I'm having a slightly difficult time finding a mid/high rise casual (not worsted wool) trouser with a single pleat. I'd like to keep it well under $150/pair. Where are you getting yours?

Just put together this vintage Vogt silver buckle set with Yoder ranger belt. Trying to up my belt game from purely functional to functional fashion accessory.

What are you guys wearing that's interesting?

Wife has had a hell of a time finding a boot that fits. 7.5B is what she normally buys but still not quite right and sales people keep trying to push her into an 8B which is too long and slips too much.

Stopped into M.L. Leddy and got properly sized at 7E. If these were brown she'd probably have them on her feet but she's going to have to go the custom route. Between the width and calf measurements there's nothing we've found that fits.

I wonder how many of y'all are running around in the wrong size boots. 🥹

I’m looking to commission a custom leather belt for a vintage 3/4" sterling silver hardware set.

The design goal is a refined "New" Ranger-style belt that bridges classic menswear and Western craftsmanship. I want something clean enough for office/sport coat wear, but still appropriate with Western boots and denim.

General design brief:

• 1 3/8" or 1 1/4" main belt body with finished leather keepers
• Clean taper to true 3/4" billet sections
• 3/4" between adjustment holes
• Built for 3/4" silver hardware
• New Ranger-style construction, meaning no bulky traditional ranger overlay/stack (see reference photos)
• Smooth leather only — no tooling, stamping, carving, or contrast panels
• Fine tonal perimeter stitching (high SPI)
• Clean sanded, dyed, beveled, and burnished/polished edges
• Removable hardware attachment, preferably Chicago screws or snaps
• Refined/dressy finish rather than rustic Western

Leather preference:

I’m leaning toward English bridle leather, ideally around 9–10 oz, but I’m open to maker recommendations. I want enough structure for jeans and boots without the belt feeling overly heavy or bulky.

Style reference:

I’ve attach a few Seidel Saddlery photos as references for the New Ranger construction concept, but my desired belt would be much plainer and more understated: smooth leather, tonal stitching, finished edges, no tooling.

I’m looking for someone US based that's comfortable with precise custom belt work with clean stitching and a high level of finish/refinement. Single belt to start, there will be a follow on orders in other colors. Please send examples of similar belt work, estimated pricing, lead time, and any questions about measurements or construction.

Lucchese 1378 from '83. They're about 3 weeks older than I am but in much better shape. 🥴

They folded them in half. Then compressed them with stuffing. For 4 shipping days. It's not like they're vintage Lucchese alligators (L6309, #2 Toe/#4Heel, can't tell if '93 or '98) or anything. Thanks for the creases amigo!

Spent my lunch hour brushing them off, wiping them down and applied Bick 4 to the shaft and Bick Exotic on the vamp. I left them lightly stuffed with paper bags until I got home then buffed them & wore them around the house for about an hour. Looks like they rebounded some. Going to Al's Handmade Boots this weekend for a full restoration.

Westernwear doesn't seem to be too popular here...

Wife and I are the Padrinos. I'll preface this by saying I am not a cowboy, I'm just a classic menswear nerd that happens to be from Texas. This outfit is mostly set, I already own or already purchased the few items I didn't already have.

The Core:

• Plum/navy (textured open weave) soft shouldered jacket
• White western oxford
• Black 20X felt
• Silver ranger buckle set

I just need to decide if I'm going with the shadow black 13MWZ/black ranger belt/black Luccheses or the black chocolate 13MWZ/mahogany ranger belt/black cherry Luccheses.

Obviously black is the more formal option but the brown/black cherry/purply-navy play really well together IRL. What do you guys think?

Vintage boot with brand new toe damage. I swear that concrete step came out of nowhere!

Settle an argument: Are these a dress boot? Or does the ranch/work boot trend just make this seem like a dress boot in comparison?

These came with heel taps already installed, barely worn soles and no discernable indentation in the footbed. I guess I'll have to make one, poor me. These might be the most comfortable pair of vintage Luccheses I have.

I just wiped them with a damp cloth, applied Bick 4, gave 'em a good brushing and vacuumed the interior. Then my grandson stepped all over them with his Spiderman sneakers... I'll hit 'em with another round of conditioner in a couple of days and polish up the knicks/scuffs.

My son picked these up at a thrift auction for about $200. L1510.63 black goat from '01. They're as new as they look, just dusty. I guess he can knock the dress boots off the list.

Felt season is coming. Got wifey a 10x Open Crown Rodeo King and a new band for her birthday. Criminally underrated color. The Hat Store here in HTX did the shaping, always a pleasure visiting those guys.

Picked up this $200 Black Gold from a fella 10 years my junior wearing a starched brush popper and J toes. I love that the retro stuff is coming back! 4 1/4 is too damn big on me so wife and I drove down to The Hat Store and had them cut it down to 3 3/4, narrowed it up front with a gentle lift but left it pretty broad/flat in the back. I think it came out nice. While I was as the shaping bar wife ran off with a salesman so now I have to buy her a black cherry lid...

I think I might want to soften the dents a bit but not sure if I should attempt it with a factory blocked crown.

Just got these back from Al's Handmade Boots after getting new heel caps and stabilizing a few cracks. Unfortunately, these fit closer to a 9.5 than my usual 9D and I'm on the fence about keeping them. 😞

Was talking to a buddy last week about how a boot I bought in my normal size fit a tad wide then got to talking about sizing found out that he had never stood on a Brannock device. He just always tried shoes/boots on and bought what he thought felt best in the store 11D/11M. He texted me yesterday to tell me that he got measured and he's actually a B width (he's 43).

How many of y'all are stuffing your feet into the wrong size boot?
