I've been collecting ttrpgs for about 7-8 years now and I haven't found a good bookshelf in my area that was large enough, strong enough, or affordable enough for me to display my ttrpgs on. Any suggestions? Preferably something easy to build or prebuilt and easy to move.

I've been reading the revised tzimisce clanbook recently and it is quite good. A lot of fun exploration into the different Tzimisces in the world. But something I've found really interesting is the ways that the book goes out of its way to make The Eldest seem absolutely terrifying. Just from memory alone:

1. The Eldest still exists within the Tzimisce through their blood and could, at any time, just take them over and be back.

2. There are two rumored incarnations of The Eldest that could be running around in modern nights: Ludoj and Dracon's Mpreg baby. These are both considered the eldest but have (seemingly) not interacted and may be two separate sentient entities of the same being.

3. Because The Eldest exists in the blood, he also lives inside every Sabbat that participated in the ritual blood bonding. Which means he could just decide to take over almost any antitribu, Lasombra, or any other general sabbat member. He also exists in the Tremere as his blood was used when the Tremere became a clan.

4. This isn't even including the revenant races, ghouls, abominations, and the strange (angelic?) Creatures that have Tzimisce blood and could also be possessed by The Eldest.

Luckily, the Eldest doesn't really seem to care about world domination or controlling his many childe beyond learning more about the kindred condition. In a way, he feels the most like Caine in that he is just an explorer that is experimenting with himself to find the next level of kindred-dom. He may also be too depressed/bored to conquer the world. But I could definitely see a Gehenna scenario where the Eldest goes "Only through convergence (Dead Space Reference) can I achieve transcendence" and just absorbs/takes over every being that holds even a piece of his blood to become something truly horrifying.

Edit: Added the Tremere to the list of clans the Eldest can just consume if he decided to lock in.

This includes Cofd Mage, OWOD Mage, Ars Magica, and Mage 20th. For funsies, you can also include the Dark Ages Mage runs as well as any interesting lore/tidbits from the cofd Mage historical settings.

I have seen and heard a lot of people posting interesting things about exalted and wanted to check it out. However, I would prefer to just buy one book and decide if I want to expand after. So which edition has the most complete core rulebook experience?

I am ST'ing a Demon The Fallen game and I was reading the earthbound core rulebook, where I saw they basically get to pick and choose what abilities their apocalyptic forms get. Honestly, I think they should've done that in the core rulebook as well. Have like, 8-15 abilities that any demon can use and a handful for each demon type that is specific to their classification. Hell, most of the apocalyptic form abilities are reused for most of the paths anyways. This would just make it easier for players to really customize their Apocalyptic form to be uniquely theirs.

Big fan of world of darkness. I've played Mage, Demon, Vampire v5, and Werewolf v5. However, I've been wanting to read more OWOD vampire stuff. I don't have any of the books and I was debating whether I should buy V20 or one of the other editions.

I love diving into various splats and seeing what they are capable of, reading various lore bits and theory crafting a campaign. Recently, I have been on a hunter and mage kick. However, I have seen a lot of mage posting on here and based on what I've seen/read/heard (as well as what I've seen in the mage books) it just seems like a group of imbued would have a next to impossible time hunting down mages despite that being an option. How would the average imbued cell even handle a mage?

Wanting to get into the cyberpunk ttrpg and I was trying to do research on the book but kept getting results online for the video game not the ttrpg. I am used to World Of Darkness style metaplots with reoccurring characters, narratives, and settings. I can see pieces of that through the location and some of the npcs "Morgan Blackhand, Silverhand, Adam Smasher, etc" but I was wondering if there was a good resource/resources that I could read up on this. The first wikis I saw online were buns.

Anybody know of any good websites or places I can go to to find some OWoD/CofD games? I am really interested in trying Original HtR, Mage, DtD, and CtL but a lot of the irl folks I play with typically are busy. I am also interested in just seeing what is available online.

I'm considering including a Malhim NPC in my game to add a secondary antagonist to the game. My idea currently is to take a bit of inspiration from DtD and have the Malhim basically put into "sleep mode" after the fallen were punished, only recently reawakening after hell broke from the maelstrom and basically left with full but finite faith to feed them, leading to them creating human forms (like angels in DtD) and hunting their old quarries/where their siblings went. Any thoughts? I tried to look around on wikis and the sourcebooks but found woefully little about them besides a "they may be proto garou" in the wiki that I couldn't find a source for.

I keep seeing White Wolf posting things about how they're "back" as if it is some kind of amazing game changing thing but they don't give any context. It genuinely looks like just a name change. Am I missing some sort of important context or is this just a marketing stunt to try and regain some good will in the community?

I think there is a person named "Deronda Simpson" uploading songs (potentially AI?) to Jesse L Martin's profile on Tidal.

A bit of context: i like listening to the "New Releases" every Friday. It's a fun way to find songs that are to my tastes and sometimes find a new favorite artist. I have also recently listened to Rent on a 2 hour drive for nostalgia. So, color me surprised when I hear a song called "Yellow Star" attributed to Jesse L Martin. Not just that, but the song is a sort of grim "parody" of All Star by Smash mouth in which the lead singer is talking about dying in a hospital, with a shockingly accurate impression of the lead singer of Smash Mouth.

Initially, I was just gonna leave the song be. Maybe Mr. Martin has range like that? But the more I listened and thought about it, it just became stranger to me. Why a parody of All Star that is so depressing? Why is it a solo? Why would a guy who has seemingly never done parodies before suddenly drop one now?

So, I decided to look around on the internet to see the coverage of the song. Crickets. Almost no coverage and what little there was didn't give any more information. A little annoyed but undeterred, I looked at the credits and discovered that the entire song (including the main vocals) were credited to a "Deronda Simpson". I had never heard that name before so I clicked on it to see what music that they had made before. Zero fans on tidal, no bio, no photo, and five songs (including Yellow Star) all attributed to Jesse L Martin. I gave them all a brief listen and they all sounded like different vocalists, with at least 2 being a woman singing. Their names were also strange, though I can't quite place why they look/sound so uncanny to me.

At this point, I am at an impasse. I can't find any information on this Simpson character, Jesse L Martin doesn't seem to have a public email, and Tidal services sent me to a "this page doesn't exist" tab when I clicked on it to report. So, I wanted to report my findings here to see what y'all thought of it. It's probably nothing but I still wanted to share.

I'm interested in making my own ttrpg but I wanted to explore what is out there and what players like before I start trying to craft my own from scratch. I know about Call of Cthulhu, World of Darkness, Dungeons and Dragons, GURPs, Unisystem, and Powered By The Apocalypse. I'm looking for any other popular (or even niche) systems out there.
