New "boss" is a micromanager

I started a new job Monday. The office administrator (not office manager) is training me. She is so nice and allows so much autonomy that she gave me express permission to write the full word for a day of the week on an internal report, rather than abbreviate.

"We write 'Mon' for Monday on the top of this sheet. If you want to write the whole word though, that's totally fine with me"

Not sure why that needed to be clarified. Thank you.

A few days ago she was watching me reactivate something. It needed to be labeled. I write re-act because she told me to as she watched over my shoulder and she quickly correctly me because we don't use hyphens here. Just write "react". Erase the dash.

My mistake.

Figuring out how to stop

So my problem keeps getting worse and worse. This may not work for everyone, but here's what I'm trying. And please, let me know if there is a workaround you guys can think of that I may be overlooking.

I cut my debit card into pieces. I still have it in my Google wallet. I can still go to the actual bank and withdraw cash, though. I'm closing that bank account and opening an account with Ally which has no physical location. I ordered a debit card, am going to add it to my Google wallet immediately, then cut that card up. I confirmed that this bank does not allow tap transactions on any ATMs.

I downloaded AppBlock and paid $30 for the year. I input every web address I could find (searched online casinos for hours) that I could play slots on, turned it on strict mode with my fiance's email being the only way I will be able to turn it off or delete the app. I set a parental control on my Playstore and had my fiance choose the pin so I am unable to download any apps rated higher than Teen without him on my phone.

Only thing left I could think of that would be possible is switching devices to gamble, if I did it online. We have one other device that could be used in the house and it is my fiance's laptop. Anything I could do to prevent me using that in the future? I never have, but anything is possible when you have a gambling problem.

Good luck, everyone.

Is it okay if I don't ask my BFFs sisters to be bridesmaids?

I'm getting married and planning is stressful. My maid of honor is my best friend since we were 12 years old, and we are now 31. Her family has become my family. I spent my formative years in their family home for days at a time.

I call her parents mom and dad, my son calls them Grandma and grandpa (I don't have a dad and my mom was not very present) and I consider her siblings my siblings (they are all younger and the youngest doesn't even remember a time I wasn't around). They even took me and my son on a family trip to Disney World as the only guests who weren't related by blood.

All that being said, her younger sister got married a couple years ago and even though all four of the natural children INSIST I am a sibling in every way other than blood, my BFF and the other sister were asked to be bridesmaids and I was not. When it came time for a large family photo, the bride let me sit out without insisting I be part of it. She gave me a low effort wave to join and I shook my head and said "it's okay" and she said okay.

I never truly know where I stand. And I often feel like an afterthought. I'm planning on asking my fiances sisters to be my other bridesmaids. Would my chosen family sisters be offended? Would that be me indicating to them that I don't consider them family?

Household chores

My apartment smells because I don't remember the last time I cleaned. Got the garbage taken out so I'm hoping that helps... But there's still the kitchen sink filled with dishes. And the stove covered in... Grime. Haven't vacuumed in probably 2 months. I can't ask my fiance to do it because why should he do it if I won't? I'm sure he's sick of being the only one who cares about anything.

I wake up, shower and brush my teeth if I have to go to work, put in the 8 hours sitting at my desk, come home and lay down. I am quite literally useless.

Who cares? Maybe someone here. Maybe not. Probably my friends or family, but I can't bring myself to talk to them about it anymore. How many different ways can you say you wish you were dead over months' time before it falls on deaf ears.

Anyway, I'm proud of all of you who took care of themselves or their home today in any way. And if you didn't, there's always tomorrow. And I'm proud of you for waking up. I know it wasn't easy.
