Is there a way to tell if this is a real Imari bowl? Near Boston, Massachusetts - USA
We found this at an estate sale yesterday and it had a label on the bottom saying it was purchased for $700 at an auction several years ago. This is in a suburb near Boston, Massachusetts in the United States. We only paid $25 for it because the woman didn’t see the label.
I am not an expert on antiques and frankly never thought about owning one. We have two young kids, after all! But if this is something nice, I’m excited! If anything, even if it’s fake, we didn’t pay much and it looks nice.
