Batman #501 - Favorite Jean-Paul Valley cover by Kelley Jones

In honor of the Knightfall trailer dropping, here is a recent pick-up of mine. My favorite cover with Jean-Paul Valley. Batman #501. I don’t think his suit has ever looked better than it does here. Cover art by Kelley Jones.

Moon Knight #29 with cover art by Bill Sienkiewicz, signed by interior artist Kevin Nowlan

This photo doesn’t do the cover justice, it was hard not to get some kind of glare.

Some recent 12 cent Marvel pickups. Daredevil #47 and Nick Fury #7

I like the street-level action on the cover of Daredevil #47 (I wish the title font had stayed this for longer), and the classic Steranko Nick Fury cover referencing Salvador Dali

Happy Absolute Catwoman day! 1st cover appearance and artwork inspiration

To honor today’s release of Absolute Catwoman #1, here’s my signed variant of her first cover appearance with the visual inspiration for the artwork, Ghost in the Shell #1 (this is the American reprint of the manga). I really love the cyberpunk influence on this version of Catwoman, down to the ability to turn her suit invisible. So excited to see more of her.

The Silver Age trinity

First two are classic Carmine Infantino covers (first race between Flash and Superman — I’m looking for the other issues from this time that depict it) and the Wonder Woman cover is penciled by Ross Andru. I like how clearly we see her costume as well as the face detail in the poster. Such a classic design. I love collecting from this era!

The Flash #174 (1967) cover by Carmine Infantino and Aquaman #42 (1968) cover by Nick Cardy - second appearance of Black Manta

The stories themselves are average but what makes these issues special to me are how dynamic and cool the covers are. I always love when the title is implemented into the artwork and that hasn’t been done better (imo) than in these issues, particularly The Flash issue.

Where to find royalty free music and stock footage that isn’t AI generated?

I’m starting on my next ultra low-budget short film since COVID and I’m the time since, it seems like the internet has been swarmed with AI music and AI stock footage. What websites are recommended that have a great selection of music or stock footage that either label or don’t include anything AI generated?

Thanks

The series that got me back into reading and collecting comics

I really can’t put into words how much of an impact this run has had on my life. Not only is it a great series, but I started reading comics/graphic novels again (from all eras and characters), as well as sparked an interest in collecting comics (currently working on developing a decent silver-age collection. This hobby has really contributed to my mental health and helped me through some tough life phases as well. So excited to continue reading and collecting these issues and becoming more involved in comics in general.

Some underrated Silver-Age DC covers

Beware The Creeper (cover and interior art by Steve Ditko) reminds me of Jack Kirby’s cover for Demon #1. I really like the motion and contrast going on. Shame this series only lasted 6 issues. Can’t go wrong with Dennis O’Neil. The second I saw this, I knew I needed it in my collection. Likewise for Brave and the Bold - definitely my favorite Hawkman cover since the Golden Age. The action is dynamic and I really like the lighting. This one is by Joe Kubert.

Fire by Lake San Marcos

Appears to be a retirement community behind the resort? Took this photo on Double Peak
