Laid of second time and now planning to return back home

Laid off from 2 strategy jobs not because of performance but because these other folks wanted to hire their own friends and couldn’t afford to pay for two people (funny how both were Indians as well so I get when people talk about indirect scamming sadly).

It’s only been 2 years here but it has taken mental toll considering how stuck one is with all the h1b shackles along with being scammed out of my job so a part me which just wanted to stay in the US for a few years - for getting the exposure on how fast AI is moving in Silicon Valley and also the safety as a woman which it came along with - I am giving up.

To feel like I am doing something illegal while every move of mine has been legal and respectful while I really wanted to give back to the society, things have just gone downhill.

Is this a good decision to come back to India now. I have been really passionate about my craft and had real dreams, how is the state to those who moved back to India? I work in strategy, business and GTM so unsure how good of a job market India stands for these.

I am so confused

Diagnosed with a bad case of CPTSD. In a country all alone and dated this man for 3 years. He was abusive to the point it would lead to hospital trips and he wouldn’t stop or apologize. Broke up with him. Had a conversation a week back and he shared that he thinks nobody is actually bad but everyone lies in the middle. Said someone’s actions like murders doesn’t move him since it doesn’t impact him. He openly said pedophilia is not an issue if it’s an actor he loves since he watches things as a source of entertainment. I am overreacting but I am under severe shock on realizing how his brain functions. This is the first time I am actually revolted.

Questions for store owners

Hey everyone,
I’m currently doing some deep dive research into the convenience store industry to better understand the day-to-day realities of running a store. I want to hear directly from the people in the trenches—owners, operators, and long-time managers.
I have two main questions for you all:
1. What are the biggest operational headaches you face on a weekly basis?
(e.g., employee turnover/no-shows, shrink/theft, vendor and inventory management issues, tech/POS systems lagging, or compliance/licensing stresses?)
2. In your experience, what separates a mediocre manager from a truly great one?
When you find that "unicorn" manager who completely transforms the store's profitability and culture, what specific traits, habits, or skills do they have?
Whether you run a single independent store or oversee a small regional chain, I’d love to get your raw, honest feedback on what the day-to-day looks like for you.

To all my long haired beings

With anyone who has hair longer than their chin, how do you style it in Houston humidity?
I see so many gorgeous people with great hair but my hair after a blow dry poofs up and I become a poodle regardless of humidity catered hair products.

Apartment recommendations needed!

If I want a walkable apartment from 1500 waugh drive under 1500 for a 1 bedroom, are there any particular names I should prefer?

I am looking at a few like Lumen right now but would appreciate any advice.
