Never mind the brass tacks needed to forward the timeline to the swinging sixties. A perfect era for heists, espionage and shenanigans. Not to mention it is far enough away from modern times to feel archaic and “physical” while being similar enough to have plenty of touchstones for anyone to jump in and understand what’s what.

Curious to see how the keys and deadlock systems work in practice.

How does Demon: The Fallen play?

Hey all!
I have played Vampire, Mage and Wraith and ran them all too. I have played a one shot or two of Werewolf too. I even had a crack at mummy way back.

But I have never read Demon nor engaged with it much as part of the other lines and my own chronicles.

So how does an average game of Demon play out? If vampire is dealing with surviving in a cut throat world of blood politics and personal horror what is Demon?

What are some things you might expect to see or do in a Demon game?

I just really love this game.

Ahoy!

I came back to the game after a very long time and lots of busy and stressful life stuff.

As soon as I was back on board my ship with my pal it was like a pair of comfy old slippers. Except we had a bunch of new stuff to figure out. Including running around an ashen fortress looking for levers FAR too long.

I have found I am a very casual SoT fan. I don’t follow the updates or the fan pages and discords. I just hop on when my friend across the pond is free and do some mad pirate stuff. It’s just a pleasure to know it’s here and people are still sailing and discovering it even now.

I’ve seen a lot of games die off (R.I.P Tabula Rasa) and I know a lot of games limp on past when they maybe should. But I am really hoping this game keeps on keeping on!

I would, however, love to get some new shanties! But not in a custom MIDI kind of way. But the full blown quality like what we have.

Sorry for the gush, I just really love this game!

See you on the seas!

New player and it is wonderful!

Hey folks!
I am a life long board game and TTRPG geek. I have run Call of Cthulhu more times than I have had hot dinners but I have always fallen flat with Cthulhu themed or even licensed board games.

They never really captured the fragility of the investigators or the tension of the implications of the scenario. More importantly they never let you lose in that satisfying horror way.

I heard rumours that the LCG was different but I was living in Japan at the time and there were already so many expansions and modules that it all felt a little overwhelming to take a punt on. Now, having moved to America, I picked up the new core set and gave it a go.

God, it’s wonderful! It fixes all the aforementioned problems I had and then some. I’d say the most under rated aspect of this game is how much game you get for how little set up is actually needed.
Give everyone a deck. Pick a scenario. Layout the cards, have tokens nearby. Bosh, done!

I want to know a couple of things. How was your first time playing the game and what got you into collecting and expanding? Also, what’s my next step once I am finished with the campaign in the new core set?

Thanks!
