Help: What to do with Zonaite Steel and Seals?

I am not super far into the game. Just got the Secret Stones. Currently I am running into an issue where I have too much Zonaite Steel and I have no clue if I should sell it or still try to keep it.

I have heard that Zonaite Steel is not plentiful late-game, and I am not certain on what the best Seals are for each character. So to avoid wasting it on bad weapons or putting bad Seals on good weapons, I only use Zonaite Steel with no Seals and only on characters with just one weapon.

But now I am consistently maxed-out on Zonaite Steel. I have sold a few non-'++' Zonaite Steel, specifically the Special Attack ones since I heard that is the worst Seal, but I am unsure what to do with the rest.

Should I sell any with bad Seals or are not '++' tiered? Or should I bite the bullet and apply some of them anyways? Which Seals are garbage and which ones are worth using? Regular-Attack Damage and Strong-Attack Damage look the most appealing, but I do not have any '++' tiered versions of them.

Any feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

1/4 of ALL Pals are Dark! (1.0 Pal Type Breakdown)

As of 1.0, there are 299 Pals in Palworld. 73 of them, a quarter of all Pals in the game, belong to a single type: DARK

Before 1.0 dropped, I made a post addressing this terrible type distribution and hoped that Pocketpair would fix it in 1.0. Sadly, that did not happen.

Current Palworld 1.0 type distribution as of 1.0:

Type (Ranked) 1.0 Count New in 1.0
Dark 73!!! +17!!!
Water 48 +9
Grass 47 +7
Fire 44 +11
Ground 44 +16
Neutral 41 +7
Ice 38 +10
Dragon 25 +4
Electric 25 +7

Having one type in a monster-catching game account for a quarter of all Pals sucks. "Oh, another Dark-type Pal!" was a recurring phrase when I played through Palworld 1.0 for the first time with a friend.

Pocketpair needs to improve the type diversity in this game. There are so many Dark-type Pals that do not need to be Dark-type. Either split Dark into different types, introduce a huge volume of Pals that are not Dark in a future update, and/or retype Dark-type Pals into other types.

Star Fox "performed steadily" per the Consolidated Financial Highlights

https://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/pdf/2026/260806e.pdf

"Looking at Nintendo Switch 2 software, titles such as Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, released in May, and Star Fox, released in June, performed steadily, and Pokémon Pokopia, released in the previous fiscal year (see note), also sold well, with the result that Nintendo Switch 2 software sales totaled 9.46 million units."

Remember that Star Fox was only on the market five days before the cut-off for the financial report that just came out. It not hitting one million in those five days, though not ideal, is not the end of the world.

We have too many Dark Pals, they make up 1/4 of ALL Pals! (Pal Type Breakdown)

As of now, there are 226 Pals in the game, counting alternates separately and including the ones from Terraria.

Breaking down the types from most to least common:

  1. Dark - 56
  2. Water - 39
  3. Neutral - 34
  4. Fire - 33
  5. Grass - 32
  6. Ground - 28
  7. Ice - 28
  8. Dragon - 21
  9. Electric - 18

Dark Pals make for a quarter of all Pals in the game (56 = 24.78% of 226), and many of the Pals they have shown coming with 1.0 look like they could be Dark as well.

I really hope we get better type diversity, in 1.0 and future updates. Having a 1/4 chance of any Pal you encounter being of a certain type sucks for type diversity.

If they want more Pals active during the night, then either give more Pal species the Nocturnal Passive naturally or just program them to be active during the night like Lovander.

Nintendo Direct tomorrow! 50 minutes, plus 95 minutes of Treehouse Live after.

Hoping they show off more of Star Fox in the Direct and Treehouse Live. I will also be keeping an eye out for a new WarioLand and/or Super Metroid remake, as those games are tied to the rumored second Star Fox game in the works.

HEADS-UP: Amazon's pre-order price for Star Fox went up, but Walmart is still price-matching!

Looks like Amazon is no longer price-matching physical Star Fox pre-orders to the digital version. At the time of writing though, Walmart still is.

If you have been putting off pre-ordering Star Fox, but still want the cheaper physical version, may want to get on Walmart soon.

EDIT: At the time of writing, Walmart (US) is out of stock with the physical version. Uncertain if they will retain the price-match once they restock. Will edit this post once they do.

EDIT 2: As of now, Walmart (US) has restocked and is still price-matching! Thank you u/SunburntPalkia!

There are 25 Character Avatars and 18 AR Accessories

In VGC's gameplay video (timestamp), we can see all 25 Character Avatar slots (6 rows of 4, plus one more at the bottom) and all 18 AR Accessory slots (4 rows of 4, plus two more at the bottom) between both screens in view.

Between this video and the Nintendo Japan website, we know Character Avatars and 8 AR Accessories. Any guesses as to the remaining Character Avatars and AR Accessories, or have you seen any others confirmed in other preview videos?

For the Character Avatars, looking at Star Fox 64 3D, we hit 23/25 unique character portraits without Spyborg (No portrait in the new game). Star Fox Zero's Cornerian Soldier and Direct-i bump us to 25/25, though I highly doubt we will be seeing Direct-i. As for the AR Accessories, well, there are a ton of hats for sure.

Anyone have success with an HDMI EDID emulator/manager?

Here is my situation:

Xbox Series S is capable of outputting 1440p at 120Hz. My monitor (Sceptre E275B-QPT168) has an HDMI 2.0 port, which I verified in the User Manual is capable of 1440p at both 144 and 120Hz. I have them connected with a certified Ultra High Speed HDMI cable.

However, when I try changing my settings on the Xbox, I can only do 1080p at 120Hz or 1440p at 60 Hz. I believe it is due to the monitor using different, non-standard timings that the Xbox does not recognize.

Would a HDMI EDID Emulator Passthrough resolve this? Has anyone experiencing this issue had success with one? There are a bunch on Amazon, but I want to know if the concept works before I get one.

EDIT for clarification

Page 25 of the User Manual for the monitor states that it is capable of 1440p 120Hz and 144Hz via HDMI: https://www.sceptre.com/g_clump/pub/Manuals/LEDMONITOR/E275B-QPT168%20User%20Manual.pdf

The idea is to make the Xbox think it is plugged into an HDMI 2.1 monitor so it outputs 1440p 120Hz, which the monitor can handle, using an HDMI 2.1 EDID emulator like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GHWWR7L9?niid=nl_cl_lst_a_0_1&nrid=9A0KVX0TE0AYEBGTNVBP&th=1

Amazon US sold out of physical copies of the new game.

Granted, we do not know how many physical copies Amazon ordered, but selling above Amazon US’s expectations does bode well for the game’s future.

They uploaded the prologue stand-alone. I absolutely love all the world-building and storytelling they are doing with this game.

So tomorrow 04/28 is looking to be the last chance for Star Fox to be revealed in April. And tomorrow makes sense: It is Tuesday, which Nintendo typically uses for game announcements, and it is the last day before Japan's "Golden Week."

But what happens if we do not see an announcement tomorrow?

First and foremost, do not attack NateTheHate. Remember that these are rumors, not promises made by Nintendo themselves.

Second, remember that plans change. Nintendo can shift their marketing schedule when they deem necessary. If that is the case, no, they would not do so just to get at Nate. A more likely scenario would be an internal debate between revealing the game the day before Golden Week or the day after Golden Week. So if we see nothing tomorrow, then the 'after Golden Week' side won and the reveal was moved to Thursday, May 07.

Nate has zero doubt in the new Star Fox game, and other reputable sources have corroborated since. And as of now, Nintendo still has no new games planned for June. So no announcement tomorrow does not mean the game does not exist.

Now if a different game is announced for June, like Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave or Pikmin 4 Switch 2 Edition, that is a different story. It could mean they decided to push the game back into this Autumn or Winter for whatever reason.

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. Although I am still confident in a June release, there is no guarantee of an April reveal. And IF that is the case, just hold tight, do not freak out and lash out at Nintendo or NateTheHate. The Earth will keep spinning regardless of a rumor about a video-game.

See you all tomorrow.

There is a lot of misinformation going around regarding the upcoming Star Fox game first reported by NateTheHate. This is all we know about the game:

Oscar Lemaire only speculated that the game may be some spin-off because of the multiplayer component. He did not directly claim that the game was a spin-off. He has also not said anything about a second, mainline Star Fox game next year.

The only talk of a second Star Fox game came from Malo932, the anonymous YouTube commenter who corroborated everything from Nate's podcast episode before it dropped. I did a full write-up on it on r/StarFox if you want to learn more.

There are no direct claims that the game is a spin-off or some other small-budget multiplayer-only game, like a "Star Fox 99" many keep bringing up.

Everything on the second rumored Star Fox game (The "adventure" one)

Been thinking a lot about the second rumored Star Fox game and decided to start compiling information. Note this is not about the game leaked by NateTheHate for this Summer. This is a very long post, so buckle up.

On 03/22, six days before Nate's podcast episode on 03/27, a YouTube comment from "Malo932" corroborated everything Nate claimed and more. Malo932 claimed "a classic Starfox to hype people for the adventure one" was this year. (See Image 1)

On 03/26, the day before Nate's podcast episode, Malo932 wrote another comment reiterating that "A classic Starfox is coming in june, the adventure one is still coming but not in 2026." which I caught wind of and asked for additional information on 03/28. Malo932 replied, claiming that "the Starfox adventure game is a new one, i don't know the title of the game and i will not spoil the characters". (See Image 2)

I can confirm these comments were not edited after the fact, as in my own testing, there is an (edited) note next to the timestamp on edited comments, which neither of Malo932's had. (See Image 3)

Also on 03/28, Italian YouTuber "Poro Michele" uploaded a video discussing private messages he was sent via Instagram talking about the game. He used the phrase "a week ago from today" in the video, which would be 03/21, lining up with the censored screenshot having "sab" above the message (Italian shorthand for "Sat" as in Saturday). (See Image 4)

In the video, Poro Michele states (machine-translated) "an adventurous Star Fox, still in development, but currently on ice." and "from the way the leaker presents it, it seems more like something in an early stage that might arrive later on. One of those projects that may only be in pre-production and, depending on various factors—first and foremost the success of this relaunch—could be shelved even before the game is officially revealed, or might have already been shelved."

Poro Michele does state that this is not the first Instagram message from this account, though. On an unknown day before 09/17/2025, this person made a few claims surrounding a September 2025 Nintendo Direct and a Super Mario Galaxy 2 Remake that were completely wrong. (See Image 5)

And on top of all of this, disgraced "leaker" SamusHunter2 was hinting around New Year's 2025 that there was a new Star Fox game in the works akin to Star Fox Adventures. I even posted about it on New Year's Day 2025. SamusHunter2 spoke about is as if it would drop in 2025 though, which was off if true. SamusHunter2 is highly disgraced for a reason, but given the oddity of the claim and how close it is to Malo932's, I wanted to include it in this information dump. (See Image 6)

I believe the individual who messaged Poro Michele is Malo932 based on a few things:

  1. The information reported lines up with Malo932's YouTube comments
  2. In the video screenshot, he messaged on Friday 03/27 ("Ven" as in "Fri" or Friday) that (machine-translated) "I beat Nate to it (and I even have a little extra), and you didn’t pay me any attention at all, Infamous Poro."
  3. The name associated with the YouTube account is "Michele" spelled the same as the YouTuber "Poro Michele" (See Image 7)

This false information paired with potentially contradictory statements (Directly claiming that the adventure game is "still coming" versus how Poro Michele inferred that the game was "on ice") does give me pause. However, Nate has a very strong track record, and corroborating everything Nate claimed before he said it is still absolutely noteworthy.

So our timeline goes as follows:

  • Before 09/17/2025: Poro Michele receives a private message on Instagram anonymous account that seems to be Malo932 containing false Nintendo information.
  • 03/21: That same anonymous Instagram account messages again containing information that lines up with Nate's claims, plus more, including information about the second adventure game.
  • 03/22: First YouTube comment from Malo932.
  • 03/25: Nate records the podcast episode.
  • 03/26: Second YouTube comment from Malo932, AND Fox is announced to be in the Super Mario Galaxy movie. (Unknown which was first)
  • 03/27: Nate's podcast episode drops.
  • 03/28: Malo932's comments are found and reported on Reddit. Some people (Including myself) ask additional questions, and Malo932 responds to some. Poro Michele also uploads his video detailing the private messages from 03/21.

IF Malo932's leaks are real, my guess is that the adventure game is in pre-production, with a greenlight on full production dependent on the sales numbers of the upcoming classic game this Summer. If the game successfully rides the wave of hype from Fox's movie appearance and sees great sales numbers, production will be greenlit. If the game falls short of Nintendo's hopes, they may pull the plug before they invest further time and resources.

Unfortunately, we will not be getting anything else out of Malo932, who had replied to one of my other comments stating: "No more comments from me after i was put on reddit. I never wanted attention". Malo932 also deleted the initial YouTube comments on the Nintendo Forecast videos. (See Image 8)

When I asked Nate if he knew anything about this second adventure game, he simply said "I have nothing to share." which does not directly confirm/deconfirm anything. (See Image 9)

So, from everything I can gather summed up:

  • Malo932 and the account that messaged Poro Michele are likely the same person.
  • Malo932 likely got a hold of the same information source as NateTheHate. It is too much of a coincidence otherwise.
  • That said, we do not know Malo932's sources. The adventure game could have come from the same source, a different source, or something made up.
  • IF the game is real, it may be in early development, with the continuation potentially reliant on the Summer Star Fox game's sales. And the game may have been in the works since late 2024, assuming SamusHunter2 actually had good information.

Of course, no leaks are "real" until Nintendo proves them to be. Just presenting a lot of information because I like Star Fox. Draw your own conclusions.
