Best way to connect WhatsApp to GoHighLevel with an AI agent?

I run a small marketing agency and I want to start using WhatsApp as a channel inside GHL. The idea is that leads message us first on WhatsApp, an AI agent handles the first reply, and from there we can follow up over time.

I'm a bit lost on the best way to set this up and I'd love to hear from people who already have it working:

  • What's the cleanest way to connect WhatsApp to GHL without risking the number getting banned?
  • Is the GHL AI agent actually good enough to handle first contact on WhatsApp, or do you end up taking over manually?
  • Once someone has written in, can you keep doing follow-ups later, or does that get complicated?
  • Do you use a separate number for this, or your normal business number?

Any advice, setups or things you'd avoid would be a huge help. Thanks!

META: lead gen, cold account: Maximize number of leads or Maximize number of conversion leads?

I'm launching lead gen on a brand-new Meta ad account (no history, fresh pixel) for a niche B2B service around €500/mo recurring. Instant Forms, connected to GoHighLevel via the Conversions API.

The question is which performance goal to launch with: Maximize number of leads, or Maximize number of conversion leads?

My thinking is that conversion leads needs qualified-lead data flowing back from GHL before it has anything to optimize toward, so on a cold account it would just starve. So I'd start on Maximize number of leads to build volume and feed the CAPI, then switch to conversion leads once GHL has enough pipeline data going back. Is that the right call, or do people start on conversion leads from day one?

How do you actually surf an annual dead month with Smart Bidding without breaking it?

I run lead-gen Search + DSA campaigns on tCPA for a B2B training company in Spain. The campaigns have been running for several months now and have solid conversion history.

My recurring pain: August is basically dead here — the whole country goes on holiday, demand collapses, almost zero conversions for a month. But September and October are my two best months of the year.

Every year I face the same dilemma and never know how to surf it well:

  • Pause and restart late August → afraid of the relearning hit landing right when my peak begins.
  • Leave it running as-is → last Christmas and another B2B slow stretch, the algorithm found almost no conversions and came back "half-broken" the next month — took weeks to stabilize, right when I needed it firing.
  • Cut budget hard → but big cuts (>30%) also seem to trigger relearning.

What's actually worked for you? I heard something about "seasonality adjustments"
