What is your favorite nano fish that you believe is niche, and is very uncommonly/rarely heard of?

This tank is a few years old
It was my parents but they kinda handed it over to me to spruce it up
So I added a few plans
The fish already existing are a school of silver tip tetras and a school of golden barbs with a pair of SAEs
Any suggestions for what more I could add? Something that would get along with the fish already there or maybe another tetra school
I'm just looking for guppy grass in Chennai, I won't be able to order online so I want to see if there's anyplace I can buy it physically.
So I wanted to try setting up a walstad
Aquarium with just pearl weed and I had to leave somewhere as an emergency for a month
They had around 7 hours of light daily
But when I came back they look like this
Is there any saving them
It’s 2 inch vermicompost to 1 inch black sand substrate ratio and the pearl weed was tissue culture

I'm from Chennai and I really wanna revamp my friend's tank, problem is they've been using plain sand without any sort of nutrients and all their plants died. First thing I wanted to do is get root tabs, can anyone tell me which is the brand you've had the best experience with and if it's available in Kolathur?
