Virtual Card System

BACKGROUND

\- Robinhood Banking
\- Robinhood Brokerage
\- Robinhood Gold Card

\- I somehow got approved for the gold card despite being relatively new to credit, I believe it was due largely in part to my strong relationship and assets with Robinhood / Robinhood banking. Just one question…

Can someone explain how the virtual cards work and what they’re most useful for?

Reapplication Chances for Approval

Applied roughly a month ago, received a denial for "low account assets", I only had about 3/4k in my brokerage account at the time. I now have about 9/10k in my brokerage and another 2-3k in robinhood banking, so about 13k in total assets with robinhood. I have the opportunity to reapply on 8/15 (support team was very helpful for once), Id just like to know what my odds are looking like. 30k income, very thin credit file, 13k assets with robinhood, robinhood banking as my direct deposit, annual gold membership (paid already), previous denial solely for "low account assets' nothing about my creditworthiness. What are yall thinking my chances for approval are, even for just like 500?

Reapplications

I was denied for the Robinhood gold card on 7/16 for low account assets (think I had like 4K in the account at the time). I now have about 9k in my brokerage and another three thousand in my Robinhood banking. I spoke to an agent today and they said I am eligible to reapply on 8/15 and that the original link I received should still work. The entire conversation was documented and I had a email copy sent to me just in case it doesn’t work, so I can then have them send me a new link as they literally told me I quote „can reapply on 8/15” . Looks like I get another chance and hopefully with my now 12-13k in assets with them I should get approved for one.

PS, prior to me reaching around ten thousand in assets with Robinhood they would always tell me „we’ll email you if you become re eligible” making me believe now that I do have over ten thousand in assets with them that I am Eligible for the card as they quite literally told me I can reapply on 8/15. Thoughts?

Nearly switching

Solely switched to Robinhood for the card and banking ecosystem cause I liked their simplicity and rewards. I don’t mind waiting a couple months for the card as I have to build up my credit a little bit stronger but the banking I’ve been waiting and waiting with no success. Heard some people got a invite after pulling out of Robinhood entirely. I have nearly ten thousand invested on the platform and I’m considering switching over to fidelity permanently if I still don’t manage to get a invite even after my withdrawal. Lmk if the withdrawal method worked for yall or how yall managed to get a banking invite.

Update: literally seconds after complaining to the AI support bot and threatening to leave Robinhood I got the banking invite… literally on the withdrawal page of the app it just popped up lol

Chase freedom rise reconsideration

So I applied recently for the Chase freedom rise card. I wasn’t sure whether I’d get approved or not as it wouldn’t let me open a Chase checking online. Sure enough I found out that it was not approved but it was because of an inability to verify my student status. Since then I’ve opened a Chase checking account and deposited 270 dollars into it, linked assets worth 13k to my Chase account and sent in documents to verify my student status (student id and schedule with address, name and institution on it). I currently make 24k a year (I’m a student) and I have no debts or monthly rent or mortgage payments (0$). Once they verify my student status and I call the reconsideration line am I likely to get approved? I’m 18 this would be technically my first card. PS - the chase service agent said the only reason I was declined was they needed to verify my student status. LMK!!
