Vertical investment

Currently my teams are:

E2S1 Phainon, E1S1 Cerydra, E0S1 Sunday, E2S1 Bronya

E2 SW999, E0S0 Yao Guang, E6 EMC, E1S0 Huohuo

E1S0 Archer, E0S1 Rin, E0S0 Sparkle, E0S1 DHPT

I am definitely getting pearl for my Elation team, but in 4.5 should I invest in SP Robin or Ashveil signature for my Archer?

Would SP Robin extend my Phainon lifespan despite not having Cyrene?

E2 SW999 without Sparxie

Currently my team is E2S1 SW 999, E0S0 Yao Guang, Elation MC and Huohuo.

I am curious is it necessary to have Sparxie? Will I miss out a lot without Sparxie or E2 can compensate for Sparxie?

Thanks!

Is E2 Archer and his signature worth it

Current the team are:

Phainon, Cerydra, Sunday and Bronya

SW999, YG, MC and Huohuo

Archer, Rin, Sparkle and DHPT

Should I invest into Archer E2, his signature and Rins signature?

5080 super and hypothetical base 5080 resale value

The rumour of 5080 super is resurfacing (last year same thing happened) and most importantly if it's true the VRAM is going to be 24gb.

IMO this should have been the original 5080 and not the super variant, 5080 is mainly a 4k card and some of the games I am playing already hitting the limit (RE9 and Doom dark ages both with 4k path-tracing). 16gb in 2026 for 4k is not enough anymore, at least from my own experience, especially for a card that cost 1k+ or more.

The only problem is the resale value of the base 5080, I bought the 5080 prime brand new for close to MSRP so I am fine with lower resale value, but for those with higher end variant like suprim/astral, are you guys planning to get the 24gb variant (with potentially lower resale price since ppl are grabbing the super variant) or skip the super entirely?

Asus Prime 5080 fan rattling sound

Usually if below 70% it's fine, but I can suddenly hear fan rattling sound when fan speed hit 70% and above.

It's not consistent and sometimes come and go, sounds like the fan is hitting something or it's just normal?

4K DLSS performance hitting VRAM limit

Been playing Re9 in 4k PT performance/balanced recently and usually the vram usage is around 12 to 14gb.

However when reach Raccoon city as Leon the VRAM usage spiked to 15gb+ causing insane stuttering, FPS drop to unplayable level.

Also Witcher 3 Next Gen with RT enabled (game that released few years ago) is hitting the VRAM limit in Novigrad causing insane stuttering too.

Is it the optimisation issue or we are closer to 16gb vram limit in modern 4k path tracing/RT game earlier than we thought? Plus I only play in performance mode most of the time.

5080 is not cheap by all means and the only next available option is 5090 😑 Or Nvidia benching 5080 with 16gb vram because of Neural Texture Compression that might or might not release in future?

5700X3D to 7800X3D in 4K

Recently I just upgraded to 5080 and using a 4K 240hz OLED monitor.

Currently still using AM4 I built quite sometime ago: 5700X3D and 32gb 3200mhz ddr4.

Most of the games my GPU can run 95 to 99 percent, only certain games like wuthering waves (in city) and NTE where my GPU usage will drop to 70 to 80 percent. Is it my 5700X3D bottlenecking my 5080?

With the crazy price of ram right now, if I upgrade to 7800X3D will it bring noticeable performance increase over 5700X3D especially in 4k?
