Looking for advice on finding independent/commission-based B2B sales agents in Canada

Hey guys,

I’m a small business owner from Sri Lanka specializing in premium industrial raw materials (specifically Coconut Shell Charcoal Chips/Granules for filtration and activated carbon industries). Our product is ITI-certified, premium quality with high fixed carbon (87%).

I want to break into the Canadian industrial/procurement market, but as a small business, I can’t afford upfront salaries for a full-time sales team in Canada right now.

Are there any independent sales reps, sourcing agents, or freelancers here who work on a pure commission basis per deal/metric ton? Or is there a specific platform Canadians use to hire freelance B2B manufacturers' reps?

Would love to hear some advice from local business owners here, or feel free to send me a DM if you happen to work in this niche and want to explore a partnership.

Thanks in advance!

Why aren’t more small investors building Airbnb cabanas in Sri Lanka tourism areas?

I’ve been noticing something interesting in Sri Lanka’s tourism market, especially in places like Ella, Down South, and hill country areas.

A lot of travelers now seem to prefer small private cabanas, nature stays, treehouses, and glamping-style Airbnb properties instead of large hotels. Even relatively simple setups appear to perform well if the location and experience are good.

From what I’ve seen, some of these stays charge around $80–100+ per night during good seasons, while the startup cost can still be much lower than building a traditional hotel.

It made me curious why more small investors or entrepreneurs don’t explore this type of business model more often, especially compared to expensive restaurant or retail startups.

For people here who run Airbnb/rental businesses:

* What are the biggest hidden costs or risks?

* Is property management the hardest part?

* Do you think tourism-based micro hospitality businesses still have long-term potential?

* Would you consider emerging tourism markets like Sri Lanka for this kind of investment?

Would be interesting to hear real experiences and opinions from others in hospitality or Airbnb businesses.so are you interesting about that comment 'Yes'

Trapped in "Shadow Work" and Dopamine Dreaming: How do you force yourself to face the reality of zero results?

I really need some raw advice because I’ve hit a massive wall with my productivity. I notice that over the weekends, I’ll sit at my desk for like 6 to 8 hours straight. In my head, I am working incredibly hard. I’m doing market research, looking at UI templates, tweaking colors, reading success stories, and completely daydreaming about the end goals.

But when Sunday night hits, the reality is brutal. I have produced zero tangible results. No code written, no landing page launched, absolutely nothing built. I am literally addicted to "Shadow Work"—stuff that feels like work but has zero real-world impact. I'm just chasing easy dopamine by planning instead of doing the actual hard execution.

I tried using standard spreadsheets, habit notebooks, and complex Notion trackers to fix this, but they are so boring. Manually logging that I wasted time feels like an annoying admin chore, so my brain rejects it after a few days.

I want to know how you guys actually break this cycle. If you used to stay trapped in research or daydream mode, what was the exact turning point that forced you to start executing? How do you track your actual daily performance without using high-maintenance tools like Excel that cause their own friction? I'm hoping to get a solid discussion going here because I'm tired of feeling busy while doing nothing.

I’m a small business owner from Sri Lanka working in coconut shell charcoal production on a small scale. I had to pause during COVID and recently restarted. I’m trying to understand how small manufacturers in general move from local production to international markets without strong networks or trade fair access. From your experience, what are realistic ways to find buyers or distribution channels when starting from scratch? Any insights would be appreciated.

Hi everyone, just a general question for people working in small hotels or guesthouses. How do you usually manage phone calls at the front desk during busy hours or when staff are not available? Does it ever become difficult to answer all calls in time, or is it usually manageable in your experience?
