power demands of the Composite Beam lasers. My design calls for the ability to switch the intensity of the combined beam and how many there are by being able to group the beams into larger or smaller groups of composite beams combining into one. For example if I wanted high strength beams I would group the projectors up into groups of five per beam where as if I wanted smaller anti-fighter beams I could group them into groups of two. This system will likely require an advanced fire control system rather than individual operators per beam but look on the bright side, you won't have to hire as many crewmen! This variable system also makes up for the Victory-II's non existent anti-fighter defenses. (I blame Kuat for this dumbass design decision)

Mercenary Company Building Challenge:3025

On other subs like r/StarWarsShips there are fleet building challenges where you are given certain perimeters to build a force. So I thought what better a setting to build a force than Battletech?

You are a aspiring mercenary commander looking to make it big in the Inner sphere. You have taken out a loan of 500,000,000 C-Bills. Your goal is to build up a force for your first mercenary contract.

The only rule is that you cannot have custom units, otherwise everything follows prices according to Sarna or Master Unit List

This will just be for the initial purchase of the equipment and manpower and will not be taking into account maintenance though you are absolutely free to take that into consideration yourself

Additionally if you would like to provide extra lore, details on how the company fights, color scheme etc. Feel free to do so.

Edit: A smaller budget of 300,000,000 including dropships and personnel might be more feasible but this is kind of an experiment so feedback is appreciated

Dreadnaught Class Dreadnought: Yo Dude I heard you liked Dreadnaughts so I made a Dreadnought out of your Dreadnaught

Have you ever looked at the Dreadnought heavy cruiser and said to yourself "I wish that could be bigger"? Well wish no longer my friends because we at Rendili have yet another gunbrick abomination for you today!

The Dreadnaught Class Dreadnought is a blatant violation of reason, sensibility, and intergalactic law. At 2,400 meters this ship takes the Rusaan Reformations and tosses them in the locker where they belong. Boasting an impressive armament of 80 Dual Medium Turbolasers, 48 Vertical Launch Torpedo Tubes, and 120 Dual Medium Laser Cannons. It also boasts a respectible fighter compliment of 96 starfighters, 32 dropships and 16 shuttles. It also hosts a significant ground compliment of 10,000 troops with accompanying armor and transports. It has shields comparable to Clone Wars ships of the time but it was the several meter thick armor plating that allowed it to shrug off most enemy fire. It has a few major drawbacks though, first of which was the near astronomical cost, the cost of the ship alone is 464,000,000 credits and when accounting for the crew costs it comes up to about 100x the cost of the original Dreadnaught heavy cruiser. Secondly is the city sized crew cost, in order to operate the ship at full capacity the ship needed 160,000 crew members aboard. Unfortunately inheriting the poor automation from it's predecessor the Dreadnaught Class Dreadnought held an entire micro-city complex within it's hull to house it's crew, this micro-city brought with it many amenities not normally afforded to naval crews like restaurants, malls and apartments for the crew. This has had a side affect where the crew is extremely motivated to protect the ship that they see as their home. Due to these drawbacks it was passed over as the Republic's next generation capital ship in favor of the cheaper and more versatile Imperator Star Destroyer and only a small few ships were produced before the end of the Clone Wars.
