GT or UMICH

I am a junior transferring from community college this fall and got accepted into UMICH ME and Georgia Tech Aerospace. I initially was set on aero, but now I may be more interested in entering the robotics field, not totally sure which direction within as I know it is very vague. UMich will be 36k a year while GT is 10k. I do not have family support so obv the finances are huge, but also I wanna make sure my degree in aero while possibly adding a minor in maybe EE would allow me to break into whatever sector of robotics I please upon graduation.

Not Sure Where to Focus Effort

I hate the summers. Im transferring to UMich next fall for ME trying to get into robotics, but off seasons like the summer really can be mentally tough with little direction. For reference, I go to the gym everyday, do property inspections avg about 15hrs a week and 2.5k a month, run a small amz business which just hit 25k in sales, and do some door knocking for my friends moms roofing company. I knew this summer my goal was to make at least 30k, and I'm def on track for this but still I feel like I lack a clear target. I've always felt I run myself thing doing so many different things, but have never found the thing I truly love. Honestly the time put into amz for the return isnt great and its only getting worse with amazons policies, and inspections and door knocking are only viable for the summer. For those of you who have found that thing to put your all into, how did you go about this? I love the hustle of business, and I hope to get into real estate investing within the next 2 years to fulfill this, but also love the technicality and innovation of engineering.

Robotic Engineer Class Selection

I am an incoming junior studying ME to get into the robotics field. First off, am I able to add a minor to my degree and if so what do you recommend? Also, what classes do you all recommend I take my first semester, classes that you may have loved or found super interesting within the robotics field? Also any clubs that I should be targeting once the year starts? Lastly, are there any research options within the field of robotics other students recommend?

Prep Center

Does anybody have any prep centers they recommend and what should I be looking at when deciding on which to use? I do OA but wanna get approved by a few wholesalers for ungating purposes but need the commercial address, so I thought a prep center may be a viable option. I am located in Chicago if that matters.

UMich or GT

I was recently accepted to Umich as an ME major, transferring in for my junior year. I either wanna work aero or robotics and thought ME would be a good base to decide from. I will be paying 36k a year, but I was also just accepted into Georgia Tech as an aero major. I have not gotten my financial aid package yet, but what are your thoughts on which school would be a better fit, financially and academically? At what price would GT be a clear winner also?

College Student Getting Licensed

Hello all, I am going to be a junior in college at UMich in robotics engineering. I have always loved real estate and currently work as a tenant turnover inspector making about 100 a house, but its capped at about 10 a week. I also wont be able to do this while I am away for college for 8 months out of the year. I am buying my first househack this upcoming spring/summer but want a way to generate more cash flow when I'm in school. I was thinking about getting licensed as a way to make some money while learning more about real estate in general. I know its not immediate money so I have about 10 months of living expenses saved up. I run many side hustles such as amazon seller, door knocking for a siding company, etc. I am the type of person who hates downtime and really loves keeping busy. Is getting licensed a good idea for my situation? If not, any other jobs in real estate I can do part time in order to learn more about the business while saving money?

Help Choosing Classes

Hello all, I will be transferring this fall to UMich as a mechanical engineering major. I chose this as I was unsure of which speciality I want to pursue in engineering, I am currently deciding between aerospace, robotics, or some type of AI engineer. I have taken all required maths (calcs, linear alg, diff eq), statics, and a CAD course. I really want to explore these options with my classes to decide early on. I am currently leaning towards robotics or aerospace, how would you structure my class schedule for junior year in order to maximize my exposure to all these fields?

Student Loans

Hello all, I was wondering where you guys have found success in student loans. I will need to borrow 32k for the next two years. I have 7500 from federal loans, so I need to borrow 24,500 elsewhere. Sally May quoted me an insane 9%, which I dont understand as my parents make decent money and I have a 765 credit score.

Amazon Wholesale

I started amz a few months ago, have done about 20k a month in sales from OA but I want to start ungating items to find more sustainable leads. I want to start reaching out to wholesalers, I have all my certifications and made a website so they know I'm legit. I am not totally sure how to go about finding these wholesalers tho, like how do I vet the supplier to know if this is what I am looking for? I wanna make sure I partner with businesses that provide the proper invoices, and I am starting to look locally here in Chicago so I can hopefully save on shipping costs by picking items up myself. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

VA Access

I recently hired a VA who has supplied some pretty decent leads so far, but I was wondering if its safe to allow them access to my seller central so they can check ungates while sourcing for me, or if there is any way around this. Thanks!

Reasonable Apartments for Engineering Student

I will be transferring this fall as a junior and am on the hunt for an apartment and was wondering what you would all recommend. I wanna stay under 1300, not opposed to roommates, will be bringing my car, and will be studying engineering, so I believe this means I will be spending most of my time at North Campus.

Summer Project For Future Internships

I am transferring from a small community college to the University of Michigan as a junior mechanical engineer. I'm hoping to get into my first internship next summer, but due to my time at this small school, I haven't participated in any big projects/research yet. Im not totally sure what I want to specialize in, deciding between GNC, robotics / AI controls, or more tech-heavy. What are some possible project ideas I can do this summer to have at least something on my resume? I will definitely participate once I transfer, but I want to start narrowing down my focus now.

Hello all, I am currently a rising junior transferring to the University of Michigan as a mechanical engineer who plans to get involved immediately in research, hopefully propulsion-based. I am an entrepreneurial-minded person, currently running an amz business to fund my life. I chose engineering as I want to work on cutting edge technology while also having the option to take riskier paths, such as working at startups. I was wondering what my realistic options will be post grad, and what compensation will look like. I am considering a PhD after graduation, but also dont want to delay building wealth. My number 1 goal is truly to be wealthy as I never came from much, and I know engineering isnt the quickest route but it is what I enjoy and I know it is possible. Specifically, what directions can I take as an ME major interested in aerospace in order to receive the highest compensation?
